I. EXORDIUM:
Are you righteous? Do you enjoy these benefits?
II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:
Believers
III. OBJECTIVES:
To show and enumerate the benefits of the righteous.
IV. TEXT:
Proverbs 10:1-32 (New International Version)
The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother.
Ill-gotten treasures are of no value, but righteousness delivers from death.
The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.
He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.
Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.
The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.
The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.
He who winks maliciously causes grief, and a chattering fool comes to ruin.
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.
Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.
Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks judgment.
Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.
The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor.
The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.
He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
He who conceals his hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads slander is a fool.
When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.
The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.
The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct, but a man of understanding delights in wisdom.
What the wicked dreads will overtake him; what the righteous desire will be granted.
When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.
As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is a sluggard to those who send him.
The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.
The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.
The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous, but it is the ruin of those who do evil.
The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land.
The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out.
The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.

VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. What is righteousness and who are the righteous?
We can't rely on the definitions of righteous and righteousness from the Old Testament as it's both based on man, and what is based on man are doomed to fail for it's not yet completed without the New Covenant's definitions of righteousness and righteous.
Matthew 3:15 (Amplified Bible)
But Jesus replied to him, Permit it just now; for this is the fitting way for [both of] us to fulfill all righteousness [that is, to perform completely whatever is right]. Then he permitted Him.
Hebrews 10:38 (New International Version)
But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him."
We see righteousness is to perform completely whatever is right and a righteous person is someone who lives by faith. We understand that this is faith not based on man again but faith based on CHRIST JESUS Himself, that's the Good News, no longer in us that fails but on GOD Himself, the Man CHRIST JESUS.
Romans 1:17 (New International Version)
For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
Galatians 2:16 (Amplified Bible)
Yet we know that a man is justified or reckoned righteous and in right standing with God not by works of the Law, but [only] through faith and [absolute] reliance on and adherence to and trust in Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). [Therefore] even we [ourselves] have believed on Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law [for we cannot be justified by any observance of the ritual of the Law given by Moses], because by keeping legal rituals and by works no human being can ever be justified (declared righteous and put in right standing with God).
B. What does righteousness benefits us? (Proverbs 10:1-32)
It's overwhelming they are just too many of them and believe it or not, we know it or not once we have faith in the finished work of the LORD JESUS as our LORD and SAVIOR, automatically all the benefits enumerated are given to us and we enjoy them in our lives here on earth, and people around us enjoyed it's benefits too.
There's no need to explain each of them as such are very obvious and easy to understand, they all need faith to begin with, from first to last, they need faith to operate. All these benefits are livable and our lifestyle once we live in lifestyles of faith. The author of Proverbs 10 can't help but compare the righteousness benefits with that of the wicked or the absence of benefits thereof, because the wicked does not live by faith in the LORD JESUS CHRIST to begin with but only lives for himself.
