The Fall of Babylon
Revelations 18:1-24
The final world empire will be greater than all the empires before it. It will bring a temporary peace for 3 ½ years and there will also be great economic success. The last 3 ½ years will be just the opposite due to the judgments of God. This 18th chapter of Revelation foretells the end of what is called Babylon the Great.

1. Her Delicacies

Mention: 1 Tim. 6:5 There is this mentality in our society today that riches and all that come with it symbolizes God’s favor. Paul writes to Timothy and warns him of such attitude. “Supposing that gain is godliness”

“I sit a queen and am no widow”

Why the world is focusing on building wealth its spiritual condition has become an all time low!
Mention: 2 Tim. 3:4 Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
Vs.2 it has become the habitation of devils…
Vs.5 Her sin have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
2. Her Destruction
See: Vs.2 Babylon is fallen…
“For in one hour…” Vs.10, 17, and 19 The one hour is figuratively speaking of sudden destruction.
a. The Merchants
See: Vs.11, 15 They shall weep and mourn over their lost
See: Vs.19 They cast dust on their heads…
See: Vs.23 For by thy sorceries were all nations deceived
Sorceries = Pharmakea, pharmacy or simply drugs
The use of drugs have multiplied itself today and now even legalized in some places
b. The Martyrs of God
See: Rev. 6:9-11 Those slain for their faith crying how long unto the Lord will He avenge their blood on them that dwell on the earth.
See: Rev. 18:24 She is guilty of slaying God’s people
Rev. 18:6 God will reward them double
c. The Method of Destruction
See: Rev. 18:8 she shall be burned with fire…

3. The Disposition of Heaven
Rev. 18:.20 rejoice over her, thou heaven…

The only way to escape the pending judgment is to accept Christ as your Savior!
