He is my Helper and Buddy!
2 Chronicles 32:8”With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles." And the people took confidence from the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.”
The amazing life of king Hezekiah should encourage people, who do not have a good background to boast of. Recently a friend of mine said, ’Bala, I have no good family background or a good past to boast of, it is just only dirt.’ I could feel the pain in her words; nevertheless, today I want to tell you, that you can arise from the ash heap and shine for God like king Hezekiah. Hallelujah! Ahaz was the name of Hezekiah’s father who was an awfully wicked man and the most abominable thing that he did was : “He even burned his son as an offering, according to the despicable practices of the nations whom the LORD drove out before the people of Israel.” (2 King 16:1) I’m sure Hezekiah as a small boy would have been hurt a million times to watch his father walk against God. I guess he was ignored by his father, the quarrels and fights at home must have pushed him to spend more time with God. This is the key to his success in the latter part of his life. Amen. He became king of Judah at the age of 25, when his nation was surrounded by enemies, he looked at his people and said, ‘Hey guys, not to worry, I’ve known my GOD from childhood, he has been my Buddy, He has been my Love, He would never ever leave us, He would help us. Let us trust His Arms! You’ve got to know Him intimately, closely and passionately, in order to comfort someone who does not know Him. Youth Leader! Preacher! Are you listening? Spend time at His Feet before you usurp the pulpit to preach!
I meditated this scripture at 3 am this morning, preached the message at 6.30 am in the morning service at our Shiloh Revival Church and here I am typing this message at 10.30 am; it would reach you today! I worshipped Him with tears running down my cheek as I thought of the numerous times He has helped me. He is our Helper! If today you are going through a strenuous situation, miserable and lonely path, does your future look uncertain and blurred, are you facing severe problems at your work spot, are you fighting discouragement on several fronts, are you wondering what to do now? I’ve paused by to tell you today, He is our Helper. Amen. Depend on Him! Stop running around for help, stop calling million people, stop checking google for help and the best doc, kneel down and look up from where the help comes. Prayer is our fortitude! Are you listening?
A muslim woman, mother of two kids studying in our school, came yesterday and started weeping uncontrollably, she said, ”my husband has not been going for work since many days, I do not have any work either, our house rent and current bill has been pending for long, today I have no money even to feed my kids.” She came to me for prayer and not help! Let me state here my position; my helper at home, who has been with me for 13 years was getting married and I was looking for an alternate person. I felt a nudge in my heart to take her. Do I have to tell you who was nudging me? GOD! I asked her, ‘would you like to work at my place?’ Her eyes sparkled with hope and she joined duty that very day. God helped me and her as well on a single day. What a lovely God He is! Did He not say, ‘ you are more special than the sparrows”! Cheer up!
