We Would See Jesus
Jesus came to Jerusalem and a lot of people followed him with palm branches crying:
V. 13 Ho-sanna blessed is the king of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Joh 12:20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: 21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
There were many people at the feast
Just like church every Sunday: There are many people that come, In the group of those that come are spectators, hypocrites, skeptics, doubters and scoffers
There are a few select people who came and who come for only one reason and that is to (worship God.)
They didn’t come to speculate , they didn’t come to criticize, they didn’t come to impress anybody with their new hat, or their new suit, or their new dress (They just came to worship.)
Is there anybody here right now who came just to worship? Is there anybody here who came just to glorify God, to worship him in Spirit and in truth?
These Greeks came to worship: they knew if they were really going to worship they needed to see Jesus.
If we’re really going to worship today we need to see Jesus.
Sir we would see Jesus:
We as the church and myself as a minister of the Gospel have failed to present to the World, the Jesus of the Bible.
We have preached organizations and denominations;
We have preached religion and traditions, rules and regulations.
We have preached Gods blessing plan and eight steps to a breakthrough and seven keys to your miracle.
We have preached the Bible so well, but have failed to preach Jesus.
(Somehow Jesus has got covered up with the privileges and blessings of being a child of God that we have forgotten or misplaced the Jesus of the Bible.)
It’s not religion or traditions or programs that saves the lost, heals the sick and sets the captives free.
Jesus Christ is the Savior, He is the healer, He is the deliverer and He is the Baptizer.
Many in the Church have lost sight of Jesus.
Many don’t even realize they have lost that vision.
They would rather have traditions than Jesus.
They would rather have blessings than Jesus.
Many people want Prosperity but they don’t want Jesus.
They want Healing but they don’t want Jesus.
They want Power but they don’t want Jesus.
They want Joy and Peace but they don’t want Jesus.
We will see a great revival when the cry of the Church is: We would see Jesus. .
When the Church can no longer be satisfied with anything less than a fresh vision of and the manifest presence of Jesus there will be a mighty revival.
Around the world today churches are shutting down.
Organizations are dying; people are leaving the Churches and going sinful lifestyles.
Why?
I believe it’s because we as the Church and ministers of the Gospel have failed to present Jesus to them.
Jesus said: John 12:32 If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.
He didn’t say: Lift up your Church or your Denomination or your doctrine.
He didn’t say: Lift up your Religion or your Traditions or your Programs.
He said: Lift me up:
Talk about me, witness about me, Preach about me, and teach about me.
*Let me live in your testimony
*Let me live in your Preaching
*Let me live in your Singing
*Let me be the main attraction
Let me be the reason for your gathering together then I will draw all men unto me and your Churches won’t die.
They’ll come alive with resurrection power.
Your churches won’t be empty.
They’ll fill up with hungry, and thirsty, broken, hurting and needy people.
We would see Jesus
We want to see Jesus
We need to see Jesus
We demand to see Jesus
Don’t just tell me about Him; don’t just show me pictures of Him.
If we can’t take a soul who is lost to Jesus we’ve failed in our mission.
If we can’t take the bound and the oppressed, the sick and the diseased to Jesus, we’ve failed in our mission.
I believe I see my mission with new eyes
Paul said: 1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
He determined that he would preach the life, the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ and Him coming to live in us through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Ro 1:16-17:For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation, to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For therein (the gospel of Christ) Is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, the just shall live by faith.
The Gospel is the Power of God unto Salvation = (this Word means healing for the body, deliverance to the bound, peace, prosperity, wholeness.
We don’t need the Gospel just for “Fire Insurance”.
We need to Gospel to live by everyday.
We must present to the world and to the Church the Jesus of the Bible.
The Jesus of Mercy and Compassion, who casts out devils, heals the sick, cleanses the lepers and raises the dead, works miracles and signs and wonders.
Many today say there are no such things as demons, or devils,
We are told that miracles and signs and wonders were just for the early church and they are no longer needed today.
The devil is a liar:
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and Power who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil for God was with him.
1Jn 3:8 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Mrk. 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
The first sign that would follow the believers was (in my name they shall cast out devils.) Then he said they shall speak with new tongues,.
These things have not passed away: Believers, Tongues
: They =(believers) shall take up serpents; meaning demons of sickness, disease, oppression.
And if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them,
They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
This is the Jesus of the Bible and this Jesus of the Bible is the same yesterday today and forever.
When the sinner sees him dying on the cross for their sins and they accept him as their sin substitute, they will be saved.
When the sick and the afflicted see Him at the whipping post
taking those stripes for their healing and deliverance, and that Jesus suffered in their place, and that He took their sicknesses and diseases, and He carried their sorrows, and they accept that by faith (they will be healed).
When the believer sees Jesus raised from the dead, having put their sins away and coming to live in them through the power of the Holy Ghost,
Then they will enter into the blessings and the benefits of the Christian life that were purchased for them through the atoning work of Jesus.
*I believe in divine healing.
*I believe in prosperity.
*I believe in the Church is divinely ordained by God.
My mission is to Preach Jesus, to lift up Jesus.
Without Jesus in our singing, our preaching, our teaching, there is no Gospel.
The world is dying to hear the (gospel of Jesus Christ).
Why is there such a lack of power in many of our Churches?
Why is there so much sickness in many of our Churches?
Why is there so much oppression and depression in our
Churches?
Why is there such a lack of the manifest presence and power of God in our individual lives?
How can we see him again?
We must hear the Bible preached again in the way that sets Jesus forth as the center of attraction.
Jesus the Savior, Jesus the Healer, Jesus the deliverer, Jesus the Miracle worker, Jesus the friend of sinners, Jesus the Baptizer in the Holy Ghost, Jesus the great Intercessor, Jesus the great Shepherd of the sheep.
He is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.
He is wonderful, counselor, prince of peace, Mighty God; He is the rose of Sharon, the Lilly of the valley, the daystar from on high, the bread of life.
He is sanctifier and Justifier
He is my shelter in the time of storm, He’s my shield and my buckler, my fortress and my high tower, He’s my rock and my anchor.
He is my Lion and He is my Lamb.
We have the answer to every problem in the world or in the Church and His name is Jesus.
*Who is going to take the blind sinner by the hand and lead them to Jesus the Savior?
*Who is going to take the sick, the suffering and the bound and the oppressed and lead them to Jesus the Healer and Deliverer and Miracle Worker?
It’s those who have seen Jesus: (Those who live with the revelation of Jesus before their faces.)
Jesus asked the question of his disciples: Who do the people say I am? We saw this last week.
The disciples began to tell Jesus what they had heard others say about Him.
But Jesus would not and will not settle for second hand information, He requires that we know Him by personal revelation.
He pressed his disciples: Who do you say that I am.
We cannot build our lives on second hand information; Peter answered, “Thou art the Christ the Son of the Living God”.
Jesus said: Blessed art thou Simon Bar-Jonas for flesh and blood hath not revealed this unto thee, but my father which is in heaven.
Peter was blessed because he had a revelation of Jesus.
When we lift up our eyes and get a revelation of Jesus we can be healed, we can be delivered; we can receive everything Jesus accomplished through His life, death, burial, and resurrection and His living and reigning in us by His Spirit.
We would see Jesus
We must see Jesus
We will see Jesus
