HOW WILL YOU MEET THE KING 1
My Friend, you are welcome to the hour of the Trumpeter.We sincerely thank God for keeping you alive till today, and the opportunity to hear this good news of the kingdom. So this is a moment, God is blessing his people through the undiluted word from Him. We also use this medium to position the believers in Christ for the imminent return of our Lord, Jesus Christ-and to warn the unbelieving world to change their ways and not to attract the wrath of God.
This is THE TRUMPETER, a moment dedicated to preparing God's people for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and to warn the unbelieving world about the coming judgement. It's also a time to look at the amazing facts of the world events as foretold in the word of God and to encourage obedience to the Word of God in being separated from worldliness and false doctrine.
Let us pray.
In the name of Jesus Christ....Amen
Our father and our God, May you impart your life and truth to us now through the revelation of your word. Let there be understanding and wisdom as you prepare us for your everlasting kingdom. Bless your people today through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Our topic today takes the form of a question.
HOW WILL YOU MEET THE KING? Part 1
MARK chapter 13 verses 33 -37.
“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. It is as when a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch. Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cock crowing, or in the morning; lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch”
2 SAMUEL chapter 19 verses 10-12,15,
“ And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back? And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, to bring him to his house. Ye are my brethren, ye are my bone and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?
15, So the king returned, and came to the Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to bring the king over the Jordan.”
Again, Chapter 20 verses 1 and 2
“ And there happened to be there a base fellow, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew the trumpet, and said, We have no portion in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel. So all the men of Israel went up from following David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri; but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from the Jordan even to Jerusalem”.
From the book of Mark where we read,we see the words of our Master, Jesus Christ about His coming back to take His people home, with the story of a man who went to a far journey and gave authority to his servants. He assigned each with some responsibilities and to occupy till He comes back.He admonished them to be on the watch always for His return. He might come at midnight, at the cock crowing or in the morning.
The story of Jesus had happened before in a picture and displayed in the return of the King David, to his house and to establish his reign in Jerusalem.
From the passages we read in the book of 2 Samuel chapters 19 and 20, we saw the king David been chased away from the throne by his rebellious and ambitious son, Absalom. Absalom died when he rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth, and the mule that was under him went away.
Friend, this is the way of all wickedness. What a tragedy and a loss when a soul hangs in between the heavens and the earth- rejected by all. This kind of life will not be your portion in the name of Jesus!
After the whole incident, the King sent to Zadok and Abiathar the priests so that they speak to the elders of Judah to bring the King back to His kingdom and throne. Friend, with our activities and lifestyles today, we have removed the Almighty God from the throne of our lives. Some people have remained wicked and terrible with their lifestyles today.
How are you treating the Lord today? Is He the Lord of your entire life or have you sent him away? Remember, He is coming back to take over His righteous throne forever.
In our age and time, a lot of things are happening.
The moral bankruptcy of our society is well-documented.
Do you know that a new version of Bible has been written, showing some evils which some people practice today?It was written to counterfeit the original KING JAMES VERSION. It is called the QUEEN JAMES VERSION to deceive the people of the world. It permits many evils. The world is crazy! No wonder, in one of our known Christian nations today, abortion is now the most common surgical procedure...for every 1000 live births, there are 353 abortions.
The scope of the world epidemic of sinfulness is enormous. Our teens are now committing suicide at a high rate. Pornography has now increased, with all imaginable sexual perversions now being readily available in adult bookstores and everywhere.
Friend, this king is coming back again!
I'm talking about more than David. How will you meet him?His kingdom is everlasting and his throne is established in righteousness.
In the case of king of David, Some people were found qualified,while others were disqualified. This will re-occur during the coming of the king of kings. Some people will be prepared like the five wise virgins in the scripture while others will not.
The five different persons found in the story met the king at his return with different stands and attitudes. We saw these people from the places we read and they were treated differently.
These characters are seen in our lives, our families, our society and the churches today. Just follow me and let's excavate these lives and their transactions.
THE FIVE CHARACTERS TO BE SEEN AT HIS RETURN are:
1. SOME WILL BE WORRIED WHEN THE KING RETURNS
These are the ones I called the “SHIMEI and ZIBA CHRISTIANS”
2 Samuel 19 Chapter verse 16
“And Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, who was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David”
The word of God mentioned the name of a man, called "Shimei". These are the kind of Christians who think they can do anything to the Master and go scot-free and the unbelievers who think, the king won't be back again. He had abandoned the world He created.
Did you remember this wicked fellow? I mean Shimei?
When you read his story in 2 Samuel Chapter 16 verses5-13. You will know him better? He was the son of Gera, of the house of Saul. He was a mocker who also cursed the king when he was running away from Absalom, his son. He called the king a man of Belial and bloody man saying that the king is suffering because of his evil. He cast stones on the king. The King, David refused to take revenge and received the insults. After some years, the king returned. The Bible said that Shimei was the first to come before the king and bowed before Him. HALLELUYAH!
The Bible said that He hasted and came with the men of Judah to meet the king.
Do you know what the word of God said in Philippians chapter 2 verses 9-11.
“Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name; that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”
Glory!!!!!
Friend, Are you Shimei? You will regret all your actions when He comes back. Repent today before it becomes too late.
Another figure under this category is the “Ziba Christians”
These are the ones I called the fast guys of this 21st century in our journey towards Canaan. Friend, some people are just smart, and you think they are anointed. The rapture will reveal many characters. The wife of Lot was in the house deceiving everybody but the sudden departure revealed her true color and heart. This is like the man called Ziba which means "strength"
Really, By strength, shall no man prevail.
We have many Ziba's in the pews and pulpits today. They do many things today in the name of Christianity. God said that His people are perishing for lack of knowledge.
My listener, this is why this broadcast is coming to you this night.
By the way, Who was this man? His full CV can be seen in 2 Samuel chapter 16 verses 1-4. He was the servant of Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan who was lame at both legs but had the opportunity to be remembered by the king because of covenant. Ziba was a servant above his master, a fast guy, a hypocrite, a funny man and pretender who loves eye- service. He cornered the king David when he was leaving Jerusalem and showered him with gifts to buy his heart. The worst was that when the king asked after his master, Mephibosheth, he lied by saying, " He abides in Jerusalem for he said, today shall the house of Israel restore the kingdom of my father"
What a world!
We have many Ziba's in the ministry today. Are you one of them? They always seek to castigate and pull others down for their cheap gain or take-over. Friend, short cut is not short at all. It is always a dangerous route which may bring regret at last.
You know, The king rewarded him with the land belonging to his master, Mephibosheth. My listener, are you Like Ziba ? Because of false stories, you are sowing some seeds of discord in the body of Christ. A tale bearer cannot go unpunished. You may have succeed before now but not too long. Be careful for the master is coming when every work shall come to light.
Ziba, repent for The Lord is coming! Prepare to meet him! You may be worried when you see him finally. At his coming, all truth shall be revealed. To avoid the life of regret, surrender to him today completely.
Friend, I don't know where you are now, hearing my voice?. Through this trumpeter series I'm calling your heart and mind back to your maker. It's not a time for hide and seek. We are talking about your eternal rest after your life here.One dangerous thing about hell is not it is burning with sulfur and brimstone or there are sounds of agony to be heard but it is a place to stay FOREVER. I repeat ' forever'
As I said before, we have five characters waiting for the kings return. I will stop with these two characters today and to continue with the other three in the next episode of the trumpeter. Just keep a date with us.
But for now, you've discovered from the picture that the Shimei and Ziba people thought that the Lord won't be back again. Had they known, they would've behaved positively and differently.
This message is coming to you now because you are not in the casket or grave yet. You still have an opportunity to repent and turn away for all your evils.
2 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 2
“ (for he saith, At an acceptable time I hearkened unto thee, And in a day of salvation did I succor thee: behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation)
Again, The Book of Isaiah chapter 55 verses 6 and 7 says..........
“Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon”
Now are you ready to surrender your life to this King who stays in the seat of mercy now before it becomes late?
