FAMINE IN THE LAND
You are once again welcome to the hour of the Trumpeter. I thank God for many souls and families who are always in wait, and following these messages since we started. Your calls and approaches towards this medium are quite encourage. If you are starting today to hear this message, always be hopeful that your life will have a turn-around, because of the revelation of the word of God you will hear. Its a moment, we are using to expose many world trends and events going on today, and understanding them in the light of the revealed word, as we see the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ drawing nearer, and also the closing of this age- the age of grace.
It may interest you to note that it is the moment, we also use to warn the unbelieving world about the coming judgement of God and demand their urgent repentance to one and only living God, Jesus Christ.
In today's episode of the trumpeter, we are going to look at a vital topic and facts which will shock you, and point you direct to what the Spirit of God is revealing and saying to this final generation. Really, there is no time to spend and to waste. Everything is pointing to the final consummation of the age.

Our lord and our God, we sincerely thank you for the provision of your word. Your word is truth and life. It is purified seven times and exalted above your name. May you use this word to change lives tonight and give direction to my listener. Bless us as we share in the depth of your knowledge and lead us in the path of your righteousness.We are weak, you are strong. As I decrease, may you increase. Thank you Lord for this privilege and grace through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Amos chapter 8 verses 11 & 12
“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord Jehovah, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of Jehovah. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east; they shall run to and fro to seek the word of Jehovah, and shall not find it”
May I start by telling us the exact picture of our world today. There is what is called FAMINE. The word you have just heard now is a state of no food in the land. You may call it, extreme scarcity of food in a family or land. It is a severe shortage of food caused by several factors, including crop failure, population unbalance or some governmental policies. The time of famine is a time of great lack, starvation, want, poverty, deficiency, scarcity and probably death. Anytime, you hear the word "Famine" you should know that things are out of shape and demands urgency, else the result will be as worse as anything.
You should know that the first famine recorded in the word of God was that of Abraham after he pitched his tent on the East of Bethel in Genesis chapter 12 verse 10. You also see the record of the great famine in the ancient civilized city of Egypt which affected the entire world in Genesis 41:53-57. Even, the case of the great famine in Samaria which arose to the extent of some women devising some techniques to survive- I mean by killing their children to eat and to survive in 2 kings chapter 6 verses 25 to 29;
And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver. And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. And he said, If Jehovah do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the threshing-floor, or out of the winepress? 28, And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to-day, and we will eat my son to-morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him; and she hath hid her son.
Friend, you should know that in the book of Matthew chapter 24 verse 7, Jesus predicted that famine shall be seen in the last days preceding His coming.
Matthew 24: 7
“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. But all these things are the beginning of travail”
So, famine is one of the signs of the end time. It should also form the beginning of sorrows. Jesus predicted that prior to his return, famines and disease would emerge to threaten our world. Famine has become a problem in the 21st century. The danger is that the population growth estimates, show the world above 7 billion and still growing, with no increase to the worldwide food supply. According to the world Food program, 925 Million people worldwide go hungry everyday and, 5 million children will die of hunger worldwide annually. It's no longer news that the worst hit is Africa. You should know that with the increase of natural disasters like recent earthquakes and tsunamis, have contributed to potential famines as the populaces struggle to obtain food. Just like the 2011 Great earthquake of Japan, there were over 20 million people in struggling, to receive food due to natural disasters.
There is famine in the land!
Now, we are seeing famine growing all around this planet. I strongly believe that there are some people hearing my voice now - I mean now, who have nothing to eat this night. This is our world. Do you know that the United Nation is warning the entire world about this food famine which is here with us and no one knows when it will end. They don't even have an answer. You can imagine! We are told that in just 20 more years, we will need to be producing 50% more food than this world is currently producing, if Jesus tarries.
Sure, we are seeing decline of availability of some food products, and rising prices are beginning to put a strain on our pocket books.
So, this is our condition now.
But Friend, I'm going to talk about a food above the natural food. There is a worse famine than food famines. Are you hearing me?
Remember, our topic, THERE IS A GREAT FAMINE IN THE LAND.
Are you seeing it? Just look around and may the Holy Spirit help us to understand what He is saying in this final hour. The prophet, Amos saw it all in the passage where we read.
Amos chapter 8 verses 11&12

Anytime you see the word, thus says The Lord, I think it calls for an attention and alertness. It is necessary and not just some of it we hear these days, when God has not said anything. Men are no longer afraid of the Almighty. These days, you here it frequently as if to say that God is a talkative. Thus says the Lord, Thus says the Lord. You come to a prophet five times a day, you will hear it more than ten times as if to say, God is a talkative, as human beings are. No Sir!- not like that, my brothers and sisters.
God said that He will send famine in the land, not a famine for bread or other basic needs of man or thirst for water, But, - mark that word, But of hearing the words of the Lord. I mean the authentic, infallible, incorruptible and unadulterated word of The Lord. He said that people shall wander from sea to sea and shall search everywhere for it and would not find it.
God is saying something to our generation here. Amos saw it and its being fulfilled in our time.
My friend, there is famine in the land.
The land here can refer to many things- name it- lives, families, nations and particularly the church of Jesus Christ. So the problem of God is not with the unbelievers per-say but His messengers or His Children in this generation without His word. Indeed, there is scarcity of food in the land.
Remember, I told you in the previous edition from the words of our Lord in Matthew chapter 4:4, during his temptation by the satan in the wilderness that Jesus replied to him that, "Bread is essential but not the most". Man shall not live by bread alone- but by EVERY word which proceeds from the Lord, meaning, my you need something above your physical food to survive and that is the word of God. The word is the sustainer of life. Take it from me!
But unfortunately, the real word with the full diet and concentrates of spiritual vitamin, mineral, fat, carbohydrate and spiritual protein is lacking in our age and time and no wonder, there is spiritual malnutrition and kwashiorkor in the body.Can't you see it? At least, you know what I'm talking about. There is fire on the mountain. Just weigh yourself in the balance and consider, if you are feeding adequately?-I mean the word with eternal content and value. Well, I'm not blaming you wholly but also blaming you. Are you eating the real diet or these junks, everywhere now? You know these foods without much balanced stuff. I think what so many of us are today, is fast-food Christians or Better- life Christians. The one Jesus referred to when He fed multitude in John chapter 6 and they wanted to make him king by force, so that He will be producing bread for them- bread manufacturer. They said, Ahaa! This is the real man, the prophet we have been expecting" He withdrew himself to the other side. They sought for him. Do you know that they purchased their fares to seek for him. Beloveth, why are you seeking Jesus now? Just say the truth! You know it,- not for salvation and eternal life. Maybe for Visa document or contract, it may be for marriage only or business transactions.
When they found Jesus, They said, "Master, so you are here, and we are looking for you? Jesus knew their thoughts and the message automatically changed. He told them of relationship with the Father- that is eating His flesh and drinking His blood" Well, as human being, their language changed, "Is this, not the Carpenters son? No longer, the expected Messiah. That's human being for you!
Man of God, listen to me. You may be relevant now, I mean relevant because you are giving the people the "thing". You know what I mean? Very soon, I mean very soon, these crowd you see following you may change their address. They all deserted Jesus when He pointed to them the real reason of his coming. They exclaimed " these are hard sayings, who can bear it" They all turned their back and Jesus finally turned also to his real disciples, and asked them," Will you also gooooo? They replied, " No way! Master, we are with you. Where can we go for? you have the word of eternal life" Hallelujah!
My friend, go for the Word! At the Mount of Transfiguration, every other thing must go- the law and sacrifice representing Moses and prophecy representing Elijah, must all go but the Word, I mean the eternal Word representing Jesus must remain. The Bible stated that Jesus only remained and heavens got open and spoke. This is our victory!
Friend, what are we not hearing today? A famine for the word of God is coming upon our land and infact, it’s here, already. People on a whole, that is worldwide, are no longer interested in hearing the undiluted word from the throne room above.
This is the prophesied end time. It baffles me with what I'm seeing in this generation. But I think, this is just the beginning. If Jesus tarries, we may see worse things- by the rate the church and society is going.
In the end times, people will be running to and fro seeking what they won't be able to find. We are told that, because they've rejected God’s word for so long, that they won't be able to recognize the truth any more even if they want. Humanity, by despising God, will reap what they have sown.
Are you not seeing and hearing what is happening in some parts of the Western world today? Some of these things are coming to us now- I mean the tattoo marks, their so called " alternate lifestyles, that is the gay parades and same-sex marriages, their new versions of the Bible, the abortion and divorce rate. The new marriage system which is by contract, not covenant anymore. One woman over there said to the pastor, Please, remove the clause in the marriage oath which is " For better for worse, I don't like it, and its not for me". The other one was looking for expiration date in his marriage certificate. Do you understand what I'm talking about? He was looking to see the date the pastor wrote in a certificate, that his marriage will end with his enduring partner. He got annoyed because he couldn't find any. Listen to me, All these things are happening today because of the shortage of the essential in the land- I mean the word of God.Are you hearing me? God is not European or Asian. God is God and his standard ever remains. His picture, desires and all in all can be found in the word. I don't care for anything, outside the word. Oh! Lord, forever, your Word is settled in heaven. Halleluyah!!!
This is indeed the age of deception. Anyone not deceived now cannot be deceived again.
Man of God hearing my voice now, God is saying, there is famine in the land.
Hardly, these days will you hear truth from some of our pulpits. Are you contributing to this scarcity with your cheap lies, miracle arrangee, fake testimonies and exaggerated, fabricated stories for cheap gain and popularity. What is pulpit? I think, in a short word, " God is saying, pull my people out of pit" Maybe from the pit of hell, destruction, disaster and poverty. But today, you are pulling them down the pit by neglecting the whole counsel of God and teaching them the wrongs. Well, I'm not blaming some of us- why?
1. Some of us were not sent. You just received a flash not the main call and you pack your other business, to do this one.
2. Some of us, the messengers though called have forgotten the content of the message
3. Some messengers have modified the message
4. Some of us have messages which got influenced to suit the convenience of the hearers
5. Some messengers have adjusted the message to suit the changing times
These days, we don't call sins by their names. My dear preacher, are you preparing your people to spend eternity with God after here or are you after their money, and to send them to hell afterwards?Miracle and prosperity is part of God’s truth but I strongly believe that heaven rejoices only for one thing- when a soul repents. That is the ultimate. The other is the addendum. Today, we get their purse and send them to hell, only to sing their praises at their burials. How many souls can you account for in the presence of The Lord?
Let me say this, some of our congregation will send some pastors to hell at the end of our journey here on earth. Why? Because of their itching ears syndrome.
2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 1-3
“I charge thee in the sight of God, and of Christ Jesus, who shall judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts”
Have you seen it? People at this time are no longer going for the substance. They are pursuing shadow and no wonder, the whole thing doesn't last.
To a sinner, how many prophets have come for your so called house or family deliverance in your compound?Every month, one or three persons must come. You have their lists and yet You refuse to say the truth to yourself and be free. Today, some businessmen in the name of prophets are causing problems here and there. It is so because, people refuse to marry the word of God. How can you reject the miracle worker, himself- Jesus Christ and always pursuing his miracle here and there? No wonder, there is no more native doctors in the land, for almost all of them are going with Big Bibles everywhere, putting on, a beautiful suit to match, causing confusion everywhere.
‘A pig is a pig’ The first prayer for a sinner is Oh, Lord, have mercy upon me, not looking for open doors. God says in his Word, ‘there is no peace for the wicked! Let us stop all these religiosity without life in this last days. God is angry. To a gay man, a lesbian , a liar, cheat, sycophant, fornicator, adulterer, gossip, hater and others hearing my voice now, you need God’s mercy.
Finally, I believe God has put a burden upon the heart of every born again believer to be upfront with the truth of His word in every situation of life. God would not want us to leave this responsibility of speaking the truth to our pastors alone. You must speak out God’s truth to quench the thirst of people, and end this famine of the Word now. Time wastes for no man. It's only here we are going to preach this Word of eternal life. Jesus is at the door. Save a soul now. The famine of hearing God’s word is getting worse on a daily basis. Don't say, there's always someone out there,witnessing, why should I bother?Friend, this attitude is against Gods word.
To as many who need God’s salvation this night, I will pray for you but let me say this here, Don't always have an itching ears. Go for the eternal word which is able to save your soul. If you are in a place, where your eternity with God after here, is not paramount, please " re-locate" fast. They may write " Evangelism and heaven is our supreme task at their signpost and do the other business inside the church building, please escape for your life. Are you hearing me?
Are you ready now, to call Jesus into your life and to surrender to him totally?
If you want to do that now, then follow after me in this simple but mighty prayer and believe it with all your heart.
"Lord Jesus, I come to you today by faith. I'm a sinner and I can't save myself. I have heard your word and discovered that I need your mercy and forgiveness. Come into my life and be my Lord and personal savior.Forgive me all my sins. I reject self and the world and hereby promise to worship you sincerely. Thank you Lord for saving me today. Amen
I now pray for you
Lord, I pray for my listener who had prayed this prayer now. Please accept him into your kingdom. Forgive all iniquities and transgressions and give him or her a new life to live for you. Thank You Lord for we pray in Jesus Name. Amen
My friend, thank you for the new life you have received in Christ Jesus today. Congratulation, and begin to study the word of God on daily basis and ask the Holy Spirit to help you with His understanding always. You may begin with the gospel of John and fellowship with other believers in Christ for your growth.
