Summary: What makes Jesus weep

THE SEVEN WEEPINGS OF JOSEPH!!!

WHAT MAKES JESUS WEEP TODAY?Acts 13:38-46

38: Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:(THE WORD REPENT MEANS METANOIR WHICH MEANS YOU USED TO BELIEVE THAT YOU COULD SAVE YOURSELF BY WORKS (NOW YOU DON'T) NOW YOU MUST BELIEVE THAT JESUS ALONE CAN SAVE YOU WITHOUT ANY WORKS WHATSOEVER AMEN)

MARTIN LUTHER SAID EVERYDAY I MUST PREACH THE GOSPEL TO SOMEBODY LEST I FORGET.

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

2 Peter 1:5-9

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound

(1)they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(2)But he that lacketh these things is blind,

(3)and cannot see afar off,

(4)and hath forgotten that he was

purged from his old sins.

THE FIRST TIME JOSEPH WEPT:

Genesis 42:22-24:

JOSEPH WEPT WHEN HE SAW HIS BROTHERS AFTER SO LONG AND ALSO HE HEARD THEM SPEAK IN HIS MOTHERS TONGUE.(HEBREW)

And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.

23 And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter.

24 And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them Simeon, and bound him before their eyes.

THE SECOND TIME JOSEPH WEPT

Genesis 43:26-31

WHEN HE SAW HIS BABY BROTHER BENJAMIN HIS MOTHERS SON

26: And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth.

27 And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive?

28 And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance.

29 And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me?

And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.

30 And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

31 And he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread.

THE THIRD TIME JOSEPH WEPT

Genesis 44:30 - 45:2

WHEN HE REVEALED HIMSELF TO HIS BROTHERS

Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life;

31 It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave.

32 For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.

33 Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren.

34 For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.

Chapter 45

1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

2 And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.

THE FOURTH TIME JOSEPH WEPT

Genesis 45:9-15

WHEN HE WEPT AND KISSED ALL HIS BROTHERS

9:Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not:

10 And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:

11 And there will I nourish thee; for yet there are five years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.

12 And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.

13 And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.

14 And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.

15 Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them:

and after that his brethren talked with him.

THE FIFTH TIME JOSEPH WEPT

Genesis 46:28-30

WHEN HE SAW HIS FARTHER AFTER MANY YEARS. JOSEPH MUST OF THOUGHT WHY HIS FARTHER NEVER LOOK FOR HIM.

28:And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.

29 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.

30 And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.

THE SIX TIME JOSEPH WEPT

Genesis 49:33 - 50:3

WHEN HIS FARTHER DIED

And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.

Chapter 50

1 And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.

2 And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.

3 And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.

THE LAST WEEPING OF JOSEPH IS SYMBOLIC OF WHAT MAKES JESUS WEEP TODAY:

CHURCH WE ARE FORGIVEN PAST,PRESENT AND FUTURE SINS AMEN

THE SEVEN TIME JOSEPH WEPT

WHEN HIS BROTHERS COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT JOSEPH TRULY FORGAVE THEM ETERNALLY WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED.This is the 4 weeping

Genesis 45:14-15

14:And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.

15 Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and after that his brethren talked with him.

SO WHY IS JESUS WEEPING IN THESE LAST DAYS;

BECAUSE WE HAVE FORGOTTEN OUR SINS HAVE BEEN WASHED AWAY BECAUSE JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS ON THE CROSS PAST,PRESENT AND FUTURE WE ARE FORGIVEN NO STRINGS ATTACHED ETERNALLY.

Genesis 50:16-18

REMEMBER GOD HIDES FUTURE EVENTS IN OLD TESTAMENT STORIES

16:(his brothers)And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying, 17 So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father.

And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

The seventh weeping of Joseph

18 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.

Joseph grants his family the safety and provides for them a place to live. They live in harmony for seventeen years. But when Jacob dies the moment of truth comes. The brothers feel scared now that their farther has died. So they go to Joseph and plead for mercy. “Your father gave this command before he died. . . . ‘Tell Joseph to forgive you” (Gen. 50:16—17).

Joseph’s WEEPS? “When Joseph received the message, he cried” (Gen. 50:17).

What more do I have to do he says with tears

I’ve given you a home.

I’ve provided for your families.

Why don't you trust my forgiveness.

Let's read the two statements he makes to his brothers. First he asks, “Can I do what only God can do?” (v. 19). All Joseph is saying revenge belongs to God not me. God has not asked us to settle the score or get even. Joseph gives the answer in verse 20;

“You meant to hurt me, but God turned your evil into good to save the lives of many people, which is being done” (v. 20).

He refuses to focus on the betrayal of his brothers without also seeing the mercy and providence of God. Let's not make rash decisions.

2 Peter 1:5-9

5:And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound,

(1)they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 (2)But he that lacketh these things is blind,

(3)and cannot see afar off,

(4)and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

LETS STOP MAKING JESUS WEEP BY NEVER FORGETTING WE ARE FORGIVEN OF PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE SINS

AMEN
