Cling on to God!
2 Timothy 1:7”For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. “
The strategy of the devil is this – to scare and confuse you! Beware! If I say I never fear or feel insecure then that would be a blatant lie, there are enormous times that the devil tries to plant fear in my mind regarding my health, ministry, family and kids; but I have kicked him off from me through the Word. Hallelujah! Recently after a major operation, after the required period of rest, I had to get vigorously involved in traveling, preaching and also in the work related to our school. Each time I feel weak or when I have some sort of pain, a sudden fear and thoughts of hospitalization, operation would come to my mind. I would quickly separate time to be with Him and read His Word and muster courage to erase the negative thoughts. Please remember, I am no super-woman, the same thoughts that torment you, torment me too; yet, I overcome it through the blood of Jesus. The Bible says: Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe. “ I think, I am helping someone today!
There is a whole lot of reasons, like never before to fear: we are overloaded with bad news, everything we hear seems to be negative. News broadcasts speak only of murder, child abuse, death, and tragedy. If you are not careful to cling to God then you would be swept away by the devil. Joshua told the people of Israel, ‘but you shall ‘cling’ to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.’ (Joshua 23:8)
I feel people ‘cling’ on to the search engine ‘GOOGLE’ more than God! No wonder people are terrified, confused and alarmed! Are you listening to me? The moment there is a pain or if there is a discomfort in the body, people get into Google to gather ‘information’ rather than get into the Word to gather faith! I am speaking to someone out there! Get into the Word! I have done that and received not only healing but comfort, courage and confidence, “without faith it is impossible to please (God).” (Hebrews 11:6) There are computer savvy intellectuals who tell you, ‘use your brains, be wise, look at the doctor’s report, take a bank loan but the Word of God says:
- by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
- He is our God who heals us
I know of a woman who would constantly talk of dreams and visions and keep disturbing people at home; none of her dreams have ever edified people, though. As I kept monitoring her, I found that she was spiritually weak and I guess she was giving in to the lie of the devil. Ignore the evil reports and trust the Word of God that would never fail! Friends, please always look into the Bible for instructions rather than quickly falling for the deception of the enemy.
Knowledge of the Bible would be a cushion for you to rest and relax and trust in His promises to keep you safe!
