Summary: Which leads me to the question, how much do you want out of life? Also followed up with another question, how much do you want of God? Because the second question, determines the first one each and everyday, your whole life through

Do you know where your going?

I heard the story of the woman driving through a snowstorm just outside of Denver.

She was completely lost and struggling under the hazardous weather conditions.

She was relieved when she happened upon a snowplow.

Since she was lost she decided to follow the truck and kept as close to the machine as she could while it removed snow from the road.

At times the blowing snow almost cut off her view, but she kept following it.

After some time, the snowplow stopped and the driver got out and came back to her car. "Lady, where are you going?" he asked.

"I’m on my way to Denver." she replied.

The truck driver replied, "Well, you’ll never get there following me! I’m plowing a parking lot!"

Before we let others lead us, it would be helpful to know their direction.

Far too many people in the world, just trying to find a place to fit in, they are following people, that they have no idea of where they are going or leading them to.

Only interested in being in the popular crowd, or jumping on the next big craze and one day they wake up like the lady in the story and realize they've been going in circles for far to long.

As I thought about the word for today, I couldn't help but remember the group that came to sing at the church some years back.

The Ernie Carter trio, they sang the song called "lead me on" and it went something like this,

Lead me on to the top of the mountain,

take me over to the other side,

take my hand dear Lord and guide me,

as long as you're going I don't mind the climb!

Many days have past and many situations have come and gone and God has never let me down one time.

I thought about those words to that song many times and the "as long as you're going part" has stuck with me and made it so much easier to enjoy the climb, or the journey.

Proverbs 3:3-6 NKJ

3. Let not mercy and truth forsake you;

Bind them around your neck,

Write them on the tablet of your heart,

4. And so find favor and high esteem

In the sight of God and man.

5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

6. In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct[a] your paths.

You see, before you can let someone direct your paths, you have to be willing to give up control and let them do what you ask them to do.

One of the most difficult things to do in any single situation is to relinquish our control to someone else and depend totally on that person to lead and guide us.

Most of the people don't have a problem doing it in any given single situation, but to give up control and let it happen your whole life through is a different story.

And that keeps a lot of people from living the life that God has already prepared for them in advance,

And it's not any old life, but life on the grand scale, the bible calls it, "abundant life" with the parameters set by Gods supernatural capabilities, instead of mans limited ones!

Which leads me to the question, how much do you want out of life?

Also followed up with another question, how much do you want of God?

Because the second question, determines the first one each and everyday, your whole life through,

Several years ago, there was a song called what the world needs now is love sweet love and it went on to say,

It's the one thing that there's just too little of!

And it's true, the world does need more Love in it, only the right kind of love.

but there's a song that has far more significant value to ones eternal situation and it goes something like this,

Jesus loves me this I know,

for the Bible tells me so,

Little ones to Him belong,

They are weak, but He is strong

Yes Jesus loves me,

yes Jesus loves me,

yes Jesus loves me

the Bible tells me so

And if you were at to ask most people, they would tell you that they knew that song.

But clearly they don't understand the meaning of that song, because for to comprehend how much God wants to really do for you and bless you, you have to understand how much he truly loves you!

And when you understand how much He loves you, it makes it so much easier, to trust Him and wait on His direction in your life!

The Word of God gives us instruction, when it comes to letting God lead and direct our lives.

He’s Conscious- This means He’s aware of every need we have

Psalms 121:1-6 MSG

121 1-2 I look up to the mountains;

does my strength come from mountains?

No, my strength comes from God,

who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.

3-4 He won’t let you stumble,

your Guardian God won’t fall asleep.

Not on your life! Israel’s

Guardian will never doze or sleep.

5-6 God’s your Guardian,

right at your side to protect you—

Shielding you from sunstroke,

sheltering you from moonstroke.

God, if you will let Him, will take care of you day and night, the moment you ask Jesus in your heart, His 24/7/365 attention gets placed over your life?

There are a lot of people that come into your life and act like they care about you, but no one will ever care for you like Jesus and His Father God can.

The word of God say’s in Matt 6:7-13 MSG

7-13 “The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this:

Our Father in heaven,

Reveal who you are.

Set the world right;

Do what’s best—

as above, so below.

Keep us alive with three square meals.

Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.

Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.

You’re in charge!

You can do anything you want!

You’re ablaze in beauty!

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Isn’t it good to know that we have a God that is omniscient or all knowing?

He always has our best interest at heart, because He already knows what lies ahead for us

That’s the first reason why you should trust Him, because He already knows everything about you.

TBS. He knows the number of hairs on your head, that's how much He cares about you!

He not only cares, He’s also Concerned about you,

1 Peter 5:7 says cast, which means to throw, your cares, anxieties and worries on Him because He cares about you.

You ask any fisherman who fishes on the ocean from shore, when they cast, they cast as hard as they can, because they want to get it as far out as they can,

Because they don't want the current to bring it back in to them.

That's how we have to be, or should want to be with our problems and needs,

when we cast our cares, our anxieties at the feet of Jesus, we need to let them go and not want them back and let them become His concerns and only His!

Yes He cares about you! Whatever concerns you concerns Him.

So whenever you’re faced with problems, situations and obstacles that seem insurmountable just throw them on Him, He can handle them.

When you put your faith and trust in him, you can find rest in His ability, knowing He not only cares and is concerned, but is consistent!

He’s Consistent- This means He’s faithful and you can also count on Him and trust Him to do exactly what He say’s He will do every single time,

even if others let you down and yes, they will because mans efforts, especially self effort will let you down every time,

God will never let you down, you can always rely on Him.

1 Cor 1:7-9 MSG

7-9. Just think—you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale. And not only that, but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus. God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.

TBS that God is faithful, our faithfulness is not part of His faithfulness

2 Timothy 2:13 NKJ

13 If we are faithless,

He remains faithful;

He cannot deny Himself.

Our consistency is not part of his consistency, however He never overlooks our faithfulness when He sees it, the bible shows time and time again how He rewards faithfulness towards Him!

He not only cares and is concerned, always consistent, He is also very capable!

He’s Capable

Ephesians 3:20,21 NKJ

20. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

21. to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

the power that works in us, that's how He is able to show His capabilities, because He is willing to back it up, by the power He puts in and is available for us to use and enjoy, in our lives

The scripture say’s that when you wait and trust God and let Him lead your life, that God is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to the power that He works in us.

Talk about capabilities, the sky is the limit

Not for God, nothing is too hard for God.

He not only cares and is concerned, always consistent and very capable, He also is totally committed to having a relationship with you.

TBS, He will never leave you or forsake you, He is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother

He never changes either

Hebrews 13:8 NKJ

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever

Proverbs 16:3 AMP

3 Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

His plans become your plans, plans to prosper you and give you hope and to keep you from harm

His care, concern, consistency, capability and commitment that He has for you, have all been made possible by the Love He has for you.

If you haven't made Him The Lord of your Life, right now, this very moment would be a good time to start letting Him lead, guide and direct your life.

To trust Him completely, not only for eternity, but for each and everyday, all along the way, until that day! Amen?

Conclusion:

I'll. there was a lady, who had an experience aboard a plane bound for Cleveland, waiting for takeoff.

As she settled into her seat, she noticed a strange phenomenon.

On one side of the airplane a sunset suffused the entire sky with glorious color. But out of the window next to her seat, all she could see was a sky dark and threatening, with no sign of the sunset.

"As the plane’s engines began to roar, a gentle Voice spoke within her. 'You have noticed the windows,'Your life, too will contain some happy, beautiful times, but also some dark shadows.

Here’s a lesson I want to teach you to save you much heartache and allow you to abide in Me with continual peace and joy.

"'You see, it doesn’t matter which window you look through; this plane is still going to Cleveland.

It's the same with life, no matter how things may look, eternity with Jesus and Heaven is our destination.

You can trust what you see, or you can trust God to direct your path and lead you safely all along the way to your destination,

Enjoying all the blessings he has along the way until He safely leads you home!
