Seven more disasters for your sins !
We love the word BLESSING,
We hate the word PUNISHMENT,
We love to hear His PROMISES,
But we debate/argue when we hear about His JUDGMENT
We love to see Jesus as INFANT BABY
But the truth is He will be coming back as a JUDGE!
Leviticus 26:21”If even then you remain hostile towards me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins.”
I dread to write verse 22, with trembling hands I type: “I will let loose the wild beasts against you, which shall bereave you of your children…..” I know this devotion will/may make me unpopular and also may be shun me; yet, I have the responsibility of preaching the Word of God than pleasing people!
Friend, in verse 14 God talks about “the soul despising His rules”, this is outrageous sin which the Lord hates. Carelessly indulging in sin is something but deliberately sinning against God is horrible! A Christian man with three kids, had married both his wife and his sister and had children from them; he cunningly lives a dual life, yet moves close with the pastor, attends revival crusades and comes to the altar to be prayed. It is not just adultery but this Christian man also indulges in dishonest financial dealings and messes up the peace in the family. The entire family along with his daughter-in-laws had attended my meetings several times, yet, he had the audacity to come to me, request me for prayer but the moment he leaves the premises of the church he would get back to his devilish ways. He had no intention of rectifying his life! This is what you call as despising His commandments! This is serious sin! Rectify!
A young Christian girl who had in her earlier days sang in the choir and attended church, slowly stopped attending church because she had moved far away from the church. When you stop attending church, you slowly move away from God and the devil moves in to dwell in your heart! Are you listening? Listen! She started dating a hindu boy and moved in to live with him and then later when she got pregnant she married him and lived in a house that had idols. On a particular day when it was Easter Sunday, I asked her if she was going to church, she replied, ‘I have no time to go to church neither do I have time to read the Bible.’
Hebrews 10:26”For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.”
Let me finish with saying, God warns, ‘I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins’ not to destroy you but to bring you to repentance!
Rev Billy Graham said."People who follow the broad path are shallow. The path they choose is riddled with compromise. Standing for Christ means that you will walk the narrow way and stand for righteousness."( Extract from his Book "The reason for my hope")
