Zec 4:1 And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
Zec 4:2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
Zec 4:3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
Zec 4:4 So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
Zec 4:5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Zec 4:11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
Zec 4:12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
Zec 4:13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
Zec 4:14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
Wht are thee 2 olive trees he asked 3 times these are the 2 oily ones or anointed
Zech didn’t have a huge problem w/ this vision other than who th anointed ones were
Didn’t have a problem w/ the candlesticks or the 7 feeder tubes that came from the bowl or the tubes that came from thebowl
But his question was who is the 2 that are on each side
The angel wqas not overly specific other than saying these are 2 anointed ones that stand by the lord of the whole earth.
Zechwas a prophet to the remnant of Gods people which returned to Jerusalem after 70 years of captivity
The prophet was awakend from spiritual slumber which we read about in our text
He saw 2 olive trees
1 on either side
2 golden tubes on each side coming down to a bowl carrying the oil from the trees to the bowl. From the bowl there was 7 spouts carrying oil down to the 7 golden candlesticks.
This was his vision.
This vision was the word of the lord for zerubabel not for zechriah personally. So the symbolism for thevision would be interpreted by the prophet and given to another.
When prophets in the old testament came around therewas usually trouble. Judgement was coming warning was coming. Seldom was it a fresh breath of air when the old prophet came around. In zech the 3rd chpt hetalks about theresistance of satan and then in the 5th chpt he is talking about wickedness. nestled in between 3 and 5 we have the 4th chapter and it is a prophecy of encouragemtn.
If you are discouraged and facing a daunting challenge if you feel insuffcicent then there is aword from god for you today. Then you can leave here full of faith.

Zerubabel was the leader of over 42000 returning back to gods promise. They were with him after 70 years of captivity
He is the governor. He has repsobility and oversight for rebuilding the temple
Hisname tells us important info. Of his nature and his character.
His name means zeru menas born in descending from or the seed of
Babel means mixed disorderperplexed confusion
He has been saddled w/ a name that is bad. He is not a citizen of Jerusalem but aforeighneer.
No memory root or experience. He was carried away before he was was born born during captivity
He is the offspring of perplexity and confusion during captivity.
Never seen the temple no blueprints never been to Jerusalem. Never seen the preists in the temple.
Its foreign to him no showbread no candlesticks no altar knows nothing
Yet he was chosen by god still born into captivity
Zerubable did not spend 40 days on a mnount like moses to get his plans. No specs no directions not like Solomon who david prepared the materials to build
Zerubable no doubt had the faded stories of men of old.
Why would god choose a young man like zeruababel.. why me? Wh yu?
The worst choice the most unqualified. Yet everybody is with him. Seems like god is thworst choser of people.
Ezr 3:10 And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.

When itgets just thefoundation they are excited except for some wh0 wept it was mingled and muddled
Haggai asked whois left among you wh saw the house in its 1st glory? Is it not in your eyes as nothing no interst no value no consequence no big deal you haven’t doen anything yet
Not anything like the old times zerubabel.
He was discouraged he was sure that the former beauty and glory could never be restored. He realized he was sorely inadequate
So for 16 years the work stopped. He was confused and hurt and stopped and questioned god maybe I missed the voice of god
Robbed of zeal and ambition. He tried so hard but it was not good enough. He felt lie his life was nothing. For 16 years what might have been failure regret guilt shame confusion.

He got this vision of this thing of an olive tree on either side
Hesaw coming out of theolive tree a golden tube and down that goldentube flowed olive oil it collected in the bowl on the top and out of the bowl there were 7 pipes 7 feeder tubes that came down to the 7 golden candle sticks and they were all lit up and was constantly being fed by the oliveoil
Who are these olive trees? These are anointed or oily ones.
When saul got anointed there was a vial where theoil trinkled
When david was anointed god said fill you hon with oil and he was anointed with a whole horn of oil
But here we have 2 men who didn’t have just a little bit of oil but are actually saturated a tree of anointing.
Tell this to zerubable thman of god who is so discouraged.
You just don’t get olive oil out of thetree you have to beat the tree to get the oil
The olives had to be picked up washed and crushed and then theoil and water had to be separated
2000 lbs olives only produces 25 gal of oil
You only get about a gallonof oil per tree
Many trees must be beat to keep theoil burning in thetemple.
The more the tree is harvested from the more bruised andscarred tge tree is.

There is going to be a perpetual flow of anointing from you because god says so.

When your enemy tries to tell you, you are nothing you answer back with anointing.
