John 1:35-39 (NKJV)
35 Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples.
36 And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, "Behold the Lamb of God!"
37 The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
38 Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, "What do you seek?" They said to Him, "Rabbi" (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), "where are You staying?"
39 He said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).
Have you ever just asked a dumb question?
When it came out of your mouth, you knew it was a dumb question, and you are thinking, “I can’t believe I just said that!”
I can’t help but think about the other disciple, I wonder if he stood there with his mouth open, not believing what the other disciple just asked!
I mean you have Jesus, the Son of the living God in front of you, and you have the chance to ask Him anything…Why, am I here?
What is heaven like? How can we cure world hunger?
And the question that comes out of your mouth is about housing commendations?
But these verses shows us something very important, it shows us that many times we are concerned about the trivia things of life, instead of focusing on the important things of life.
Jesus’ question to them was a lot more, deeper than their question to Him!
He is asking them a question, and in doing that, He is trying to get them to look deep within themselves and see for themselves what they are really seeking, not only for that moment, but for the rest of their life.
I want you to notice, He didn’t belittle them, He didn’t ignore them, He showed them what they had asked.
I believe there are no dumb questions when it comes to asking God about something, because in our questions God can reveal who He is, and reveal things about ourselves, that we might not see any other way!
Because in our questions about life, about death, about problems, about theology or whatever questions you may ask, don’t be afraid to ask.
Two things happen when we ask questions:
1-We are spending time with God seeking our answer
2-God reveals to us within our question, what we are truly seeking!
What are you seeking after?
What is the desire of your heart?

My Desire
It’s my desire to do some good thing every day.
It’s my desire to help a fallen by the way.
It’s my desire to bring back those who gone astray.
It’s my desire to be like the Lord!
It’s my desire to bring someone to the throne.
It’s my desire to shelter someone from the cold.
It’s my desire to do thy will as I am told.
It’s my desire to be like my Lord!
It’s my desire to see His face when light is dawn.
It’s my desire to meet the Father and the Son.
It’s my desire to hear Him say, “My child well done!”
It’s my desire to be like my Lord!
