Are you a successful spiritual leader but failed as a father? for fathers only, you will fail if you don't rear your children in the training, discipline and counsel and admonition of the LORD.

To show that if the LORD will make you a successful leader, be successful first with your family.

1 Samuel 8:3 (Amplified Bible)
8:3 His sons did not walk in his ways, but turned aside after gain, took bribes, and perverted justice.

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You are my Father and as a Father you take care of me and my sons.

Our relationship with the LORD JESUS is the only thing in this world that can save us from hell, and it's all personal and private. It was not mentioned but the sons of Samuel might be trusting in Samuel's holiness and being near with GOD, but it's not. It's for own soul's sake that you come to the LORD and it will not cover your family, your sons and even your relatives. Your family and other family members need to know the LORD personally and accept Him as Lord and Savior of their lives in a personal basis.
Illustration: Parents of a priest were glad because their son is a priest so that their son will save them from purgatory. But the problem is there's no purgatory.
A. Samuel's sons did not walk in Samuel's ways
"His sons did not walk in his ways,"
First example is Absalom: Absalom fought with his father King David long before he was seated on the throne, and he got the throne by robbery and oppression.

15:4 Absalom added, Oh, that I were judge in the land! Then every man with any suit or cause might come to me and I would do him justice!

B. Samuel's sons turned aside after the following:
1. gain
2. took bribes
3. perverted justice
"but turned aside after gain, took bribes, and perverted justice"
The three sins of Samuel's sons are gain (greed), bribes and perversion of justice. It's all about greed and covetousness. These are example but should not be that the sins of the father are transferred to the sons. Samuel's father has not been faithful in rearing Samuel before the LORD, and Samuel has no one to imitate but Eli who also is careless in rearing his sons to the LORD. So make a change in your environment and make sure you pray to the FATHER to discipline and take care of you instead.

22:10 I was cast upon You from my very birth; from my mother’s womb You have been my God.

IX. CONCLUSION:
Prophet Samuel was very successful as the last judge and spiritual leader of GOD's people but he's not a successful father. Always bring your wife and children where you go, and let them attend all the seminars and worship services that you attend.
