The sermons that I have listed are 30 to 40 minute sermons. I have only listed the points and a couple of comments under each point of each sermon to give the preacher a remembrance which the Holy Spirit can lead on and speak through the man of God.
Just one word, the Children.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
“The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is the Hand That Rules the World “is a poem written by William Ross Wallace in 1865, and it is more practical than people think and even more today. This is why it is imperative that the hands that do rock the cradle be the hands that are being led by God and not by the claws of Satan.
1. The trainers.
First, let’s talk about the trainer’s which are the parents and in some cases the grandparents having to fill in the gaps because of the parent’s absence. It is so important that we live a good Christ-like example in our lives so the children will have a good example to imitate. The Bible says we are to bring our children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Eph. 6:4). Paul left us a good legacy by teaching us to concentrate on whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and a good report; he said think on these things (Phil. 4:8).
2. The training.
Second, the Bible is our training manual. Notice it doesn’t say teach it says to train meaning hands-on, to drill in, to instruct, to exercise, to practice. It is like when you are being trained on the job or you are training someone on the job you go through all the details hands-on until you get it down in your brains hard-drive. The training manual itself is the Word of God inspired by God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that we may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2Tim 3:16).
3. The trainee.
Third, we see is the trainee, the child. In Ps.127-3 we see that children are a heritage of the LORD and it is an honor and a privilege as a parent to be able to raise children. A child’s heart will burn whatever fuel you put in their heart. We have a choice to use either the world’s regular unleaded or spiritual super unleaded, and if you don’t fill up with spiritual, the world will automatically fill up the heart. This is why the Bible tells us to guard your hearts and until your children are able to guard their own hearts, the parents are too guard their hearts. Interesting fact is you don’t have to teach a child to be bad, bad was born in them. We as Christian parents have to teach them how to act according to God’s Word.
4. The promise.
Fourth, we see the promise that God gave us when we do train up a child in the admonition of the Lord. When your child grows old he will not forget what he was taught from the Bible and what God requires. In the middle years they usually go through trial and error, but through the grace of God and prayers from the family the children hopefully will not go crazy all at once and God will put His protective hedge around them until they come to their senses and return to the ways they were taught by their Christian parents.
