VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Consider one another
"And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, "
Consider or "katanoeo" in Greek meaning:
1. to perceive, remark, observe, understand
2. to consider attentively, fix one’s eyes or mind upon
Hebrews 13:3 (Amplified Bible)
13:3 Remember those who are in prison as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are ill-treated, since you also are liable to bodily sufferings.
Proverbs 29:7 (Amplified Bible)
29:7 The [consistently] righteous man knows and cares for the rights of the poor, but the wicked man has no interest in such knowledge.
Romans 15:1-2 (Amplified Bible)
15:1 WE WHO are strong [in our convictions and of robust faith] ought to bear with the failings and the frailties and the tender scruples of the weak; [we ought to help carry the doubts and qualms of others] and not to please ourselves.
15:2 Let each one of us make it a practice to please (make happy) his neighbor for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him [to strengthen him and build him up spiritually].
Considerate people perceive, observes, understand, fix one's eyes on another not on themselves. The truly considerate people care for another person, and not attentive to their own needs. They are focused on another' needs not on themselves. I heard of a ministry that always speak in tongues for 1 hour whenever they gather, but they forgot to minister to the church, they're only a handfuls for 22 years they are about 300 in attendance, they forgot 1 Corinthians 14:2-4, that's why they never increased in attendance all thru the years.
Matthew 25:34-40 (Amplified Bible)
25:34 Then the King will say to those at His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father [you favored of God and appointed to eternal salvation], inherit (receive as your own) the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
25:35 For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you brought Me together with yourselves and welcomed and entertained and lodged Me,
25:36 I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me with help and ministering care, I was in prison and you came to see Me.
25:37 Then the just and upright will answer Him, Lord, when did we see You hungry and gave You food, or thirsty and gave You something to drink?
25:38 And when did we see You a stranger and welcomed and entertained You, or naked and clothed You?
25:39 And when did we see You sick or in prison and came to visit You?
25:40 And the King will reply to them, Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least [in the estimation of men] of these My brethren, you did it for Me.
1 Corinthians 14:2-4 (Amplified Bible)
14:2 For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].
14:3 But [on the other hand], the one who prophesies [who interprets the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching] speaks to men for their upbuilding and constructive spiritual progress and encouragement and consolation.
14:4 He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself, but he who prophesies [interpreting the divine will and purpose and teaching with inspiration] edifies and improves the church and promotes growth [in Christian wisdom, piety, holiness, and happiness].
B. Stir one another to love and good deeds
"studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities,"
Stir up, or provoke or "paroxusmos" in Greek meaning:
1. To call into action; to arouse; to excite
2. To make angry; to offend; to incense; to enrage
3. To excite; to cause; as, to provoke perspiration; to provoke a smile
4. To excite; to stimulate; to increase
5. To challenge
6. To move; to incite; to stir up; to induce by motives
7. To incite; to rouse; as, to provoke one to anger
Love or "agape" in Greek meaning:
1. affection or benevolence
2. a love feast
3. GOD's kind of love
Work is "ergon" in Greek meaning:
1. an act
2. deed, doing, labour, work
Hebrews 13:1 (Amplified Bible)
13:1 LET LOVE for your fellow believers continue and be a fixed practice with you [never let it fail].
1 John 3:18 (Amplified Bible)
3:18 Little children, let us not love [merely] in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity).
Galatians 5:6 (Amplified Bible)
5:6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.
Galatians 5:13 (Amplified Bible)
5:13 For you, brethren, were [indeed] called to freedom; only [do not let your] freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse [for selfishness], but through love you should serve one another.
We encourage up to the point of being provoked one another to do good works and love for another not for themselves. The center of the church is not the pastor but the LORD JESUS.
IX. CONCLUSION:
Thank You very much LORD JESUS, for You thought about me when You're on the cross to provoke me to do good works and love for one another.
