My Sins Are Forgiven
Psalms 32:1-11
This Psalms is written by David doing a very difficult time in his life that he brought upon himself. In fact you do not see in this psalms David asking the LORD to deliver him from the hands of his enemies, because he here is his own enemy.
He uses the word “I” often here.
David had committed the sins of adultery, murder and lying and thought he could just cover them up and time would take care of it. We see here his testimony of what not to do or do with our sins.

We know that David for months attempted to hide these horrible sins he had committed and here he we have his testimony.
1. Covered Sins
“I Kept Silence”
David sins were painful to bear and obviously caused him some physical problems.
See: Psalms 31:10 My strength faileth because of mine iniquity
See: Vs.4 For day and night Thy hand was upon me.
David clearly understood that what he was going through was the result of the God’s hand.
Mention: Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper
See: Psalms 38:1-8 David’s problems due to his sin
Mention: Joshua 7:19 Achan had to sweating it out as Joshua narrowed in on his family
Fact: God will not let us sin successfully
2. Confessed Sins
See: Vs.5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee…
This is a great thing to do because God already knows about anyway!
Mention: Hebrews 4:13 all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
Again: Proverbs 28:13 he that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall prosper.
See: Psalms 32:1-2 David says “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.”
Point: If you are going to cover your sins let it be under the blood of Christ.
Mention: 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Vs.5 “I confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.” Selah (This is a good place to halt, pause and think)
3. A Compassionate God
The most compassionate thing the LORD has done for us all is pardon us of all our iniquity.
There are several things David mentions that accompany confessed sins:
a. Effective Prayer
Mention: Psalms 66:18 If we regard sin in our hearts the LORD will not hear us.
See: Vs.6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found.

b. Divine Protection

c. Perfect Peace
“Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.”
David in the mist of this psalm gives us a bit of advice from experience.
