The Prayer of Hannah.
Prayer is communication between man and God. One of the ways your request
or your desire or expectation can be granted is through the place of prayers. The
Bible says we should pray without ceasing. That is we must pray in and out of
season. The Word of God stated in James 5:16 ‘That the effectual and the
fervent prayer of the righteous availed much’. That is your prayer must have
impact, an effect, and it must be performed with fervency. In other word, you
need to pray with fervency and with effectiveness for your prayers to be
answered. Leaving in a violent world calls for a violent way of praying and a
much violent way of intersession in the place of prayer. God lend a support to
this premise when He said in His Word in Matthew 11:12 that ‘from the days of
John the Baptist up to the present moment, the kingdom of Heaven suffered
violence and it is only the violent that can take it by force’.
Manifesting as the sons and daughters of God call for a more violent
and aggressive pattern of warfare in praying and in intersession as well. Beloved,
possessing your possession, living a life of exploit and dominion,
fulfilling your divine goal and potential, becoming unstoppable and untouchable,
and to destroy the works of darkness demand that your life is attracted to
praying with fervency and consistency. Pastor Watchman Nee was quoted as
saying that ‘until we begin to bleed in the place of prayer, we can never be a
blessing to others’. That was the reason when Jesus went to Gethsemane to pray,
the Bible recorded that the sweat that that came out of His body was like blood
and you will agree with me that there is no dispute as to the level of groaning and
aggression that Jesus imputed into that prayer regime in Gethsemane. Permit me
to inform you beloved that it was not only on the Cross that Jesus bled, He also
bled while interceding for you because he is your intercessor.
In the book of 1 Samuel, the Bible told us about a man called
Elkanah, an Ephramite who had two wives; one was Hannah and the second
being Peninnahr. Hannah had no children but Penninahr had many children.
The Bible stated in 1 Samuel 1:5 that this man called Elkannah loved his wife so
much but the Lord had shut her womb. I decree and I command that every
womb shut shall be opened in the name of Jesus. In 1 Samuel 1:6, the Bible
stated that because Hannah could not give birth to children, her adversary made
her fret, sad and sorrowful. May be there is an adversary that is provoking you,
despising you, mocking and laughing at you because of certain unpleasant things
in your life or because of the situation you are going through , I prophesy that
every adversary provoking you to make you sad and sorrowful in your situation
shall be disgraced in the name of Jesus. That is what the enemy did to Hannah in
1 Samuel 1 verse 7. Year after year when she went to the house of God, the
enemy provoked her to the point that she wept and lost her appetite for food and
for living. The enemy provoked Hannah year after year; she was turned into a
laughing stock. The Psalmist say ‘My tears have been my meat, day and night
when the enemy continually say unto me where is your God’. In Proverbs 4:16-
17, the Bible informed that there are certain kind of people, the only time they
sleep is when they have done mischief and when they have caused somebody to
fall because they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. I
decree into your life that, all those who year after year have provoked you, those
who have mocked you, those who have made you weep without a cause, those
who have made you lose appetite, those who are laughing at the situation you are
going through shall soon rejoice with you, God will turn your situation around
and make you sing a new song in the name of Jesus.
Beloved, Hannah got to a point in her life when she decided that
change must happen in her life. The desire for change is the catalyst for open
heaven and the next level. She got to a level where she believed her life as a
barren woman must come to an end. The desire for a change is a signal to yoke
braking. A man can exist forever behind his divine schedule for his indecision to
actively desire a change in his situation. After Jacob stole the blessing that is , in
the eyes of man his brother’s but which in the eyes of God is the blessing meant
for Jacob from the foundation of the world, and because it was spoken by God
even before they were born that the older will serve the younger but because
Jacob is a prayerless man until he met God at Jabok, he stole the blessing
that was originally meant for him. So when Esau came along after the blessing
was stolen, he cried and said father, father even if it is only one blessing, I don’t
mind, bless me too, but instead of blessing him, the father began to issue a
Pronouncement that cannot be regarded as a blessing but a curse. In Genesis 27:
39-40 Isaac spoke ‘Behold thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth and of the
dew of heaven from above. And by the sword shall thou live, and shall serve thy
brother,’ and in the second part of verse 40, Isaac spoke again ‘and it shall come
to pass when thou shall have dominion, that thou shall break his yoke from off
thy neck’. Another translation says ‘and it shall come to pass when thou shall
become restless, then thou shall break the yoke from off thy neck. You will agree
with me that Esau listened to his father’s advise and did brake the yoke because
when Jacob was to meet Esau, he has an entourage of four hundred
menservants. A man who has four hundred people under him is a man of great
exploit and prosperity Like Hannah, Esau got to a level in his live where his
restlessness and his desire to change his situation brought prosperity to his life.
Beloved, Hannah came to a junction in her life where she decided that
positive change must happen in her life. She got to a point where she believed her
life could no longer continue as such. May be you are tired of your present
situation and you want the unchangeable changer, the God of who can transfer
you from nothingness to a place of abundance, to change your situation like that
of Hannah, then you are in the right place because the God who change the
situation of Hannah will change your situation. So Hannah rose up after they
have eaten and went into the temple of the Lord, but amazingly, when Hannah
entered the temple, the man who represented God in Israel that time, a highly
respected servant and prophet of God was seated upon a post in the temple but
Hannah did not know, but you, know that God is here before you to
attend to your needs and your prayers, because He said where two or three are
gathered in His name, He is in the midst of them. Today, by the power that is far
above every name, God will attend to your requests and every problem weighing
you down shall expire, because surely there is an end and your expectation shall
not be cut off in the mighty name of Jesus. In verse 10 of I Samuel Chapter 1,
the Bible says, Hannah was in the bitterness of her soul and she prayed unto the
Lord and wept sour. She was in the bitterness of her soul. I want you to be angry
and bitter against that problem confronting you. Tell that problem, you have no
part in my life, you can no longer control, suppress, oppress and hinder my life
any more and because God separated Pharaoh from Israel, so I separate my life
from you. That is the attitude I want you to develop against every situation
confronting you today and as you do that, the God that answered by fire will
answer you.
Beloved, I want you to look at the starting point of Hannah’s prayer in
verse 11 of I Samuel Chapter 1. She made a vow to God and said ‘Oh Lord, if
you can look at my condition, my situation and remember me and not forget me
and give me a male child, then I will give him to you all the days of his life and no
razor shall come upon his head’. So you can tell God today and say oh Lord, I
make this vow today that, if only you can look at the problem I am passing
through and remember me and heal me, rescue me, deliver me, give me a new
job, vindicate me in that problem, acquit me of wrong doing in that case, make
me fruitful, grant me settlement from every immigration hindrances, bless me
physically and spiritually, fight the wickedness of my father’s house or
whatever your circumstances may be, then I will come before you and testify and
fulfil my vow, so her starting point is that she made a vow to God. After Hannah
had made a vow to God, in verse 12 of 1 Samuel she proceeded to aggressive
prayer before the Lord. The Bible says, the Prophet Eli marked her mouth, that
is, he observed her mouth as she prayed. Hannah prayed with her heart, her lips
were not moving and her voice was not heard and the man of God thought she
was drunk and he told her ‘how can you be drunk at this time of the day? Get
rid of your wine’, but she did not feel insulted neither was she angry at the
outburst of the man of God but she replied ‘ I have neither taken wine nor
strong drink, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit, I am a woman who is deeply
troubled and I have not drank wine or beer but I am pouring out my soul to
God, do not look at me as a daughter of belial or a wicked woman because out of
the abundance of my complaint, out of my grief and anguish I have prayed’.
Today, as you pray the prayer of Hannah, God will put an end to all your woes
by the power in the name of Jesus. Beloved, I want you to pour out your soul
before God today, the way Hannah poured out her soul before God and when
you do that, it is like a drunk man pouring out the story of his life after some
pints of drink. Beloved, you can get to a point in the place of prayer where you
are so drunk in the spirit of prayer and you began to pour out your soul unto the
Lord, the pain, the anguish, the sadness, the sorrow of the situation to the Lord,
you begin to release the stress and the burdens, the tension which you are ready
to cast unto the Lord, the weariness and the heaviness of your heart is being
released unto the Lord because you trust He can handle your situation and you
are ready to release the load that you have carried for so long into the able hand
of the Lord. This was the state Hannah was and the man of God thought she was
drunk with wine and so in verse 15 of 1 Samuel Chapter 1, Hannah said,
‘ I have neither drink wine nor strong drink but I have poured out my soul
before the Lord’. When a man or a woman is drunk in the Spirit, when a man’s
emotion is totally overtaken by the Spirit of God, when a man or woman is
carried into the presence of God by the outpouring of the power of the Holy
Ghost upon a life, because the presence of God is beyond physical, when a man
or woman got to a point in the place of prayer where his voice can no longer be
heard, that is a place of sub consciousness in the Holy Ghost where the relay
stick in the prayer runs has been handed over to the Holy Spirit, at that point the
Spirit of God takes over and becomes the Spirit of intercession and begins to
present the prayer request in communion with God for a release of answers to
such prayer request. The word of God stated that the Spirit of man is the candle
of the Lord searching the innermost part of the belly, so when you begin to pour
out your soul and your request to God, your spirit man begins to search the
mind of God concerning that request and once it is established that it is line with
the will of God, the Holy Ghost takes over and present it to God for approval.
Today, as you pour out your spirit before God, the Holy Spirit will take over and
intercede on your behalf and your request shall be granted in the name of Jesus.
The man who represented God in the temple replied Hannah in verse
17 of 1 Samuel Chapter 1 and declared ‘Go in peace and the God of Israel grant
thee thy petition that thou has asked of him and Hannah replied ‘May thy
handmaid find Grace in thy sight’. As you pray the prayer of Hannah, the God
of Israel shall grant you your petition, you shall encounter Grace, you will
receive favour in the sight of God and His favour shall possesses you in the name
of Jesus. In verse 18 of 1 Samuel Chapter 1, Hannah went out of the temple with
her request. She did not leave the temple empty handed. She came into the
temple barren, but she went home with a prophet in her womb. Her countenance
was sad and sorrowful when she entered the temple but by the time she left,
power has changed hands in her life, she was no longer sad, her story was
changed, her request was granted, her life was touched, she found Grace in
abundance!!!. I decree, you will not leave here empty handed. Whatever you
decree in the place of prayer today will be established in the name of Jesus.
Beloved, the prayer of the next level, the prayer of enough is enough, the prayer
of change, the prayer of divine intervention, the prayer to provoke the hand of
God of suddenly, the prayer to end stagnancy or delayed testimony, the prayer
that will break the heaven of brass over your head, the prayer to make what is
physically and seemingly impossible to become possible is the prayer of Hannah,
and as you pray, the Holy Ghost will take over from you and your request shall
be granted. I said the Holy Spirit will take over because the Bible stated in the
book of Roman Chapter 8 verse 26 that ‘ The Spirit helps in our infirmities for
we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself makes
intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered’. Hannah got to a
point that even though she was praying but her lips were moving but her voice
was not heard because the Holy Ghost interceded for her and tabled her request
before the Father. As from today, Holy Ghost will take over every of your prayer
request, He will intercede on your behalf, He will present your request before the
Father, your request shall encounter Grace and the Grace for answers to your
prayers shall possess you in the name of Jesus. I want you to stand up and pray
this prayer points.
1) Oh Lord my Father, I will not leave your presence empty handed, after the
order of Hannah, I move from barrenness into fruitfulness in the name of Jesus.
2) The Grace for answers to my prayers, after the order of Hannah, possess me
in the name of Jesus.
3) Oh Lord my Father, as I pour out my soul before you, look into my situation
and answer me without delay in the name of Jesus.
4) Holy Spirit of God, you are the Spirit of Intercession, intercede for me in the
place of prayer in the name of Jesus.
5) As from today, the Holy Spirit of God shall intercede for me in the name of
Jesus.
