VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Heard and yet rebelled
"For who were they who heard and yet were rebellious and provoked [Him]?"
Hebrews 3:9-10 (Amplified Bible)
3:9 Where your fathers tried [My patience] and tested [My forbearance] and found I stood their test, and they saw My works for forty years.
3:10 And so I was provoked (displeased and sorely grieved) with that generation, and said, They always err and are led astray in their hearts, and they have not perceived or recognized My ways and become progressively better and more experimentally and intimately acquainted with them.
Numbers 14:2 (Amplified Bible)
14:2 All the Israelites grumbled and deplored their situation, accusing Moses and Aaron, to whom the whole congregation said, Would that we had died in Egypt! Or that we had died in this wilderness!
Numbers 26:65 (Amplified Bible)
26:65 For the Lord had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. There was not left a man of them except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
Only two of them were left alive: Caleb and Joshua from a population of 601,730.
Numbers 26:51 (Amplified Bible)
26:51 This was the number of the Israelites, 601,730.
B. All those who came out of Egypt
"Was it not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?"
Deuteronomy 1:36 (Amplified Bible)
1:36 Except [Joshua, of course, and] Caleb son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him and to his children I will give the land upon which he has walked, because he has wholly followed the Lord.
Joshua 14:7-11 (Amplified Bible)
14:7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea to scout out the land. And I brought him a report as it was in my heart.
14:8 But my brethren who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt; yet I wholly followed the Lord my God.
14:9 And Moses swore on that day, Surely the land on which your feet have walked shall be an inheritance to you and your children always, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.
14:10 And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years since the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while the Israelites wandered in the wilderness; and now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old.
14:11 Yet I am as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now for war and to go out and to come in.
Look at the patience of GOD, for forty years, the Israelites did nothing but to complain and yet GOD gave them a chance of forty years to repent.
Romans 2:4 (Amplified Bible)
2:4 Or are you [so blind as to] trifle with and presume upon and despise and underestimate the wealth of His kindness and forbearance and long-suffering patience? Are you unmindful or actually ignorant [of the fact] that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repent (to change your mind and inner man to accept God’s will)?
It's your responsibility if your heart hardens, not the fault of GOD, because GOD only gave everything good for you, and yet you decide to reject His Goodness, thus you end up with a hardened heart. To avoid this, always give thanks to the FATHER in everything and in every situation.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (Amplified Bible)
5:18 Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].
IX. CONCLUSION:
Thank GOD in everything, everywhere and every time.
