Utterly Destroy Evil Spirits

Deuteronomy 7:1-2 " When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them"
Opening :- How many of you appreciate an opportunity rather it is an opportunity for a better life a promotion or an investment opportunity. An opportunity to travel or experience something you have never experienced before.
Opportunity is a time that you can take advantage of a situation.
There is an old saying that goes opportunity knocks only once, that’s true in some things but not always. In this spiritual battle of this Christian walk we have great opportunity. We have the opportunity to witness and tell others about the goodness of God. We have the opportunity to share the manifested blessings of God. We have the opportunity to rejoice with other Christians the wonderful works of God. However; there is one opportunity that we can have many times over and over again and that is the opportunity to defeat the devil giving him a spiritual black eye.
The problem is many often miss out on this opportunity simply because they fail to see it as an opportunity and view it has a problem, as chaos, as a situation that is something astronomical and out of their ability to handle. Sadly they look at the opportunity as everything other than what it really is. They view it as a problem when it’s not a problem but an opportunity to receive victory. The problem lies in not walking in the spirit but operating in the flesh.
Understand :- walking in the spirit is not consistently walking around speaking in tongues or shouting 24/7, that's schizophrenia, but it is the ability to walk in the spiritual authority to conquer that which is not holy.
WATCH THIS :- The Bible says the carnal mind (fleshly thinking) is enmity against God. Romans 8:7. Romans 7:18 says " For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing". So we need to need to understand how to take advantage of the opportunity to crucify flesh (carnal thinking) give the devil a black eye and live in a glorious life.
SOMEBODY SAY OPPORTUNITY
According to the dictionary an opportunity is a situation in which it is possible for something to be done.
WATCH THIS:- The Children of Israel had an opportunity to enter into the promise land literally in a matter of days in which they could have lived in glorious victory, but they failed to take advantage of that opportunity and ended up wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. When they finally are able to take advantage of the promise everyone over 21 years old was now dead except Joshua and Caleb. All the original ones to come up out of Egypt missed out on the opportunity to enter into the promise land, the ones that entered into the promise land had the opportunity to live in glorious victory but they had to take advantage of the opportunity to walk in the spirit victoriously or they would miss out on what God had for them.
Now somebody might be saying o.k. Bishop how is the Children of Israel failing to take advantage of an opportunity affect me? I am glad you asked that question!
UNDERSTAND :- that the Old Testament is a type or shadow to the New Testament and is still relevant today. It is our road map and example to be able to live, walk, and worship victoriously. Just as the Children of Israel were physically going to inherit the promise land we the church are going to spiritually inherit a promise land. WATCH THIS :- Jesus said to His disciples, the foundation of the church and Him the chief cornerstone, I go to prepare a place for you that where I am there you may be also! That is our promise land!!!! Where He is there we will be also.
So He tells the Children of Israel in Deuteronomy 7:1-2 " When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them." UTTERLY DESTROY THEM is the opportunity.
WATCH THIS :- They were to utterly destroy 7 physical nations. UTTERLY :- means to completely, absolutely, entirely, to the fullest extent, all. The reason they had to do this is Deuteronomy 7:6 " For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God". If they did not utterly destroy these nations of people in time they would cause the Children of Israel to turn from worshipping God and start worshipping idols and profane that which is holy unto the Lord.
WATCH THIS :- The command to utterly destroy the seven nations under the Old Covenant finds a very different form in the New Covenant. The command to utterly kill people is fulfilled not by killing people but by making disciples and living victoriously. Utterly destroy physically make disciple will utterly destroy that sin nature. However, just like the Children of Israel had to utterly destroy these 7 nations there are 7 spirits that we, the church, and every individual must utterly destroy in order to inherit victoriously the promise land.
The 7 nations were the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. These are also the 7 spirits that we must utterly destroy, the Hittite Spirit, the Girgashites Spirit, the Canaanite Spirit, the Amorite Spirit, the Jebusite Spirit, the Perizzite and Hivite Spirit.
Today we are going to learn about taking advantage of opportunities to utterly destroy evil spirits, give the devil a black eye, and live in glorious victory. I am going to discuss these 7 spirits not in the exact order they are in the Bible but I want you to see and understand how these spirits operate and how we must take advantage of the opportunity to UTTERLY DESTROY THEM AND RECEIVE VICTORY?
1). The Girgashite Spirit :- Girgashite has Two meanings 1). "One who turns back froma pilgrimage" which is the spirit of backsliding & 2). "Clay Dwellers" which refers to dwelling in earthliness. It focuses on the earthly temporal things. This spirit seeks to turn us back from obeying and following God and to become earthly and sensually evil again. This Girgashite spirit pursues and persuades us to turn from our eternal inheritance, back to the darkness and bondage of sin that we have been delivered from. The Girgashite Spirit is all about me me me and more me.
WATCH THIS :- clay dwellers. Clay is defined as a fine grained soil, soil is the top layer of the earth's surface a particular type of earth or ground. Genesis 2:7 says " And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul". The New English Translation says "The Lord God formed the man from the soil of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life into him. And the man became a living person". The Girgashite Spirit is a clay dwelling spirit, selfish spirit.
WATCH THIS :- Jesus heals a woman on the Sabbath that was bent over for 18 years. The Bible said she had a spirit of infirmity, which is a Girgashite spirit. WATCH :- she had been bent over for 18 long years. Because she was bent over her focus, her vision was in the ground, prophetically speaking her vision was in flesh because man was created from the dust of the ground. 18 years, 18 is a multiple of 6. 6+6+6 is 18. 666 is the number of the beast, represents the antichrist spirit, the flesh nature. Revelation 13:18 says " Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six". 6 is the number of man, man was created on the sixth day, 6 is 1 less than 7. 7 is God's perfect number 6 is man without God (1). This woman (remember woman in prophecy represents the church, the ecclesia, the called out ones) this woman the church was operating in a Girgashite spirit her focus was in herself for the Bible says "she could in wise lift herself up" . She had to change her focus. Her infirmity was not a sickness but a spirit that caused her to be bent over depending upon herself. The Girgashite spirit is often called a pig spirit because a pig is unable to lift its head and look up toward the sky, it's focus is always on the ground. It doesn't matter how much you clean a pig it will always return to the mud for it is a mud dweller. But let me show you something even about a pig, when given the opportunity to utterly destroy the Girgashite spirit, it takes advantage of the opportunity. Matthew 8:28 says " And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way". Gergesenes is a later name for Girgashite, they were descendants of the Girgashites. The Girgashite spirit had a hold on the people. The possessed man terrorized them, they could not bind him with chains, he would cause all kind of terror and confusion in the lives of the people, but one day Jesus came, the possessed came running to Jesus and the demons in him cried out and asked Jesus not to torment them before their time. Jesus said what is your name, they said legion for we are many, Jesus told the demons they had to leave the man, they said lets us go into the swine. Jesus said go so the legion of demons anywhere from 2000 to 6000 demons went and possessed the swine (PIGS). The pigs realized wait a minute something inside of me just isn't right, I got to take this opportunity to utterly destroy it so they ran violently down the hillside and drowned themselves in the sea. Even the pigs knew they had to utterly destroy that spirit inside of them. When the people heard what had happened they didn't praise God for the man being delivered, they were not thankful for they would not be terrorized by him again, instead of taking the opportunity to praise the Lord they began to complain look what you have done, you messed with my money, you upset my lifestyle, you destroyed my lively hood what am I going to do now. All they could focus on was themselves it’s all about me. You have to leave here because you are messing with me. We need to be like the pigs and utterly destroy the Girgashite spirit. Bishop, do I have to kill myself to get rid of the Girgashite spirit, NO, that's another spirit I am going to deal with. But how do I utterly destroy the Girgashite spirit? You must crucify flesh. WATCH THIS :- So what things didn't go the way you thought they should go or according to your plans but everything turned out alright, don't get upset but take the opportunity to give the devil a black eye. Don't throw in the towel, don' t say I am not going to do anything else, don't sit down,. You might have to suffer the wrong so right may prevail, do it and utterly destroy that Girgashite spirit because it’s not about you but it’s about Jesus. How come you didn’t' t call on me utterly destroy that spirit and live in glorious victory.
2). THE CANAANITE SPIRIT:- Canaanite means lowlands people referring to low earthly passions, such as sexual perversions, addictions, and people pleasing. Understand I am not talking about people but spirits that people operate in. The spirit of homosexualism, lesbianism, and other sexual perversions are Canaanite spirits - it is this spirit that caused Sodom and Gomorrah to be destroyed. The Canaanite spirit has a passion and desire for the things that would defile the Temple of the Holy Ghost - your body. 1st Corinthians 3:17 says " If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are".
The Canaanite spirit operates through people emotions and tries to sift or confuse a person mind. Jesus told Peter in Luke 22:31 " And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat". that means to mix up and confuse your mind. WATCH THIS :- it’s in the mind that the conscience resides, your conscience understands the laws of God and applies them with wisdom to make judgments. In other words it is that voice down on the inside that says you know you should not do this, this is not right in God's sight. If you do not take the opportunity to utterly destroy this Canaanite spirit your conscience will be seared with a hot iron you will call wrong right and right wrong. You will accept moral wrongs, you will shut off inhibitions. You will be led by carnal excess and indulgences. You will get rid of the voice of reason and God's righteous judgment and operate in a false since of grace, thinking that grace will always abound so you can continue in sin. You will believe and act with this attitude it doesn't matter what I do God understands. I hate to inform you NO HE DOESN'T!!!!!!!.
The Canaanite spirit wants to destroy all thoughts of righteous judgment, it wants to deceive you of who you are and what you are, it wants to distort your emotions. This spirit if not utterly destroyed will destroy your potential of who you could have been in God's army. WATCH THIS :- The Children of Israel are infected with the Canaanite spirit. Moses is up on the mountain literally receiving the Ten Commandments from God. The Canaanite spirit is operating in the Children of Israel, they tell Aaron to make them an idol god so they can worship it for bringing them out of Egypt. Aaron affected by the Canaanite spirit to please people instead of embracing God makes a golden calf. The people under the influence of the Canaanite spirit begin to have an orgy which is the spirit of sexual perversion in the name of religion. When Moses comes down from the mountain and sees what is going on he says who is on the Lord's side let him come to me. All the sons of Levi are joined to Moses. It was the tribe of Levi that become the priest - just imagine what the rest of them could have become if they utterly destroyed the Canaanite spirit, but instead 3000 souls were destroyed because the Canaanite spirit was operating in them and they didn't destroy it. The Canaanite spirit wants to destroy your potential your life could be so much more meaningful if you utterly destroy the Canaanite spirit. You don' have to be addicted to drugs, alcohol, pornography, gambling or anything utterly destroy that spirit.
3). THE JEBUSITE SPIRIT :- Jebusite means threshing, trodden down and polluted. It operates in discouragement and rejection. The Jebusite spirit is determined to keep God's people feeling down. The main desire of the Jebusite spirit is to beat the Christian down by guilt and condemnation until our faith, hope, and trust in God is destroyed beyond any hope of recovery. One way this is done is by the constant accusations of past failures and sins. The Jebusite spirit causes a person to be quick in putting someone down and to humiliate others, they like to make people feel small. Throughout scripture the Jebusite spirit has been working havoc and destruction against the people of God. It was the Jebusite spirit behind the Crusades where thousands of Christians were killed. The Jebusite spirit has defiled and trodden down God's temple mount to the point a foreign false mosque dedicated to a false god stands today in the place were God has put his name. I am talking about the Dome of the Rock.
The Jebusite spirit causes division in the church - that's why you have Traditional service at 8 and Contemporary service at 11, you think you are reaching more people, but it really is the Jebusite spirit that is trying to divide the House of God, they don't worship the way we do so we have to separate and have service our way, that is division and the Jebusite spirit understands that a house divided will fall. The Jebusite spirit will trod on people until the point it will cause people to say well I have been here a long time and you are new, it's a spirit of prejudice and racism. The Jebusite spirit will take every opportunity to sow rejection. UNDERSTAND THAT :- If a person perceives they are being rejected or denied love and acceptance, within that person rejection is real even if that is not what was intended.
The Jebusite spirit is determined to make a person feel what's the use, why should I even try. WATCH THIS :- That's why you don't criticize the person you criticize their actions, because you can sow the Jebusite spirit and destroy that person with rejection. So what they don't dress the way you think they should, so what they don't act the way you think they should act. So what they don't do things the way you think they should do it - take the opportunity to utterly destroy the Jebusite spirit shut your mouth and keep on pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus.
The Jebusite spirits main desire is to produce discouragement in a person causing them to give up, stop doing that, and sit down not be involved. In 2 Samuel 5:6 David is coming against Jebus, which will become Jerusalem, the King Adoni-Zedek (meaning lord of righteousness) is so accustomed to beating down the people that he tells David that even the lame and weak of the city will not allow them to come in and take the city, you don't have enough strength, you don't have the kind of education, you don't pronounce your words the way I do, you don't understand the way we operate. The Jebusite spirit is a powerful liar that causes people to choose feelings over the blood of Jesus. The Jebusite spirit it what causes people to say the lie of well I was born this way. The Jebusite spirit will make a person feel like they have nothing to offer the Lord, I can't sing like they can, I can't speak like they can, what can I offer to the Lord. You need to utterly destroy the Jebusite spirit.
4). THE AMORITE SPIRIT :- AMORITE means mountain people, renowned, to speak or boast of self. It is obsessed with earthly fame and glory. It is a very domineering spirit that focuses on control, control, and more control. This spirit operates through people who are fame seekers, those that manipulate others by their words, actions, or attitude. The Amorite spirit specializes in convincing God's people to use their mouth and tongue to speak evil or condemnation against all others in God's family. It is this spirit that causes one to speak cruelly or sarcastically to someone, to down grade one another. This spirit is very subtle and deceptive in its activities, it is so devious that many don't even realize they have yielded to it. People under the influence of the Amorite spirit love to hear their name called, they demand you listen to me and do everything I say do. The Amorite spirit wants control and wants to be seen.
I am going to get myself in trouble here but WATCH THIS ANYHOW :- the Amorite spirit is manifested when this is done "All those who will give 100 dollars stand with your offering in your hand". They try to use the opportunity to say we are trying to get a good offering, but they don't realize they have been influenced by the Amorite spirit. The Bible says in Matthew 6:1-6 " In your giving alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you they have their reward. Don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, give in secret and my father which seeth in secret shall reward you openly". We do it all the time but its the Amorite spirit that needs to be destroyed.
Let me give another example of the Amorite spirit, in Luke 18:9-14 " And he spake † this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortions, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other for everyone that exalteth himself shall be abased and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted". This man was operating under the influence of the Amorite spirit because he was expecting God to hear his prayer based on his own righteousness when all our righteousness is as filthy rags. In his prayer he condemned and criticized the one that he felt was not like him, he was boasting and seeking self-glory. There was never a chance for this prayer to be answered by God because all murmuring and complaining is a source of the Amorite spirit. It was the Amorite spirit that kept Moses from entering into the promise land, Moses began to boast in himself and Aaron and because he spoke harshly against the people and didn't do what God commanded him to do he wasn’t allowed to enter the promise land. Don't be like Moses and miss out because of the Amorite spirit. It’s not about you it’s about Jesus.
The Amorite spirit needs to be utterly destroyed if you plan to inherit the promise land.
5). THE HITTITE SPIRIT :- HITTITE means sons of terror, dread, or fear, to make afraid, scared, terrified, broken, and amazed. This spirit operates through subliminal torments, phobias, depression, and deceit. Its purpose is to destroy human lives, and all faith in God and His Word through the bondage of fear. It is this Hittite spirit that is behind nightmares and unnatural phobias like the extreme fear of dogs or the dark. GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR BUT OF LOVE POWER AND A SOUHD MIND WHEREBY WE CRY ABBA FATHER. UNDERSTAND :- FEAR IS FAITH AGAINST GOD.
The Hittite spirit works on the emotions and manifest itself in the fear of the unknown causing panic attacks and confusion. The Hittite spirit causes us to think and act irrationally. The Hittite spirit is behind suicides. It causes people to be afraid of being hurt or rejected so they build walls to so called protect themselves. These barriers take the form of procrastination and refusal. WATCH THIS :- Pastor says I need a volunteer to head up the welcoming committee you procrastinate because of fear of the unknown, can I speak to people, what if I fail, what if I mess up, I am not qualified go do that.
The Hittite spirit preys of people’s emotions, they hide in the dark trying to remain unseen, they whisper speculations into a person’s emotions. Those who slander, gossip, spread rumors have the Hittite spirit working through them. Those that discourage instead of encourage have the Hittite spirit. Those that have a un-natural desire to control the actions of others have the Hittite spirit. WATCH THIS :- here is the Hittite spirit manifested, remember Hittite means fear, terror, afraid, etc. Fear is one of the root causes of disobedience against God. Because of this Hittite spirit over 1.8 million people whom God had delivered out of the hands of bondage missed out on entering into the promise land. Exodus 12:37 says six hundred thousand men came up on foot out of Egypt. They counted the men that were able to fight. Let’s say each of these 600,000 had a wife, that’s another 600,00 and say they all had 1 child that’s another 600,000. Remember 666 is the beast nature, the anti-Christ spirit, the flesh nature. God told them to possess the land when the 12 spies came back 10 of them had a negative report and the words of fear and lack of faith in God caused them to wander in the wilderness for 40 years. All the original one the 1.8 million people that operated in the flesh and allowed the Hittite spirit to rule with fear in their lives missed out on the promise land.
You have to utterly destroy the Hitter spirit if you want to enter into the promise land.
HIVITE & PERIZZITE 6 & 7) The last 2 spirits are so closely connected that it’s hard to tell them apart. They are like the marrow and the bone, but the word of God is sharper than any two edge sword dividing asunder the marrow from the bone.
HIVITE :- means villager
PERIZZITE :- means belonging to a village.
Both of these spirits deal with smallness of self and those around them, it is the spirits behind low self-esteemed, spiritual lameness.
People operating under the influence of these spirits feel small and insignificant, they feel as though they can't accomplish anything and those around them are not able to accomplish anything either even if God has already promised the victory. These spirits destroy your faith in God causing one to deny the scripture I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.
WTCH THIS :- This Numbers 13:33 " And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers and so we were in their sight" God had already promised them the land, told them that he would drive out all the inhabitants, that they would have the victory and live in a land flowing with milk and honey, which is symbolic of wealth and goodness, but their vision of themselves was small and because of a small vision of themselves they had a small vision of the entire Children of Israel and ended up wandering in the wilderness for 40 years and remember 1.8 million if not more people missed out on the promise because of small thinking and small vision. These spirit cause you to say stuff like we are to small of a church to do that, we aren't large enough to be successful in that area. Even after God has promised us victory they see themselves as grasshoppers.
WATVH THIS :- The Hivite and Perizzite spirits make you feel unworthy, that you don't deserve what God has promised. 2 Samuel 9:5-8 says " Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar. Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! And David said unto him, Fear not for I will surely shew the kindness for Johnathan thy fathers sake and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually. And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?" After all David did and said he would do for Mephibosheth he still felt unworthy and had a small image or negative image of himself, he wasn't just physically lame but he was spiritually lame as well. The Hivite and Perizzite spirits cause people to be spiritually lame causing them not to be able to walk in the authority God has given them.
WATCH THIS :- walking in the spirit means the ability to conquer and establish kingdom, authority. Deuteronomy 11:24 says " Every place where on the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours......" Luke 10:19 says " Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you". Yet these spirits make a person a Child of God believe they are not able to conquer the evil spirits operating in their lives. Numbers 13:30 says " And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it." You must understand that you you you and you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar † people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. You don't have to be bound by the evil spirits you have the victory all you have to do is utterly destroy them.
CLOSING :- all you have to do crucify flesh daily, walk in the spiritual kingdom authority that God has given and say like David said in Psalm 51 " Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is ever before me......... Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean wash me and I shall be whiter than snow HERE WE GO :- Create in my a clean heart Of God and renew a right spirit in me". Make me over afresh again Lord. Break me and make me over again. Lord enlighten what’s dark in me, strengthen what’s weak in me, mend what’s broken in me, bind what’s bruised in me, heal what’s sick in me, revive what’s dead in me. In the name of Jesus I utterly destroy every evil spirit that is trying to keep me from reaching the promise land God has for me.
Holy Ghost help me my foot almost slipped help me. I almost cussed Holy Ghost help me. I spoke wrong toward someone Holy Ghost help me.
My self-esteem is out of order Holy Ghost help me.
My ego is out of control Holy Ghost help me.
I am feeling depressed Holy Ghost help me.
I have thoughts of suicide either physical or spiritual Holy Ghost help me.
My mind wants to go back to carnal thinking Holy Ghost help me.
I looked at her the way I shouldn't have lustfully Holy Ghost help me.
Those simple things that I once knew the memories are drawing me Holy Ghost help me.
I have been trying to do it all myself Holy Ghost help me.
I want to take every opportunity to give the devil a black eye Holy Ghost help me.
I feel like I want to throw in the towel Holy Ghost help me.
I feel pride raising in me Holy Ghost help me.
My tongue is sharp Holy Ghost help me.
My attitude is wrong Holy Ghost help me.
