And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. 3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. 9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. 10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. 11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied
themselves to find the door.
Here is a shameless scene….Lot was Abrahams nephew and he is a judge in the city of Sodom…because verse 1 says “he sat in the gate”
It was at the gates of the city that legal things took place in that day. So, that was the best place for a judge to take care of sealing land deeds….judgment over outsiders and so on.
Many have questioned Lots salvation….There is a good reason….he moved to Sodom a place known for its immoral way of life…but his occupation was a judge ….a politician.
I feel personally that Lot followed his role as a judge and education into a life of politics.
But the Bible says Lot was a righteous man 2 Peter 2
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
Bible says Lot was vexed with filthy conversation of the wicked…..In other words..Lot was irritated….very tired of all Sodom’s wickedness and filthy ways.
Lot was living in a perverted city….a city that was so sinful that their evil had reached the very throne of God because the 2 Angels said in verse 13 of Genius chapter 19. For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
It’s interesting that the Bible says “because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD”
Cry of who?......I believe it’s the cry of the children and the innocent…..who ends up paying for mans evil ways?.....our children…..our grandchildren do.
Research states in this country that an estimated one in 20 teenage boys and adult men sexually abuse children and an estimated one teenage girl or adult woman in every 3,300 females molests children.
That's well over five million people.
Add together the child victims, the adult survivors, and the abusers, and that's 15 out of every 100 Americans who have been either a molested child or a molester.
The abuse rate in Sodom and Gomorra must have been very high….you will notice that when the homosexual men came to Lots house to get the 2 men visitors…not knowing they were Angels the Bible says… Verse 4..But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
Before they went to bed they came to Lots house….old and young!!...and all the people from every quarter…..most every male in the city came for those 2 men…..evil…wicked ….just don’t get much worse!!...men and boys all!!!...everyone in the neighborhood!!!
But what the young and old men didn’t know is that those 2 men were Angels sent by God to destroy the city.
Would it have made a different if they had announce what they were going to do?
Would it have made a different if the Angels had called a town meeting and said…Look..if this city don’t repent of its sin and homosexual ways….we are sent from God to destroy it.
I don’t think it would have made any differents….I think they would have laughed and made fun of them and maybe even tried to raped them….because their lust had over taken their belief….God had handed them over to their own self destructive ways.
If Lot was a righteous man and the Bible says he was…..why didn’t he rebuke them?....after all he was a judge….a politician.
A judge could be one who help make the laws and to keep standards for others to live.
I believe he was overlooking their sin and calling it freedom of choice….freedom to do what they please….after all it was their choice to be a homosexual…they chose a lifestyle of living outside of moral standards….so what is the moral standard?
Who made the morale laws for mankind?.. God did.. God set morale standards for man to live by.
….Thomas Jefferson made a statement concerning the morale standard of our government, he said.."Those are governed best who are governed least." Nevertheless, the Jews are quick to claim that Old Testament is composed of six hundred and thirteen laws. Indeed it is true that the Old Testament was one of the pillar documents used during the formation of the United States Constitution.
What happen to those pillar documents of the Old Testament Thomas Jefferson was talking about?....they were out voted over the years by man’s sinful nature and lustful ways..
God established morale laws for mankind…. So why did God give the Law or the Ten Commandants?...Is the Law intended to be sin? The Apostal Paul says in (Rom 7:7…“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law”.
We understand sin because of the law…because of the Ten Commandments.
If America keeps moving in the direction that its going, this nation will end up judging itself! The Bible says, (Gal 6:7). “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” The same is true for a nation; it reaps what it sows.
Like the Roman Empire that never was defeated by war….but was defeated from the inside out…by sin….political corruption is how a nation is defeated morally and destroyed.
Sin and immoral ways will always destroy man or nation…….

We allowed prayer to be taken out of our school systems by our government……what percentage of Americans did it take to get that done?.....ONE person In 1963, Madalyn Murray O'Hair won a lawsuit against the Baltimore School System, which voted in her favor 8-1 to ban school prayer and label it "unconstitutional"….one person
Like I said a few minuties ago…..who pays for mans evil and immoral ways?....our children do….our grandchildren do….our so called American dream is crushed by mankinds sinful ways of greed and lustful lifestyle.
Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it:….verse 4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Bible is saying….our children’s future is in our hands….we let immoral laws get pasted by only a handful of immoral people and it slowly takes away from the way God intended for His first institution to live….what was the first institution God formed?.....the family….God intended for one man and one woman to bare children …to protect them …show them a life that is Godly and more abundant…..to trust God for everything …keeping a prayer life and family values with moral standards for their children for generations to come.
We may not can change the way things are but, God hears His own in prayer…..goverment can take prayer out of public places but, never out of the heart of Gods people….pray for our country…pray for our children…and grandchildren.
How about you this morning?......are you living outside of Gods will for your life…..If you knew that Jesus was returning today….would you be frighten and ashamed?
It doesn’t have to be that way….God loves you and wants only a relationship with you and take away those sins of guilt and shame. The only way to do that is to accept His Son Jesus as you Saviour.
That’s what God came to this earth to do over 2000 years ago was to pay the price of your sins by His death on the cross.
He came as baby Jesus ….grew to a man with one thing in mind and that was to pay the price of you sins and mine once and for all….and all you have to do is to believe and ask Him to forgive you and come into your life and save you from the judgment of sin.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Today is the day…tomorrow may be to late….
Pray for our country….pray for our children and our grandchildren….because according to the Bible….things are not going to get any better until Jesus returns….things are going to get worse much worse…ask Him into your life today
