"The Corporate Anointing!" The Anointing is a Person!
The anointing is not a feeling, an idea, or an atmosphere - it is a knowing, the assurance that God is with us. The anointing is a Person! The Spirit of the Son! The Lord Jesus Christ, the Root of David, earth's one true Messiah, the fountainhead of all anointing.
Jesus is the "anointed one", the Messiah, the Christ: He is Prophet, Priest, and King. "Christ" is both Head and Body! Jesus is our glorious Head and we are His Church, the Body of Christ, and the CORPORATE MESSIAH! This anointed, sanctified "royal priesthood" is a prophetic people who have been made kings and priests unto God, the CORPORATE ANOINTING.
The anointing flows like a river from the anointed One. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Son. The Holy Spirit of the anointed One is a Person, the Spirit of the Father and the Son who have come to make the saints their "mansion". We are the "temple" of the Holy Ghost. In Him we live, and move, and have our being.
"Christ in and among all of you". His Church, His Body, collectively comprises the fullness of Him, to fill all things.
To accomplish this, the Father has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts. The spirit of Moses was multiplied and placed upon the 70 elders; even so, the New Testament Mediator has become a many-membered Man in His corporate Body. This "mystery of godliness" began with a Seed being planted in a habitation of purity, Mary's womb. Paul's apostolic, intercessory burden was that Christ, the anointed One, the Spirit of the Son, be fully formed in a virgin Church. This glorious Body of Christ is the Church of the firstborn, Mount Zion, the city of the living God.
The Corporate anointing is three-dimensional, revealed in three different words for "anointed" or "anointing."
The first is the Hebrew word suk, which means to "pour out."
The second is masah or mashach, which means to "smear on"
The third is the Greek word chrio, which means to "rub in."
Each dimension of the anointing reveals ever-increasing levels of divine power according to God's Word. Yet each dimension has a specific purpose in the plan of God, and at each level we encounter not a "thing" but a Person, the Spirit of the Son of God.
Isa 10:27 It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing.
The first dimension of the corporate anointing means "to pour out"
We have responded to the presence of God with joy, but too often we don't allow the anointing to permeate our being.
It is all right to have a good time in the house of the Lord, but how often do we find that when the next day's testings come, we do not have enough enrichment left to face our tests and trials in victory.
The second level of corporate anointing means to smear on. When the anointing oil was smeared on, it lasted longer than when it was just poured out. Like the priests of old we have been anointed for service, but there are still limitations in this second realm.
The Third Dimension is when God is Rubbed into our very being.
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
The Greek word "anointed" in this verse, gives us the scope of the third dimension of corporate anointing- to rub in. It means a “special endowment of the Holy Spirit" This third anointing pertains to the Most Holy Place, where all compound anointing springs forth from the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Isa 11:1-2 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel, & might, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of the LORD.
John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; without Me you can do nothing.
The Maturing Pressure of God's Hand.
This final anointing is rubbed in by the pressure of God's hand. The fivefold gifts in Ephesians 4:11. The thumb represents the Apostle, covering and touching all four fingers in intimate co-labor. The index finger is the prophet, the pointer. The middle finger extends or reaches out the farthest to grasp the lost, a picture of the evangelist. The pastor married to the local church, is depicted by the ring finger of the marriage covenant. And the teacher is the little finger, the only one that can get in your ear.
Just before Jesus surrendered Himself as the sacrificial Lamb, He took His disciples to the garden of Gethsemane and said, "What, could you not watch with Me one hour?"
"Gethsemane" means "olive-press," Only those who have been pressed and pressured by the "hand" of God - (His government and divine order) - will participate in the third anointing. A genuine apostle or prophet will not tell God's children what they want to hear, but rather, like a good parent, what they need to hear. A real man or woman of God will rub you the right way - toward God.
Stay with the vision. You will become a vital part of a glorious church that will be anointed three times - you will see God's presence and glory poured out, smeared on and rubbed in.
Little Children delight in the first dimension of the anointing. As the refreshing of the Spirit is poured out, it flows over them exciting their senses and they feel good. Spiritual Adolescents seek for more - and find that the anointing will empower them for limited service - yet they cling to this second realm. But there are those mature ones who earnestly desire the full in-working of the Spirit found only in the third dimension of the corporate anointing. They are determined to pursue Him; regardless of how severe the process of death to self is, in order that Christ alone be seen in them.
The Importance of Unity
Matthew 9:35-36 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
The Importance of Unity
Psalm 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Psalm 133 is known as the psalm of unity and it is not coincidence that the psalm has three verses, for in the number 3, we have the number of divine completeness and perfect witness. 2 Cor. 13:1 This will be the third time I am coming to you. "By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established."
Ephesians 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Unity Defined: Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
The unity that God wants is not uniformity, imitation or compromise of doctrinal beliefs. It is a baptism into the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
Unity Described: Like the Oil: the oil spoken of is the anointing oil which the bible gives specific ingredients and quantities to be used - myrrh, cinnamon, calamus, cassia mixed with the oil of the olive. This oil was not to be imitated nor poured upon any flesh. All these elements mixed together became one oil that was used in the anointing of people in ministry and the vessels of the sanctuary. Five speaks of Grace – the oil itself the Holy Spirit – so by grace are we saved then baptized into one body by The Holy Spirit – so IN THE SPIRIT we find true unity and power to be.
Upon the Head: Aaron’s head which is typical of our great High Priest – Jesus - Ephes. 1:22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church – so we to receive the Holy Spirit through the work of Christ on the cross –
He comes sent from the head - John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
Running down: the garments always speak of ministry, the ministry of Jesus should affect our ministry and lifestyle bringing us into the unity of the brethren - Ephes. 4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man,
to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ
Like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion:
Hermon was a mountain which flourished because of the heavy dew that rested upon it, a fruitful place – the mountains of Zion tended to be barren and lifeless – so the first message this picture displays is one that unity makes the barren and lifeless place fruitful.
The second message of this illustration was the prophetic dividing of Gods people – Hermon was located in the area later to be inhabited by the northern tribes (Israel) and Zion became the habitation of the two southern tribes, Judah and Benjamin, a warning of division.
Unity Delivers: For there the LORD commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore. Life: the blessing of unity is life – blessing here means prosperity – prosperity of what – life – defined as alive; fresh; strong; living, to preserve, quicken, recover, repair, restore.
Strength: life is also defined as strength – so unity will also bring strength to hold on – a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Matthew 12:25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
