Hot pursuit!
Judges 8:4 “When Gideon came to the Jordan, he and the three hundred men who were with him crossed over, exhausted but still in pursuit.”
Don’t give up! Exhausted but still in pursuit caught my attention! Hard work is the key element that separates the genius from the ordinary! An indomitable spirit is needed to overcome discouragement, stress and pressure! Now don't take this impersonally! This is God speaking to you!
It may be a court case, deteriorating health, financial crunch, uncertain future, discouragement, long period of darkness, failure – whatever, don’t give up! There is light in the end of the tunnel!
For a small head ache, people give up fasting, slight disturbance shatters them and a small tremor baffles them! These are clear pointers to lack of prayer! If you are looking for an easy way out: to divorce and find another partner rather than pray hard to save the marriage, if you want to get into easy EMI rather than wait, save and buy, if you want to give up rather than persevere and win-then this message may not interest you. I am talking to prayer warriors, conquerors and fighters! If you are in hot pursuit to win and get healed, then read! Don’t rush to the doctor for the slightest ache, look unto Him!
Did you know at times your hard prayer and painful groans may not bring you whopping success, but it would help you go through the path of suffering and sudden attacks? I was kneeling in front of our church altar and praying for the entire morning and reading the Word at His feet and preparing for the evening service in the church. A midweek service is a sheer challenge in an area where people neglect church on Sundays. I expected a mighty move; on the contrary it was dull with poor attendance and to add to it, the neighbors had complained to the local Panchayat head ( our church is in the outskirts of the city) on the same day, that we were making noise and disturbing them. That morning God already spoke to me about the 300 men! I was not surprised when my husband gave me the news, I was prepared for the attack. I had prayed enough that morning and I was charged! Friends, if you remember us, please pray for our ministries! God had a purpose in bringing us to this area dominated by satan and his accomplices! I have a battle to fight everyday!
God knew much in advance that the battle is going in to be tough where they had to fight under the greatest discouragements, inconveniences and struggle. God personally got involved in the selection process and also gave them the test and three hundred men who lapped water like the dog were selected. God is looking for chasers not dozers! God is looking for Christians who would go to church at any cost rather than give silly excuses and bunk the House of God.
Who do you think will mock and lampoon you when you are in a battle? Your own church members, your own folks and people whom you think would comfort you! Fear not! It is now that you should excel! Are you listening? May be you are not getting the support from the team, you are sidetracked and ignored; whatever, don’t give up, continue until you come to completion. The 300 army men were hungry, thirsty, tired and bushed out; yet, they pursued the enemies until they captured the two kings who fled: Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian. Greater the power of the enemy the more you need His power! The more the enemy screams, the more you got to scream out to God! Are you there?
The determination, steadfastness of Gideon and his 300 men were astounding! Do you want to know the size of the army they were pursuing? 15000! 300 against 15000! God’s math is incredible!
