6:1 NOW THIS is the instruction, the laws, and the precepts which the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that you might do them in the land to which you go to possess it,
6:2 That you may [reverently] fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son’s son, and keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.
6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and be watchful to do them, that it may be well with you and that you may increase exceedingly, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
6:4 Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord [the only Lord].
VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Fear the LORD our GOD
"And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you but [reverently] to fear the Lord your God,"
Acts 9:31 (Amplified Bible)
9:31 So the church throughout the whole of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was edified [growing in wisdom, virtue, and piety] and walking in the respect and reverential fear of the Lord and in the consolation and exhortation of the Holy Spirit, continued to increase and was multiplied.
1 Peter 1:17 (Amplified Bible)
1:17 And if you call upon Him as [your] Father Who judges each one impartially according to what he does, [then] you should conduct yourselves with true reverence throughout the time of your temporary residence [on the earth, whether long or short].
B. Walk in all GOD's ways
"[that is] to walk in all His ways,"
Titus 2:11-12 (Amplified Bible)
2:11 For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind.
2:12 It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world,
1 Peter 1:15-16 (Amplified Bible)
1:15 But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living.
1:16 For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.
C. Love the LORD
"and to love Him,"
1 John 4:19-20 (Amplified Bible)
4:19 We love Him, because He first loved us.
4:20 If anyone says, I love God, and hates (detests, abominates) his brother [in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen.
Romans 8:28 (Amplified Bible)
8:28 We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
D. Serve the LORD will all heart and soul
"and to serve the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being,"
Romans 1:9 (Amplified Bible)
1:9 For God is my witness, Whom I serve with my [whole] spirit [rendering priestly and spiritual service] in [preaching] the Gospel and [telling] the good news of His Son, how incessantly I always mention you when at my prayers.
Hebrews 12:28 (Amplified Bible)
12:28 Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe;
1 Corinthians 15:58 (Amplified Bible)
15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose].
E. Keep GOD's commandments for our own good
"To keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?"
Proverbs 9:12 (Amplified Bible)
9:12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scorn, you alone will bear it and pay the penalty.
Jeremiah 32:39 (Amplified Bible)
32:39 And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may [reverently] fear Me forever for the good of themselves and of their children after them.
James 1:25 (Amplified Bible)
1:25 But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).
IX. CONCLUSION:
After relationship comes service.
Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS because You first loved us, and by Your Grace, You are able to fear GOD, You are able to walk in all GOD's ways, You are able to love GOD, You are able to serve GOD, You are able to keep GOD's commandment and You all did it for us and on our behalf and inside of us.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 (Amplified Bible)
2:13 And we also [especially] thank God continually for this, that when you received the message of God [which you heard] from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the Word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and trust in and rely on it].
