"If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price." -Author Unknown.
"The ultimate lesson all of us have to learn is unconditional love, which includes not only others but ourselves as well."- Elisabeth Ross
I Corinthians 6:19-20; I Corinthians 7:19-24
Bought with a price; a very high price… the Blood of the Christ.
Galatians 3:8 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:15 “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;”
It’s not about Jew or Gentile; It’s not about male or female;
It’s about being Blood Bought!
King David; we think of him as…
The bear and lion slayer and the giant killer;
The fleer from King Saul’s wrath;
The warring King;
The adulterer and husband killer;
A man after God’s own heart.
And so he is… and yet he was also Jonathan (Saul’s sons) dear friend.
And David had a deep compassion within him.
II Samuel 9:1 “1Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
“As for Mephibosheth”, said the king, “he shall eat at my table like one of the king’s sons.”
Mephibosheth was lame…
When he would try to stand he would fall.
He needed help to stand; to walk. Running wasn’t even an option.
Psalm 145:14 “The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.”
God’s covenant with Israel was likened to a covenant of marriage: Ezekiel 16:1-3 “1- Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2- Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations, 3- And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem;…”
Ezekiel 16:7-8 “I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great… 8- Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.”
Ezekiel 16:15 “But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.”
Ezekiel 16:20 “…Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter”
Ezekiel 16:23 “And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)”
Ezekiel 16:26 “Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.”
Ezekiel 16:28-30 “Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable [impossible to satisfy; "an insatiate appetite"]; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied. 29- Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith. 30- How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious [arrogant] whorish woman;”
Ezekiel 16:32 “But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!”
Therefore God’s old covenant people going after other gods is likened to an unfaithful or harlot wife:
Hosea 1:2-4 “2- The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD. 3- So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son. 4- And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.”
Hosea 1:6 “And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.”
Hosea 1:8-9 “…she conceived, and bare a son. 9- Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.”
Hosea 2:2-5 “2- Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts; 3- Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst. 4- And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms. 5- For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully:…”
When God established the Mosaic covenant, He told Moses the following:
Deut. 31:16-17 “Behold, you will rest with your fathers; and this people will rise and play the harlot with the gods of the foreigners of the land, where they go to be among them, and they will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them. Then My anger shall be aroused against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured…”
Revelation 17-18 is the prophesied destruction of harlot Israel, God’s unfaithful old covenant people.
Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
Hosea 4:16 “For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer:…”
Hosea 10:2 “Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty:…”
Hosea 10:13 “Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way…”
Hosea 11:17 “And my people are bent to backsliding from me:…”
Hosea 13:9 “O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.”
Hosea 3:1-3 “1- Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine. 2- So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley: 3- And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.”
He bought her off the auction block of sin.
Jesus the Christ paid the price for each of us.
He shed His precious blood on Calvary.
He died that we might have life.
Not just physical life, rather, spiritual life, eternal life.
Now live!
