Philippians 4:21-22-Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you. All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household.
Greet Every Saint-Those from different denominations, those from different backgrounds, the only stipulation is…In Christ Jesus. They must profess Jesus as their Savior.
There should be a special bond between Christians no matter what denomination they come from, there is more we agree on than we disagree on.
We should spend more time spreading the gospel, than arguing over certain doctrines, not that they are not important, but when the world looks at a denomination and they are at each other’s throat, does that really glorify God?
How people greet or fail to greet other Christians in a Church service reveals a lot about a Church!
We need to make sure we greet everyone, not just the ones in our clique!
Caesar’s household-Some plants, trees, or even animals can only survive in the environment they were born into but Christianity can flourish anywhere!!
Obadiah kept his integrity in the house of Ahab!
Daniel keep his integrity in the court of Babylon!
Nehemiah keep his integrity in the Persian palace!
God has always reached out to people no matter what there occupation was…Fisherman, Tax Collectors, Harlots, Soldiers, Religious Leaders, Tent Makers, Carpenters.
I have heard people say, “You can’t be a Christian where I work!”
But the truth is God can use anybody, at any place, at anytime!!
A preacher can preach from a sick bed as well as from a pulpit.
Martyrs did most for God’s kingdom when they were in clutches of their persecutors.
This household of Caesar, I wonder if they didn’t know about Christ till Paul got to Rome?
If they did accept Christ as their Savior, when Paul witness to them, think about the great lengths that God went to, to reach these people and what Paul went thru to reach these people!
2 Cor. 11:24-28-From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.
Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness—besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches
I know that he didn’t go thru all this just to reach that household for Christ, but they may have never heard the gospel if Paul wouldn’t have been imprisoned and sent to Rome.
God used all these hardships to further His kingdom!!
Now the question is? What are you willing to go thru to reach the lost?
