To show that only the LORD can promote and demote everyone in earth. Prosperity, success, wealth, riches and promotion only comes from the LORD and not men.

Ezekiel 17:24 (Amplified Bible)
17:24 And all the trees of the field shall know (understand and realize) that I the Lord have brought low the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree flourish. I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.
V. THESIS:
Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for we experience Your promotion in every area of our lives, and the Blessor, and both the blessing of the LORD, the Provider and the provided, the Comforter and the comfort that comforted that made us rich is within us, and we focus and remember You always because You have given us ability to produce wealth and You made us channels of blessings for this world, so that their theoretical knowledge will turn into experiential knowledge with the LORD JESUS.

A. Author: Ezekiel meaning "GOD strengthens"
B. Date written: Around 565 B.C., around 22 years of the prophet's ministry
C. Purpose: To explain the LORD to His unbelieving and sinful people
D. To whom written: Jewish exiles in Babylon and GOD's people everywhere
E. Main Themes: Prophetic book like Daniel and Revelation
F. Key words: "I am the LORD"

High or "gabohha gabohha" in Hebrew meaning:

High trees represents/symbolizes powerful, arrogant, haughty, exceedingly proud people.
Low or "shapha" in Hebrew meaning:
1. depressed
2. humble, low
Low trees represents/symbolizes depressed, humble, low people.
Green or "lach" in Hebrew meaning:
1. be new
2. fresh
3. green, moist
Green trees represents/symbolizes flourishing people with their worldly wealth.
Dry or "yabesh" in Hebrew meaning: dried, dry.
Dry trees represents/symbolizes dried up or hopeless people.
Field or "sadeh saday" in Hebrew meaning:
1. spread out
2. country, field, ground, land, soil
Field represents the world or earth, more like the inhabitants of the world.

A. All people will understand, realize and recognize GOD's Promotion
"And all the trees of the field shall know (understand and realize)"
The word "know" used here is not "experiential knowledge" if it is, then all people will come to experience salvation, which is not true, this is "yada" in Hebrew meaning: know, understand, realize, recognize, acknowledge, discern, discover, be familiar. It's one thing to know, another thing to accept the LORD.
2 Peter 1:2 (Amplified Bible)
1:2 May grace (God’s favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
This knowledge is not saving faith, or belief that can save people, this is just to discern that GOD is at the back of everything that happens. This is like James 2:19. The devil can't be saved by his knowledge or belief in GOD, no deeds of obedience or actions of faith to back up his belief. The world will "know" the LORD but they will go on doing their sinful ways, their knowledge or belief will not change them.

2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).
Romans 1:21-23 (Amplified Bible)
1:21 Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.

B. The LORD demotes and promotes
"that I the Lord have brought low the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree flourish."

Illustration:
The natural man or the unbeliever or unspiritual man, works hard, labors like a cow or carabao, and even on Sundays does not go to church and labors for his so-called double pay. He wanted to impress his boss for a salary raise or high position in the company but He doesn't recognize that people can't promote people, they are merely instrument, the command to promote comes from the Real Boss in Heaven, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. The unspiritual man works for wealth that has sorrow and wealth that flies away. Yes, he will get the wealth but there's a catch - his/her soul.

10:22 The blessing of the Lord—it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].
Matthew 16:26 (Amplified Bible)
16:26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life [his blessed life in the kingdom of God]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] life [in the kingdom of God]?

While the huge difference with us, is we go to church every Sundays to meet and worship the LORD in our tithes and offerings, because we pray to the Real Boss for a blessing of the LORD that will make us rich. We now realize and focus that our GOD is the Provider not us. We don't have wealth with sorrow and wealth that flies away.

Their motivation for work is to acquire more money which is an end in itself, while we work and our work here on earth is to give praise, worship, thanksgiving, glory and honor to our BOSS, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and he makes money as our slave to do our bidding and commands money to follow us wherever we go.
