Eagles are among the most amazing creatures that YEHOVAH God created. Solomon himself wrote in the book of Proverbs,
Prov. 30:18-19 There be three things which be too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not: The way of an eagle in the air...
Eagles are…
Strong
• eagles can carry prey weighing about as much as they do up to their nest.
• Fly up with logs to build the nest.
They FLY where lesser birds cannot fly…
• Wings to fly –
o wingspan of 7-9 feet wide.
o Weight – up to 15 pounds
o swooping down at a speed of better than 100 miles an hour, brakes with such stunning skill -- spreading wings and tail in an aerial skid-stop -- that it comes to a dead halt in the space of 20 feet."
GREATEST vision of all birds…
• can sight their prey while soaring high in the sky.
• "Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high? She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place. From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off" (Job 39:29).
• Wise
• Don’t breed with other birds on the ground
• They mate high in the air
o They don’t breed with chickens…
She raises and trains her eaglets up high!
Build nest/s up high
• In mountains
• On sheer cliffs
o They are hatched up HIGH! Born there…
Nests have been seen anywhere from 3 feet wide, to 10 feet wide – 20 feet deep. Weighing an incredible 2 tons!!!
She finds a CLIFF, gathers sticks and flies up and builds the nest, so when she gives birth, the nest is already built!
• A collection of branches from where she’s already been.
o The historical reference of her story is in the sticks!
BEFORE the eggs are hatched!
• The eggs don’t get to pick their nest. BORN into it.
Everything we learn helps to shape who we are! THEY HELP BUILD THE NEST and who we are… (adding sticks to nest)

• Being a man of your word or NOT a man of your word is determined by the nest you’ve lived in…
The eagle takes ALL the sticks & lays them in such a way so that when the eaglets hatch NONE of the sticks are protruding into the
nest.

• When the time is right, she lays eggs IN the nice, cushy, comfortable, nest…

o All early development is manifested in the NEST!
BUT…
The nest that was a BLESSING becomes a CURSE if you stay in it too long!
• Some may leave for a bit, but usually come back to the familiar nest!
o Prisoners can be freed but because they miss the familiarity of the prison. They may commit a crime to GO BACK to their nest!
o Many live similar lives; even drama becomes familiar so they go back, NO peace, but it’s familiar…
NO joy, but I am familiar with that…
SO… the EAGLE stirs the nest.
Stirring is different than building!
• BUILDING of the nest is a protection of the egg…
o When the EAGLET has grown TOO BIG, for something so small!!!
ARE YOU…

• TOO TIGHT but familiar…
• COMFORTABLE???
o I don’t have to try to be better…
o I don’t need to step out, they BRING MY FOOD to me in here…
o I’m okay! This system fits the environment I am in, EVEN IF it IS too small for who I am!
SO…the same mother who made it COMFORTABLE, SAFE, COZY, in the nest, takes her beak…
• The protrusions that were on the outside, she brings them INSIDE and they point inside and make it UNCOMFORTABLE to STAY in the nest…
o they rough it up with their talons, and make it uncomfortable, so that sticks and sharp ends and pointy spurs stick out of the nest, so that it is no longer soft and secure, ruining their "comfort zone."
• The nest is made very inhospitable, as the eagles tear up the "bedding," and break up the twigs until jagged ends of wood stick out all over like a pin cushion.
o Life for the young eaglets becomes miserable and unhappy.
Why would Mom and Pop do such a thing?
Deut 32:11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: KJV
• She is STIRRING UP THE NEST!!!
• FLUTTERETH over - But to make matters worse, then the mother eagle begins to "flutter her wings" at the youngsters, beating on them, harassing them, and driving them to the edge of the nest.
o Intimidated by such an attack, the little eagles climb up on the edge of the nest.
• Unfortunately, some little eagles never do learn to fly, however. They stubbornly refuse to use their wings, and fly on their own. Despite numerous attempts by the mother eagle to teach them to "fly," they rebel. Flying is not for them! They will just stick to the nest, and depend on others to do their "flying" and "thinking" for them.
• In sheer exasperation, the time finally comes when the mother realizes there is no room for such a child. So she takes him one last time up on her back, and soars high into the air, and with a wild screech of disappointment and pain, she dives out from under him and flies away, leaving him to his fate -- either fly -- or die.
• Fly -- or die. That's it. The little eagle either catches himself, and begins to fly on his own, or he is a "goner." If he doesn't fly this time, he will surely crash and smash upon the rocks below.
What used to be nice, comfy and NORMAL has BEEN STIRRED by the eagle!
• The protrusions that kept away the wolf now are poking the eagle when it tries to sit and it can’t SIT anymore!
o THE EAGLE HAS STIRRED THE NEST…
What used to work for you, what fed you, and used to work is now TOO SMALL FOR WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO IN YOUR LIFE!!!
• The same God that built the nest NOW IS STIRRING THE NEST!!!
o It can be confusing to you! UNCOMFORTABLE!!!
The eaglet faces EVICTION from the nest…
• Challenging reasons or excuses of why you can’t be anymore or grow anymore or BECOME any more than you are, NOW THE EAGLE IS STIRRING YOU and PUSHING THE ISSUE!!!
IF the eaglet would attempt to fly from the nest instead of refusing to CHANGE, GROW, DEVELOP, GET OUT OF COMFORT ZONE and fly, the eagle wouldn’t have to mess up the nest!
WHEN THE EAGLE STIRS THE NEST, THE EAGLETS FACE EVICTION!!!
WHEN EAGLETS REFUSE TO CHANGE, GROW, EXPLORE, … you’ll be forced to the EDGE!!!
Eaglets that…
• Respond to conflict the way they were raised…
• Anger… Lack of Spiritual commitment…pouting…. Temper…lazy
o GOD IS STIRRING YOUR NEST! TIME TO FLY AND BE THE EAGLE HE HAS CALLED YOU TO BE!!!

• Jesus said I’ve already been stirred up & have no nest to rest
• AND IF YOU FOLLOW ME, YOU WILL HAVE TO LEAVE THE COMFORT zone …
o Following Jesus means you can’t REST IN YOUR NEST ANYMORE!!!
o You can’t get this Word, follow Jesus and stay where YOU STARTED!!! You have to FLY TO BE AN EAGLE!!!
I don’t run with people who are comfortable with less that God created them to be!

Something is calling me! Stirring me! Sticking me!

• If I stay in this nest I WILL NEVER BECOME what I was created to be. I must get outta the nest.
A season of discomfort! A season of unrest!
• If you don’t want to get outta the nest, then you don’t want to BE CLOSE TO JESUS!!!
o He busts up NESTS AND TAKES YOU ON A TRIP!!!
At this point, the mother eagle "spreads her wings" and, to escape her winged fury, the little eagle climbs onto her back, and hangs on for dear life. As if that were not enough, then the mother eagle launches out into space, and begins to fly, carrying the eagle on her back. All seems safe and serene, the little eagle never expected such a thrilling ride -- but that was nothing to what was to come shortly.
For suddenly, without any warning, the mother eagle DIVES, plummeting downward, depriving the little eagle of its "seat," and the next thing it knows, it is in free fall, falling, and tumbling down, down, down, in the air, its wings struggling to catch hold of the air currents, but flopping crazily due to its inexperience. For it must learn to fly, and there is nothing like "experience" to teach an eagle to fly! Instinct alone is not enough!
Rom 5:4 experience brings hope
Just at it thinks all is hopeless and lost, the mother eagle swoops down below and catches it once again on its back, and soars back into the atmosphere. Much relieved, the young eagle hangs on for dear life. But just when he thinks everything is "OK" once again, the mother pulls another sneaky trick, and dumps him into the air, alone, again! Once again, the little eagle struggles, this time his wings begin to work a little better, and instead of tumbling like a rock pulled by gravity to certain destruction below, he manages to slow his descent, and is able to stay aloft a little longer, as his wings begin to strengthen. Again, if necessary, the mother eagle rescues him from death, and soars back into the heavens. But just as he thinks everything is finally "hunky dory," she does it again! And down he goes!
Finally, he learns how to catch the air currents and ride the winds, and begins to soar "like an eagle" -- and now experiences the thrill of total "freedom" and "liberty"!
Now he is no longer confined to the parameters of the nest. Now he is free to soar in the sky, and to be a true "eagle."
You got to get out of your nest!!! TIME TO FLY!!! Soar in the Spirit…
Go to the next level! NOT STAY THERE. YOU STARTED THERE, BUT TIME TO MOVE ON!!!
CLOSING:
Know why you’re frustrated?
• The wings you started out with, what you had has grown and developed and is TOO BIG for WHERE YOU ARE NOW!!!
• You can’t live in that place, YOU ARE TOO BIG FOR WHERE YOU ARE TRYING TO DWELL!!!
o YOU CAN’T STRETCH THERE!!!
Your potential is too great to be housed in a nest!!!
* Your wings are hanging out the side of the nest.
*. What started out as a protection has become a prison.
Your apathetic, lazy, indifferent, attitude, your disconnect, this is ALL how you adjust to being imprisoned in something that God NEVER intended for you to stay in!
- you started there, but weren't to stay there...
SOLUTION...
1st thing is not a new environment or new something... BUT a NEW MIND!!!
- a new mind starts noticing, "this nest is ugly!!! Look at all that blue sky out there. And here I sit in all of my excuses..."
- Jesus told me: "I have come that you might have LIFE, and LIFE MORE abundantly..." And here I sit, watching LIFE pass me by!!!
This is too small.
I'm to big to keep sitting, in my nest! What used to please me, doesn't please me anymore...
God is trying to LAUNCH you out of the nest!!!

- start spreading your wings in prayer!!!
- stretching yourself in worship!
- take the leap onto His wings and let Jesus carry you to heights!!!
