Promises and Parallel verses:
John 1:16 (New Century Version)
1:16 Because he was full of grace and truth, from him we all received one gift after another.
2 Peter 1:3 (New Century Version)
1:3 Jesus has the power of God, by which he has given us everything we need to live and to serve God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus called us by his glory and goodness.
Hebrews 13:20 (New Century Version)
13:20 I pray that the God of peace will give you every good thing you need so you can do what he wants. God raised from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, because of the blood of his death. His blood began the eternal agreement that God made with his people. I pray that God will do in us what pleases him, through Jesus Christ, and to him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 1:3 (New Century Version)

VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. How Great is GOD's Goodness
"Oh, how great is Your goodness,"
Great or "rab" in Hebrew meaning:
1. Abundant in quantity, size, age, number, rank, quality
2. Exceedingly
3. plenteous, populous, prince
Goodness or "toob" in Hebrew meaning:
1. goodness - superlatively concrete, the best
2. beauty, goodness, welfare
Psalms 34:8 (Amplified Bible)
34:8 O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.
Psalms 36:7-10 (Amplified Bible)
36:7 How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
36:8 They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures.
36:9 For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.
36:10 O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart.
1 Corinthians 2:9 (Amplified Bible)
2:9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].
1 John 3:1-2 (Amplified Bible)
3:1 SEE WHAT [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.
3:2 Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.
Illustration: The wealthy business tycoons teaches their children by hiring them first at the bottom position and let them do hard work to earn their position and salary. Wicked fathers that gives snake to their children asking for fish. Their children ask for food but they gave them death. Hard work is death on earth.
Luke 16:15 (New Century Version)
16:15 He said to them, “You make yourselves look good in front of people, but God knows what is really in your hearts. What is important to people is hateful in God’s sight.
Proverbs 10:22 (Today's English Version)
10:22 It is the Lord's blessing that makes you wealthy. Hard work can make you no richer.
Habakkuk 2:5-7 (Amplified Bible)
2:5 Moreover, wine and wealth are treacherous; the proud man [the Chaldean invader] is restless and cannot stay at home. His appetite is large like that of Sheol and [his greed] is like death and cannot be satisfied; he gathers to himself all nations and collects all people as if he owned them.
2:6 Shall not all these [victims of his greed] take up a taunt against him and in scoffing derision of him say, Woe to him who piles up that which is not his! [How long will he possess it?] And [woe to him] who loads himself with promissory notes for usury!
2:7 Shall [your debtors] not rise up suddenly who shall bite you, exacting usury of you, and those awake who will vex you [toss you to and fro and make you tremble violently]? Then you will be booty for them.
Mark 8:36 (Amplified Bible)
8:36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life [in the eternal kingdom of God]?
Luke 11:11-13 (Amplified Bible)
11:11 What father among you, if his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent?
11:12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
11:13 If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!
A labourer is cursed by more labours, but a believer is blessed with gifts after gifts.
Romans 4:4-7 (Amplified Bible)
4:4 Now to a laborer, his wages are not counted as a favor or a gift, but as an obligation (something owed to him).
4:5 But to one who, not working [by the Law], trusts (believes fully) in Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (the standing acceptable to God).
4:6 Thus David congratulates the man and pronounces a blessing on him to whom God credits righteousness apart from the works he does:
4:7 Blessed and happy and to be envied are those whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered up and completely buried.
B. Laid up for the GOD-fearing
"which You have laid up for those who fear, revere, and worship You, goodness which You have wrought for those who trust and take refuge in You before the sons of men!"
Laid up or "tsaphan" in Hebrew meaning:
1. to hide
2. to hoard or reserve
3. to deny and protect
4. to lay up, to keep in a secret place
Wrought or "paal" in Hebrew meaning:
1. to do or make
2. to practise
3. to commit
4. to ordain
Wrought (Webster Dictionary) - worked, effected, performed, labored in, performed, produced.
Work, toil, sweat, and pain just to eat your food is part of the curse after the fall of man. Since we are GOD's children, we no longer of this world, curse was removed from us.
Genesis 3:17-19 (Amplified Bible)
3:17 And to Adam He said, Because you have listened and given heed to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it, the ground is under a curse because of you; in sorrow and toil shall you eat [of the fruits] of it all the days of your life.
3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth for you, and you shall eat the plants of the field.
3:19 In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you shall return.
Galatians 3:13 (Amplified Bible)
3:13 Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified);
GOD lays up His Great Goodness for His children but it is a foolish thing for a mere man to lay up riches for himself. GOD stores up Great Goodness for His children, while the fool stores up wealth for himself.
Luke 12:15-21 (Amplified Bible)
12:15 And He said to them, Guard yourselves and keep free from all covetousness (the immoderate desire for wealth, the greedy longing to have more); for a man’s life does not consist in and is not derived from possessing overflowing abundance or that which is over and above his needs.
12:16 Then He told them a parable, saying, The land of a rich man was fertile and yielded plentifully.
12:17 And he considered and debated within himself, What shall I do? I have no place [in which] to gather together my harvest.
12:18 And he said, I will do this: I will pull down my storehouses and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain or produce and my goods.
12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many good things laid up, [enough] for many years. Take your ease; eat, drink, and enjoy yourself merrily.
12:20 But God said to him, You fool! This very night they [the messengers of God] will demand your soul of you; and all the things that you have prepared, whose will they be?
12:21 So it is with the one who continues to lay up and hoard possessions for himself and is not rich [in his relation] to God [this is how he fares].
That's why GOD is the One who works for us to prosper and make us successful.
2 Corinthians 9:8 (New Century Version)
9:8 And God can give you more blessings than you need. Then you will always have plenty of everything—enough to give to every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:10-12 (New Century Version)
9:10 God is the One who gives seed to the farmer and bread for food. He will give you all the seed you need and make it grow so there will be a great harvest from your goodness.
9:11 He will make you rich in every way so that you can always give freely. And your giving through us will cause many to give thanks to God.
9:12 This service you do not only helps the needs of God’s people, it also brings many more thanks to God.
Philippians 2:13 (New Century Version)
2:13 because God is working in you to help you want to do and be able to do what pleases him.
1 Thessalonians 5:24 (New Century Version)
5:24 You can trust the One who calls you to do that for you.
IX. CONCLUSION:
If GOD will do everything for us, His children in His Great Goodness, then what are we to do on earth? Praise, worship, thanks, give glory, give honor GOD. Be a channel of blessings for others - share the wealth with others.
GOD laid up His Great Goodness upon us and is the One who labored and worked for us. We enjoy His Great Goodness and share it to others.
Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for Your Great Goodness that You have store up for us so we can share Your Great Goodness to others as well.
