I Can, I Did, and So Can You
As I set back, reflecting on what I was going to talk about this week,
I was thinking, in the past few months we have seen 4 Americans murdered in Ben Gazzi,
One of the most damaging hurricanes on record and as a result, homeless families by the thousands.
Innocent children murdered in their own classrooms, where their suppose to be safe and protected,
A Methamphetamine and drug epidemic, that we probably won’t know the full ramifications from, for years to come and all the deaths as a result from it,
You would think, with everything thats going on in the world, that there would be a stampede of people, stepping on one another, running in droves towards God and the church, but their not!
Oh people are quick to say, where was He in all these things, forgetting all about that word in the dictionary called "free will", like its all His fault.
And I wonder where is the outrage, where is the anger, not towards God, but towards the accuser, towards the lowlife piece of work he really is!
Its like we acknowledge all the things that happen on the nightly news and then its like “oh well” ain’t nothing we can do about, except pray.
Not even realizing the true potential that we could unlock in the heavenlies, if we were serious.
Oh Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever!
You see, a lot of people know the words to that song, but where’s the Victory, very few are experiencing the Victory in their lives!
It is way past time that we took back, what the enemy has stolen from us, from all of us, for far to long!
Most Christians know what they ought to be doing! They have been told so many times,
They know, but their like the rocky soil in the book of Matthew.
Matthew 13:3-8 MSG.
3-8 “What do you make of this? A farmer planted seed. As he scattered the seed, some of it fell on the road, and birds ate it. Some fell in the gravel; it sprouted quickly but didn’t put down roots, so when the sun came up it withered just as quickly. Some fell in the weeds; as it came up, it was strangled by the weeds. Some fell on good earth, and produced a harvest beyond his wildest dreams.
The NIV says, Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
Would you agree, that the Lord, by that statement, meant everyone?
You see, a lot of people have read this scripture, but few believe that it pertains to them.
Church, were the soil, and God has planted into us, He has invested heavily into each one of us, and its time we stood up and helped produce a harvest.
How many more times, will we think or say, this world is going to hell in a hand basket,
Before we are willing to draw a line in the sand and finally do something about it?
Everyone is so concerned about our right to bare arms and I believe everyone should have the right to own a gun if they want to
and they are standing in lines all across America, because they believe that right might be taken away.
But more importantly, what about our right to bare Jesus!, where’s the line to protest about our religious rights?
the very thing that possessed a group of men and women,
To forge an ocean into the unknown,
not to be debated in courtroom after courtroom and be whittled away to nothing, on a daily basis
But to be a God given inalienable right, to have a relationship with your creator,
anytime you want,
anywhere you want,
anyway you choose and not worry about what the politically correct thing to do is!
Everybody says, what in the world would possess people to do, what they do?
Since no one else wants to tell you, I’ll tell you, lack of Jesus in their life, that’s what possesses people to do the barbaric, heinous things they do.
Andre Crouch hit the nail on the head more than 40 years ago,
Jesus Is The Answer For The World Today / above Him There’s No Other, Jesus Is The Way / Jesus Is The Answer For The World Today / above Him There’s No other, Jesus is the way!
He didn’t come up with some new found revelation though, the answer always was and always will be Jesus!
The world needs to know this, everyone thinks they know about it, but clearly they don’t, someone needs to tell them about Jesus, before its to late.
2 Tim 3:1-5 NKJ.
1. But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
2. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3. unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
4. traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5. having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
Do we see any of this going on in the world today, only every night on the news?
Yes we do, but its not to late to turn back to God
2 Chrn. 7:14 NKJ
14. if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
With man, this would be a impossible task, but with God all things are possible.
We need to get the "I can" campaign going,
But you just said we need God involved!
that’s right I did, let me finish,
the I can I’m talking about, is found in Phil. 4:13&19 NKJ and it goes like this,
13. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
That sounds great preacher, but what about the needs along the way? What about them, who’s going to supply them?
19. And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Do you think, that God would call us to do something for Him, that He has not already provided provisions for along the way, no matter how many we may need!
Joshua 24:13 NKJ
13. I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.’
This talks of physical needs, did you know we are a lot like the children of Israel, we inhabit lands we didn’t fight for, houses we didn’t build and things to use everyday, that we didn’t discover.
And He has given us the ability to obtain all these things and enjoy them,
But more importantly, He has also given us, everything we would ever need spiritually as well.
Like the scripture says, we can do all things through Him.
The whole time Jesus was here on this earth, did His disciples perform any miracles?
Did they feed the masses, with a sack lunch?
Did they even cure, the common cold?
No, but still Jesus said in the book of John
John 14:12 NKJ
12. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
When He told them that, I imagine they didn’t quite know what to think,
I’m sorry John, Peter said, did He say what I thought He just said, yes Peter, John said I believe He did,
They were wondering, how was that going to happen? People still wonder the same thing today, is that true for us?
God allowed Jesus to say it didn’t He? Do you believe Jesus words to be true? Then yes, it is!
Jesus knew, that it would be possible, once the Holy Spirit would be revealed and they would be able to possess Gods Power in their lives.
And man oh man, was He ever right!
It was the infilling of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, that’s were it happened!
Acts 2:1 NKJ
1.When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
4. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
6. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.
7. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?
8. And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?
12. So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”
13. Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”
14. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.
16. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17. ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18. And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
What happened that day, was amazing and those that were there that day, revolutionized the world with the Power and the Gospel Of Christ!
That same power is still available today, there is no other way to do greater things than Jesus did, except with the power God sent to ensure that you could!
And it was all made possible, when Jesus willingly laid down His life for the sin of all mankind, on the cross.
John 3:16,17 NKJ
16. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Jesus Is The Answer For The World Today / above Him There’s No Other, Jesus Is The Way
You see, the sad thing is, The world is looking for the answers to life’s questions and we know the answer,
the question is, are we going to tell them?
Isn’t it time, we took back what has been ours all along?
Everyday we don’t share the Gospel, everyday we don’t lift up the name of Jesus, is another victory for the accuser, that we willingly give him!
Matthew 28:18,19 NKJ
18. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Jesus knew the importance of the assignment He was giving,
not only for those there that day, But for you and I as well!
Little by little, the devil has chipped away at it and we have come to believe the lie,
that we don’t need to be faithful in carrying out the task, that someone else will do it.
Hundreds of thousands of millions, have thought the same thing, and look where were at,
Innocent children murdered in their own classrooms, where their suppose to be safe and protected,
A Methamphetamine and drug epidemic, that we probably won’t know the full ramifications from, for years to come and all the deaths as a result from it,
and this would probably be a good time to tell you, if you think this is appalling, you ain’t seen nothing yet of what’s yet to come, if we as a nation don’t turn our hearts back to God!
When will enough, ever be enough?
When will we finally get mad enough at the devil, to fight back with the power God so graciously gave us, on the day of Pentecost,
And clobber him good, with what we know is more than sufficient to get the job done.
When will we get the I can, I did, and So can you, frame of mind and help others to see, that they can do the same thing too and have that become the norm for the attitude to have?
We can, if we all do our part and start sharing the gospel!
Let it be today, Let it be today.
Don’t let one more day pass by, without telling someone about Jesus.
Then you’ll be the one to say, I Can, I Did and So Can You!
Lets pray
