Leave ungodliness!
Titus 2:12”training us to leave ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ..”
Friend, you cannot stop with just meeting God and doing a salsa for His grace that saved you from the wretched life - we got to move on from glory to glory! Are you listening? God starts training us after salvation for the following purpose:
• To leave ungodliness
• To leave worldly passions
• To live self-controlled life
• To be upright
• To live godly life
• Waiting for the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ
Keenly check every point given above and do a self-search of your spiritual life! The reason for our salvation is just not to wear a cross around your neck or paint your car with the alphabets J-E-S-U-S, we got to live like His children in this world filled with wickedness. Apostle Paul said: “He gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age..” (Galatians 1:3) Are you listening? To begin with, when we repent, confess and accept Jesus and His Word in our hearts and determine to live a godly life then we get saved. This is called salvation, further we take immersion water baptism as an outward acknowledgement of belonging to Jesus, the next stage is what I have explained above. Dear Christian, just because your grandfather was a treasurer in the church and you belong to a Christian home, you cannot become a Christian, now tell me, are you saved? There are many you call themselves as born-again believers but they still hang on to their old sinful life. Warning! The above scripture says, ‘leave ungodliness!’ Amen. Psalm 1:1 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. ”
Friend, you cannot do business with an ungodly person who would compromise on issues of integrity and honesty and justify his actions. When my husband went to buy mangoes from the city market, he along with another gentleman found out that he was cheating on the weights, my husband took the man aside and chided him for his unrighteousness, the vendor replied that he had to give bribe every day to policemen, hence without cheating on weights he can never see profit – this is how the world looks at sin but God says, ‘be holy!’ When you do hard work and do business the proper way, the harvest that comes out of it would be wonderful! All ungodliness would be punished one day! Romans 1:18”For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men..” Leave ungodliness!
When someone finds you different and notice that you don’t swear, don’t curse, don’t lustfully look and they are curious to know the reasons, don’t give a sheepish smile and pass it away, tell them boldly it is because of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ who washed away your sins and made you holy. Don’t be ashamed to honor God!
