Hebrews 9:18 (Amplified Bible)

Thank You very much LORD JESUS because of Your blood we have been redeemed, forgiven according to the riches and generosity of Your Gracious favor.

VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Even the old covenant was not inaugurated, ratified and put into force
"So even the [old] first covenant (God’s will) was not inaugurated and ratified and put in force"
Hebrews 8:7-9 (Amplified Bible)
8:7 For if that first covenant had been without defect, there would have been no room for another one or an attempt to institute another one.
8:8 However, He finds fault with them [showing its inadequacy] when He says, Behold, the days will come, says the Lord, when I will make and ratify a new covenant or agreement with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
8:9 It will not be like the covenant that I made with their forefathers on the day when I grasped them by the hand to help and relieve them and to lead them out from the land of Egypt, for they did not abide in My agreement with them, and so I withdrew My favor and disregarded them, says the Lord.

The word "first" is "protos" in Greek meaning:
1. first in time or place
2. first in rank
3. first, at the first
But it has fault in them because it was not that strong, for only the blood of bulls and goats was made with the first.

It was just a cover up until the real Lamb of GOD should come and wipe away all our sins with His Precious Blood.

Only John, the Baptist saw JESUS the way JESUS wants to show Himself to this world.

The word blood or "aima" in Greek means:
1. blood
2. blood shed, to be shed by violence, slay, murder

Now it's a far more better covenant we have because it's ratified, valid, made effective, in force and with legal powers because of the blood of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
