Receiving Spiritual Wisdom
Proverbs 20:27
27 ¶ The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
At the beginning of man there was full knowledge of God and with great understanding .
it was a bright and burning light at first, but through sin is become a very weak one; by which men have only a flicking view of divine things, of God and his worship, and of what he would have done, or not done; by this light men do but go after him, perhaps they may find him and know his will; it is but like a candle light at best, in comparison of divine revelation, or the Gospel of the grace of God, which has shone out like the sun in its meridian glory righteousness, Christ Jesus, and the light of the divine Spirit; yet this is a light set up by the Lord, a candle of his; it comes from the Father of lights, he is the author and maintainer of it; it is a spirit and understanding .
Candle:
Is a light or lamp to show you a way in dark places. A light for guidance through the inner man.
searching all the inward parts of the belly; or heart; the thoughts, intents, and purposes of it; which are the things of a man that only the spirit of man knows; by this candle, or light, he can look into his own heart, the inmost recesses of it, and reflect upon his thoughts and schemes, and judge in some measure whether right or wrong; there is a conscience in man, which, unless seared, passes sentence on what is in man, or done by him, and either excuses or accuses.
Holy Spirits Work in us.
Holy Spirit sent by God dwells in us as a born again spirit. He is always here when you are born again.
The voice off the spirit- is the conscience or the mind/heart/ in which the spirit of the lord speaks to you. We need to hear this conscience voice giving you guidance and direction. Listen to him.
Reasoning is the voice of your soul. Trying to figure it out.
Feeling is the voice of your body, which most of us are led by feelings. So often we speak what we feel. We call it speaking our mind, But if my mind is about Christ we won’t speak what we feel but only what spirit in our mind directs us to. (make sense)
We are born again with the light of Christ shining in our mind and thoughts. A new creation. Some ignore what he is telling us to do by doing what our voice of our body and soul dictates to us.
1Co 14:10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. (meaning)
The light of the spirit is figure of consciences.
1. Understanding God
Men’s mind know about him.
But to know him intimate fashion.
Phil. 3.10
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
The aim is not merely brought unto his righteousness as redeemed but to know the redeemer himself. Close friend-as well as lord and savior.
Understanding:
He wants fellowship with you
Provision for healing and salvation
Power through the Holy Ghost to speak to your spirit man and to guide him into all truths.
Facts and truth to understand’
Fact is your sick- going to die but the truth is by his strips you are healed.
Fact is your broke can pay the bills, truth is God is more than enough.
Fact is you have needs and cant obtain them- truth is he shall supply every need according to his riches in glory.
Fact is there are dysfunctions in our families. Truth is Jesus can correct these.
Fact is times things look hopeless, truth is he is our only hope
Body and soul brings the facts but the truth is brought on by his Holy Spirit in side of you that gives you faith to make it.
Understanding God is know that he can search your mind , soul and body and declare the finished work in you.
A. How do I get understanding?
Understanding and wisdom go hand and hand.
James 1/5
5. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
That giveth to all men liberally;
God is the giver of all good things, in nature, providence, and grace; every good and perfect gift comes from him, and therefore he, and he only, should be applied unto: and he gives to "all men" the bounties of his providence; and to all that ask, and call upon him in sincerity, the riches of his grace.
Get Wisdom:
Pro 4: 5-13
5. Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth
6. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you.
7.Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you."
10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.
11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths.
12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble.
13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.
1 Kings 3 begin in verse 3
3 And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
5 ¶ In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
6 And Solomon said, Thou hast showed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
7 And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
8 And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
Notice this that God is no respecter of persons.
10 And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
11 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honor: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
14 And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

John 10 -27-30
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
All this came about because I asked God for direction, what path to take and the wisdom to take it correctly.
