STARS FALLING FROM HEAVEN
By William Akehurst, HSWC
Somewhere on a back country road along the Maryland/Pennsylvania state lines.
Friday night, around 10pm, I was traveling down a lonesome country road with a great view of the star studded sky that night. I took notice when in the sky before me, I saw stars from the comet or meteor shower that occurred that evening shooting forth through the sky. It was a beautiful splendor of trailing flashes of light in the sky.
Somewhere in Israel.
Wednesday night November 14th 2012, around 10pm, youtube videos captured trailing lights in the sky as the country was under attack. When I saw the video I was reminded of those shooting stars I had witnessed just a few days before.
Profound thoughts
Then a profound thought occurred to me. In Revelation, John was told to write what he heard and saw, as John gave witness to Revelation of Jesus Christ. Writing what he saw, he could only describe these things in words and vocabulary known at that time. In Revelation 6:13 is written. “And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”
Could this be what John saw? Could these stars in heaven falling to earth be describing these events we are now witnessing?
In Mark 13:25-26, Jesus gives us signs of what is to come before HIS return.
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Perhaps what John saw, and Jesus was describing, could be represented by a great attack of missiles ‘falling from the heavens’, and their impact “shaking” the heavens and the earth. An explosion disturbs the air with force, thus, even the fig tree would cast her untimely figs when shaken by a mighty wind.
As we read our Bibles, I believe more now than ever, that the pages are turning into daily newspaper headlines as we see what is happening around the globe. Watch and wait, stay tuned to what is going on around us. Soon and Not Yet, the watchman says.
PRAISE GOD, THE KING IS COMING SOON!
