Isaiah 49:16 “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands..”

Title sounds weird? You’re going to like/love it as you get to the end of the message!

That’s an invitation from God! He wants you to come and see! The problem arises because we refuse to see what He shows and we are busy looking into the doctor’s report, HR report, friend’s statement and the bank statement. Are you listening to me? You know what, I write this devotion with a smile stuck on my face; I feel ‘secure’ as I read this scripture. You would never understand what this word ‘secure’ means to me; only someone who has walked out of their job as a young mother with two kids would know what it means. I don’t feel ‘secure’ because I have a fat bank balance or because I have my own apartment, I feel ‘secure’ because I’m in His pockets! Amen.

The scripture just before this says: verse 15 " Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.” This is powerful! Read it over and over again until your feel bouncy and springy!

My little sister makes it a point to tell the tailor, ‘please stitch an inner-side-pocket in my salwars’,(dress women wear) the tailor dutifully does it for her. Now, the pocket is very important for me because, besides her mobile, my little sister keeps all her hand-cash in her pocket and when we go shopping, she would dig into her pocket and keep paying my bills. After I resigned my job and came into full-time ministry, she would say, ’now, it is my duty to buy things for you; however, I’m doing it for God when I do it for you.’ That shuts my mouth. My husband and I just enjoy looking at her dig into her pockets and buy everything for us; for me it is like my ‘little daughter’ showering her love on me. She is my little Angel! The moment I lay my eyes on something, bang, she would get it for me and I would joke, ‘so, how much you got in your pocket?’

I write this portion on Sunday evening, this morning while I was worshiping in the church, I said something while quoting the above scripture of God having us ‘engraved in His Hands’, which has actually shaped into a devotion. I said, ‘you’re not an orphan, you’re not insignificant, you’re neither forgotten or rejected by Him, ‘He has got you in His POCKETS! Bang! I felt the anointing surge inside me! I knew God loved that statement! I sang the entire song with tears rolling down my cheek and I just went berserk! If my little sister’s pocket could do so much, how much more can God do if I am INSIDE HIS POCKETS? Imagine! Mind-boggling! Passionate love for Him just melts you! I wonder how many understand me!

There is no eraser that can wipe out your name from His Hands! Hallelujah! No devil can do that! You’re in His Pockets! Safe! The old Gospel song says "God has the whole world in His hands”, today I say, ‘He has got you and me in HIS POCKETS!’ Friends, this devotion comes after spending more than an hour at His feet this afternoon; I spoke my fears to Him, I spoke my needs to Him and felt refreshed. I can just imagine myself cuddled safe in HIS POCKETS! Leave the world behind and get into His Pockets!
