THE SIX GLORIES OF GOD
Today there are so many lost Christians because they do not have a prophetic understanding of where God is taking His church in this present season.
God will always give His children something tangible so that we can it can help our faith to believe in the intangible or invisible, There are many types and shadows in the Old Testament that gives a better understanding of spiritual things. We are better able to understand and grasp spiritual things when we see the type and shadow in the Old Testament. For example, we can have a better understanding of the anointing when we learn how God instructed Moses to create a physical anointing that could be seen and touched.
God reveals Himself through His glory and His glory has to do with the tangible, localized reality of His presence.
Moses used all the different components that were compounded together that he used that to anoint holy vessels in the tabernacle.
We also have better understanding of Jesus as the sacrificial lamb when we study how the Israelites took a spotless lamb and sacrificed it and shed its blood for the sins of the people. When Jesus came, He shed His precious blood and became the sacrificial lamb so that no longer have to sacrifice animals,. But God used that physical, tangible method in the Old testament so that we can understand the spiritual value of salvation.
The same applies when we study the coming glory of God. The church is about to step into a new season of God’s Glory and in order to have a better understanding of this prophetic coming move of God, we need to once again look at the type and shadow of the glory of God which was manifest tangibly and physically so that we can build up our faith for what is about to be released upon the earth.
God has great plans for His church in the last days and the church is going to finish strong and not weak. The bible teaches us that the coming glory is going to be greater than any past experiences.
We are going to study the six glories of God and shown in Scripture.
If we look at the glory of God throughout history, we find that God has always used one person who initiates the glory with twelve others. In other words, there is always one leader and twelve key persons that God uses and this pattern follows right through to the New Testament. Prophetically, we can conclude that this will also apply to any future manifestations.
1. THE GLORY OF MOSES
The first glory that the Bible refers to is the glory of Moses. Moses started his spiritual journey with God when he encountered God at the burning bush. God began to unveil His plan to save the Israelites from bondage and hardship. Whenever God shows up, it is to bless the people and to sue use them or a greater glory or a greater purpose for His kingdom. It usually starts out with small things and the big surprises come later. When we are faithful with small steps of faith, God eventually entrusts us with greater things that produce greater blessings for ourselves and for others.
When Moses walked towards the burning bush, he took his first step towards God. When we step towards the miraculous and believe God for miracles then God can trust us with His glory. I am sure Moses must have encountered a lot of burning bushes in the hot desert and he could so easily have dismissed this one. But he did not and walked towards in faith. The very message of his life, purpose, and ministry came through that burning bush. God chose one person to connect with and that person had the key to the destiny of an entire nation that would affect it for countless future generations.
There are so many things that we as believers dismiss as irrelevant or unimportant but they are things that God is showing us that has spiritual significance and can lead the way for us for the rest of our life. Do not despise the beginning of small things.
You may have taken a step by faith and started Bible school and that step of can be your burning bush experience which will lead you to greater things in the future so that you can burn brighter for Jesus. this is the way God works. It is His pattern and not ours.
Moses had his first encounter with the supernatural at the burning bush and from that day onwards God started using him great authority when he confronted Pharaoh with supernatural signs and wonders.
Exodus 24:16-18 - Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
The glory of God was seen as a physical cloud that rested on people and places in the Old Testament. The same miracle is going to happen today. It’s coming and it is going to rest on God’s people.
It rested on Mount Sinai. The sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. Moses went up the mountain into the midst of the cloud and was on top of the mountain for forty days and forty nights.
Exodus 33:18 - And he said, "Please, show me Your glory."
We often wonder why Moses had such a supernatural encounter with the Lord. Well, he asked God for it! Many times we are waiting for God to move, but instead, God is waiting for us to exercise our faith. Moses had a desire for more of God. This is a prayer the church should be praying in this season.
There were so many other things that Moses could have asked God for, but instead he asked to see His glory.
Moses knew that if God showed him His glory, god would show him His plan. Moses knew he had a difficult journey ahead with difficult people. He knew it was going to be a rough road. At times the Christian walk can be hard and can be filled with so many obstacles and opposition.
After Moses experienced God’s glory, he descended from the mountain with the two stone tablets in his hands. God will never ever place His glory upon people without the word to sustain them. We need to embrace the word of God which contains all the instructions needed to apply in our lives. Today, Christians want the fire and glory but they do not want to study God’s Word.
Exodus 40 – (Extracts) - And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was raised up. So Moses finished the work. Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the LORD was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
After receiving instructions from God, Moses immediately began building the tabernacle in accordance with God’s design. People that are obedient and busy with the things of God are blessed by God. Moses followed that pattern that he was given and finished the work.
God does not want His children to start projects and leave them unfinished. Moses finished what he started which resulted in a cloud of glory that covered the tabernacle. God will always bless our work especially if it is according to what He desires.
From that onwards, the cloud gave the people direction. God wants to lead us to a good place in our journey with Him. He promises never leave us.
In this time in history, God raised up one leaders as well as the twelve tribes of Israel who were key people in God’s plan.
2. THE GLORY OF SOLOMON
1 Kings 8 – (Extracts) - Now Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the City of David, which is Zion. then they brought up the ark of the LORD, the tabernacle of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tabernacle. The priests and the Levites brought them up. Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD. Then Solomon spoke: "The LORD said He would dwell in the dark cloud. I have surely built You an exalted house, And a place for You to dwell in forever."
God allowed Solomon to build the temple in Jerusalem which would be a permanent home for the Ark of the Covenant and a place of worship for His people. The temple took seven years to build.
The Ark contained nothing except the two tablets of stone which God had given to Moses. God’s glory filled the temple and the priests could not minister because of the cloud.
We tend to carry too much spiritual baggage. If we are to experience God’s glory, the only thing we should carry within us is the anointed Word of God. Things like traditions, cultures, and opinions should be put out as they do not belong in the holy places of God.
1 Kings 6:14 - So Solomon built the temple and finished it.
Solomon finished the work just as Moses had done. God used Solomon and twelve other key persons. They were the twelve governors that were appointed during his reign.
3. THE GLORY OF JESUS
Matthew 17:1-3 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
During the time of His ministry, God used Jesus to preach the good news of the kingdom and to bring salvation to the world. The twelve disciples the His key persons in His ministry.
Most theologians believe that this was the same mountain where Moses received the tablets. Jesus is the Word of God and God’s glory came upon Jesus in a similar way as it came upon Moses.
The same glory that shone through Moses, shone through the Son of God from heaven.
Jesus became the intermediary connection between the natural and spiritual realms. Christ will one day reign as the Tabernacle of the Lord.
4. THE GLORY OF PENTECOST
Acts 2:1-4 - When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Jesus is the risen Lord and now builds His Kingdom from heaven through the twelve apostles who are the key persons.
This is the glory that came upon the one hundred and twenty in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost when they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. This marked the beginning of the church age which was birthed through the apostles and for two thousand years God has been building His church. It is not a perfect church but the glory of God makes it perfect. Jesus build the church and it is built through the glory of God.
Haggai 2:9 - The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the LORD of hosts.
Every believer today is the temple of the Holy Spirit which means each and every child of God can experience the glory of God in order to His church into its fullness and collectively, the glory of the latter temple is greater than the glory of the former temple.
5. THE GLORY OF THE CHURCH
There is a great expectancy in the church today as we discern the times and seasons and understand that we are living in the last days. God has promised that he will pour out His spirit in the last days and the church worldwide is looking forward to and expecting en end time. Many believe this will be the greatest move of God in history and will harvest millions of people into the kingdom of God before the end comes.
We do not know the exact details of God’s plan, but we do know that He is going to advance His purposes through His church.
Just as God did with Moses, God is going to use His glory to bring order to His church.
The church today is not perfect. It is broken, divided, poor, powerless, but it is going to be united and strong. One thing that can unite God’s people is the glory of God. God’s glory is going to come upon His temple and we are going to do mighty things for God.
But there are a few conditions. Just like Moses, we are going to have to receive a divine strategy from God so that the house can come into divine order in accordance with god’s plan.
Moses obediently followed the pattern. He followed it obediently and did not argue with God. He worked with God. He anointed each part of the tabernacle. We are made up of different parts and we need each part of Christ’s body to be anointed for service.
When the glory came upon the Ark, no one saw the parts – they only saw the glory. The world is going to look at the church with all its faults but this anointed body of Christ is going to shine like a mighty light on God’s people and then we are going to see how God is going to use us to take the fire of God to the nations. I do not believe that revival will come until the glory comes.
Habakkuk 2:14 - For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.
Matthew 24:14 - And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Jesus Himself will command this revival from heaven through his present-day apostles who will be the commanders on the ground orchestrating a formidable army of anointed men and women carrying the glory of God to the ends of the earth.
I believe in the last days that God is going to use twelve key people that have not been revealed. They will represent a powerful apostolic ministry that is being restored. Just like Pentecost, the glory of God is going to come upon the church and they are going to lead the church into the nations.
6. THE GLORY OF ETERNITY
The last Glory is the Glory of the eternity. The present-day church is going to be part of the fifth glory, but we are also going to be part of the sixth just as Israel experienced the glory of Moses and the glory of Solomon. We are anointed for eternity and we are glorified throughout eternity so that we can teach and we can lead nations.
After the tribulation, there is going to be a thousand years of peace. In that time the devil is going to be bound and we are going to be ruling with Jesus. After the thousand year period, the devil is going to be loosed and will deceive the nations for a short time. He will then be cast into the lake of fire together with those whose names were not written in the Book of Life.
Revelations 21:10-12 - And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
We will live continuously in the glory of God because we will be with Him forever and ever. The glory of God will be the light of the New Jerusalem.
The book of Revelation tells us the following:
* The wall of the city has twelve foundations
* The names of the twelve apostles are etched on the foundations
* The city has twelve gates
* There are twelve angels at the gates
* The tree of life twelve fruits
Desire the things of God. Stir up a hunger and thirst for more and more of God. When you desire the right things of God and you are totally committed to God, you are preparing yourself for the greatest glory that is coming upon the church.
Romans 12:1 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
