"Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him." (Hebrews 10:38).
NOTICE:- "...the just shall live by faith..." it did not say the just shall escape by faith. No! don't wait until there is a challenge before you start dusting out your faith from the rusted box in your past. Fresh faith for a fresh life is what is needed in Christ. His word must be rolling in constantly and building you up.
A young man once met me and said "My faith will bring me out". Well I added and it will also keep you out of it as along as you remain in faith. We do not use our faith as an escape route from evil. No! we are to live by it.
The scriptures declares "...and this is the VICTORY even our FAITH" (1 John 5:4) therefore as long as you are in faith, you are in victory, but when you walk out of faith, you have also walked out of victory. I choose to remain under the shield of faith rather exposing myself to dangers and later on running back to get the shield after the damage have been done.
FAITH IS TO BE COMPARED TO BREATHING.
"... the just shall live by faith..." (Hebrews 10:38)
Imagine yourself trying to live without breathing, there is no telling the kind of difficulties you will encounter. In-fact the first few minutes of staying out of breath will make your life a living hell; the same applies to faith. Living without faith will do to you what living without breath can do. Now the Word of God is to be compared to the oxygen, breathing is our faith. In the same way, when you take in the word (oxygen) by Faith(breathing), living the God-life becomes easy and natural.
Now breathing works in two parts
(1) Inhaling - You take in the Word
(2) Exhaling - Flush out the doubts and fears
You dont just breath once and say that is all i need for the next 3 months, until i feel like passing out and dying then I will breath again. No! You constantly engage in the process of inhaling and exhaling. The word of God should be at work in you constantly.
The scriptures declares "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17) (If it comes by hearing, in the same way it can go by not hearing by the word." If you begin to hear by the word of doubts, and despair, I do not think faith will show up, therefore don't be surprise when panic attacks, fear and timidity starts showing up in your life.
Lets take a more deeper out look at this scripture: "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God". The word "hearing" occurred twice, firstly you would have to hear something! and it should be as a result of what the Word talks about. For example:- We were all in church, while a minister stood and read the Word saying "No weapon fashioned against you shall prosper..." (Isaiah 54:17). Immediately I heard something! In my spirit, I got it "I am protected beyond all the arsenals of the enemy" but I did not hear it from someone trying to juice me up; No! it came from hearing the by the Word of God.
Learn to open up your ears at the altar of the Word; you will hear something that will drive out that fear from your life. After a while; as I walk through the week, I came in contact with a huddle that challenges my believe system but I've heard something by the Word, i have been mediating on it; It now remains as a living attitude at work in me, I naturally react by saying "Nothing has the capacity to hurt me" It is now faith at work. It came from what I heard in (Isaiah 54:17).
I pray for you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; that the eyes of your understanding be enlighten and that you might know how to utilize what you have been given freely in Christ.
