I. EXORDIUM:
How many times do you pray? Countless times. Whenever I'm alone I pray in tongues or whenever in daily devotions. I still need to frequent my prayer more times as the day is nearing.
Matthew 6:8 (Amplified Bible)
6:8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Hebrews 10:25 (Amplified Bible)
10:25 Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.
II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:
Believers
III. OBJECTIVES:
To show that we need to pray more frequently with primary goals in mind as we commune with GOD, we become like Him, not to be heard because that's our secondary goal.
IV. TEXT:
Psalms 55:17 (Amplified Bible)
55:17 Evening and morning and at noon will I utter my complaint and moan and sigh, and He will hear my voice.
Psalms 55:17 (King James Version)
55:17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
V. THESIS:
Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You taught me how to pray everytime we pray, we only learn how to pray more effectively by praying with You and Your HOLY SPIRIT. Dear HOLY SPIRIT use our tongue to pray more to the FATHER GOD in JESUS's Name.

D. To whom written: Sometimes to GOD, sometimes to author
E. Main Themes: praise and worship, prayer and praise
Psalms 55 is a maschil (instructive poem) of David
VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Three times a day: David prays: Evening, morning and noon
"Evening and morning and at noon will I utter my complaint and moan and sigh,"
Matthew Henry says "Prayer is a salve for every sore and a relief to the spirit under every burden."
Every human being is sick with sin when born into this world and He needs healing from the LORD, when He prays this sickness is relieved. Only GOD can relieve a spirit as well. GOD does this when we pray.
Morning or "boker" in Hebrew which means break of day from 6am onwards.
Evening or "ereb" in Hebrew which means dusk - tending to darkness from 6pm onwards.
Noon or "tsohar" in Hebrew which means dual double light, midday, noon - 12 noon or lunch time.
So even King David busy as he is, because by profession he is king, is praying 6am, 12noon at lunch time and 6pm onwards till evening. We can also do this because we're not as busy as King David.
Pray or "syach" in Hebrew which means:
1. to ponder - to weigh in the mind; to consider and compare the circumstances or consequences of an event, or the importance of the reasons for or against a decision (silent prayer, only GOD and you knows it)
2. to converse - a loud prayer
3. to utter - to speak; to pronounce; to express; as, to utter words; to utter sounds.
4. commune, complain, declare, meditate, muse, pray, speak, talk
Cry aloud or "hamah" in Hebrew which means:
1. to make a loud sound
2. in great commotion or tumult, to rage, war, moan, clamor
3. clamorous, concourse, cry aloud, be disquieted, loud, mourn, be moved, make a noise, rage, roar, sound, be troubled, make in tumult, tumultuous, be in an uproar
I have my enemies just across the street, scoffers who drink, smoke and gamble every Sunday cursing GOD, I pronounce what will happen to them, in that time I'm also praying. I'm doing #1 and #3 type of prayer. Modern type of praying is declaration of what will happen irregardless of circumstances or situation you face, you're declaring what the WORD merely says, not what you're feelings or five senses are seeing. Praying time is time where you can practice your faith.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (Amplified Bible)
5:7 For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (Amplified Bible)
5:17 Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly];
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (The Message)
5:17 pray all the time;
Ephesians 6:18 (The Message)
6:18 In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
1 Peter 5:7 (Amplified Bible)
5:7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
Psalms 55:22 (Amplified Bible)
55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).
Some example of people in the Bible who prayed like King David:
1. Cornelius - prays lunch time
Acts 10:30 (The Message)
10:30 Cornelius said, "Four days ago at about this time, midafternoon, I was home praying. Suddenly there was a man right in front of me, flooding the room with light.
2. Simon Peter - prays at lunch time
Acts 10:9 (The Message)
10:9 The next day as the three travelers were approaching the town, Peter went out on the balcony to pray. It was about noon.
3. Peter and John praying at 9th hour - 3pm in our time
Acts 3:1 (The Message)
3:1 One day at three o'clock in the afternoon, Peter and John were on their way into the Temple for prayer meeting.
4. Paul, Silas and Timothy praying night and day
1 Thessalonians 3:10 (Amplified Bible)
3:10 [And we] continue to pray especially and with most intense earnestness night and day that we may see you face to face and mend and make good whatever may be imperfect and lacking in your faith.
There's no official time in prayer, as long as you need to pray, then pray wherever you are. Giving praises and thanksgiving to GOD as well is prayer. It's communing with GOD. It's where we draw our strength.
In the midst of my enemies, I still pray, that's what must be our response. We're declaring what's going to happen to them. The point is not that they could hear it and do something about it, the point is it's declaration, it's giving them time to repent (change of mind) even if you don't know there's no hope for them of changing their minds.
B. GOD hears our prayers.
"and He will hear my voice"
Hear or "shama" in Hebrew which means:
1. to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively to tell, etc.)
2. proclaim (-ation), publish, regard, report, shew (forth), (make a) sound, X surely, tell, understand, whosoever [heareth], witness
Voice or "qol qol" in Hebrew which means:
1. to call aloud: voice or sound
2. bleating - to cry or bleat as sheep
When we pray our voice sounds like a lot of that of a sheep. We understood this because we are blind sheep that needs desperately (1) the LORD JESUS - the Good Shepherd, (2) His leading, and (3) His upbringing.
Isaiah 42:16 (Amplified Bible)
42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known. I will make darkness into light before them and make uneven places into a plain. These things I have determined to do [for them]; and I will not leave them forsaken.
Isaiah 65:24 (Amplified Bible)
65:24 And it shall be that before they call I will answer; and while they are yet speaking I will hear.
Isaiah 30:19 (Amplified Bible)
30:19 O people who dwell in Zion at Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you.
Isaiah 58:9 (Amplified Bible)
58:9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh, unjust, and wicked speaking,
Matthew 6:7-8 (Amplified Bible)
6:7 And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking.
6:8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Jeremiah 33:3 (Amplified Bible)
33:3 Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).

Luke 11:1 (Amplified Bible)
11:1 THEN HE was praying in a certain place; and when He stopped, one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray, [just] as John taught his disciples.
The disciples were so impressed more with JESUS personal and private prayers that His preachings that they wanted to learn how to pray like JESUS prayed and not how JESUS preached.
IX. CONCLUSION:
It's no longer necessary to pray if our goal is only to be heard by GOD for GOD already knew what we need before we ask Him, the goal to constant prayer is for us to commune with GOD constantly to be like Him. Who is our frequent company the one we talk to, whoever that is, you are made like that person. That's why GOD said "Do not be like them" but be like Me (JESUS CHRIST)
Matthew 6:8 (Amplified Bible)
6:8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
1 Corinthians 15:33 (Amplified Bible)
15:33 Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character.
