Are you DRAWN OR DRIVEN?
Early in the Welsh Revival, Evan Roberts said: "There is no driving in anything which pertains to God; it is Satan that drives; God persuades, draws." And then, lifting up his voice, cried: "Draw us, Lord; draw us by thy Holy Spirit."
Drawing and Driving: by reading through the Word of God, you find that God does both.
His Drawing is usually in connection with salvation, whereas His Driving is usually in connection with His judgment.
He Drives people out because of sin and disobedience and He Draws them in because of Love and Mercy.
So there is placed before you today a choice: Whether you shall be amongst the Drawn or the Driven!
God loves to Draw, and He hates to Drive.
God loves to Draw to Him; to His peace, His mercy, His blessing, His grace and His eternal Life.
God hates to Drive away from Himself; into eternal suffering, eternal shame, eternal pain, eternal loss and eternal death.
Blessed are they who are Drawn; woe to all those who are Driven.
Thank God that the Sinner Drawn.
Drawn unto His glory, His love.
Each of here today should have on our lips a PERSONAL PLEA of “Draw me."
“Draw Me” is the language of an awakened soul and conscious awareness of being away from God.
“Draw Me” is a CONFESSION OF WEAKNESS. –And that being a statement of fact.
When you feel Him Draw, you should RUN toward Him.
“Draw Me” is the LANGUAGE OF HELPLESSNESS. –Our helplessness.
Again, it is our “helplessness” not “hopelessness”; for we have hope in Christ – we just need His help.
“Draw Me” is the language of someone who longs to follow the Lord Jesus and the way of righteousness.
“Draw Me” is a CONFESSION PROMPTED BY THE SENSE OF UNWORTHINESS. –And we are all unworthy…That why He calls" it GRACE!
“Draw Me” is the language of someone who feels they deserve to be Driven away rather than Drawn in.
Then a wonderful thing occurs: Our REQUEST of “Draw Me” is GRANTED: "The King hath brought me."-From out Text.
God loves to Draw. This can clearly be seen in nature:
The tides are caused by the drawing power of the moon.
Evaporation and the resulting showers are the result of the drawing power of the sun.
The drawing power of the sun pulls plants, trees and flowers from the earth toward itself.
In the world of men and women God DRAWS.
In the "fullness of time" God “gave His only begotten Son” to Draw us all to Himself.
For is it not written: "Unto Him shall the gathering of the people be," and did He not Himself say: "And I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men unto Me?" (John 12:32).
God draws through the Atoning Death of Jesus.
He draws by His great love.
AFTER THE FALL, sinful mankind was driven out of the garden (Gen. 3: 24), yet not driven out in judgment until the promise was given of a Saviour (Gen. 3:15), and provision made for a covering –covering of their sin by the shedding of blood.
AFTER HIS ATROCIOUS DEED, "Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear, behold Thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth, and from Thy face shall I be hid" (Gen. 4:13-14). These are awful words are a WARNING:
If you are not Drawn to God by the Atoning Death of Christ, you will be, by and by, Driven to Judgment!
