On behave of the Hardy family thank you for coming today.
We are here today to honor to the life of Wayne Hardy good husband… Dad to his children….and a good Pappa….
Wayne and Nellie were also good friends of my Mom and Dad and family.
I think a lot of friends and Neighbors will remember Wayne as being a good Brick Mason…laying Block and Bricks building houses and chimneys …as a matter of fact he laid most of the bricks on our house years ago.
When he was working… him and RJ some of the best …..
Being a good Brick mason requires skill and know how.
Wayne knew the most important thing in being a brick mason…
You got to have a good foundation….if the foundation is not strong and solid then the bricks can’t be secure.
Same thing with salvation…without Jesus there is no security.
Jesus Himself said in….
Luke 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat (Violently) upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Jesus is saying…Those who hear His words and act on them are secure—like a man building a house on a good foundation.
Wayne also found out that it took a good foundation to have assurance of eternal life…..
Wayne Hardy acted on Jesus words…and accepted Christ as his Saviour ….a Rock solid foundation that stands throughout eternity.
Wayne knew how important it was to build on a good foundation…..he didn’t trust just anything….he trusted Jesus.
Folks when we put our trust in Him……………………..
All of Gods children can sing that old song…”On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand… All other ground is sinking sand.
The first verse of that song goes……………………..
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
I got a call a little over 5 years ago one night from Jerry and he said Nellie wanted me to come over and talk to the family because she fighting cancer and didn’t have much longer and she wanted to make sure that she would see all her family again in Heaven…
I presented Gods plan of salvation to the family and God moved just as He promised He would into the hearts of those who trust Him.
A few minutes later I was setting at Nellies bed side and she look at Wayne and ask….”You going to join me one day in Heaven aint ya Pappa?.........Wayne said…”YEP”
It was a Mothers love for her husband and family…. Nellie Hardy also knew what it took to have a solid foundation and life eternal……it’s all about Jesus…it’s not about me….it’s not about you…..it’s all about For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
A Mom and Dad’s love for their family is precious but, …… …..For God so love the world is just amazing love amazing grace.
Bible says says …that while we were yet sinners…Christ died for us.
I want to remind you how it was before Jesus……. the only way sins were forgiven was by the sacrificing of animals.
It was the blood of animals that God allowed the forgiveness.
Did God enjoy that?..no ….but, Folks …sin has a price and that price is death…by the shedding of blood.
Why does sin have such a price?.....its because we can’t stand in the presents of a holy and righteous God with sin.
Well, why don’t we sacrifice animals today for our sin?.....thats were Jesus comes in.
**Jesus was God Himself who came to this earth as baby Jesus to grow up as a man …and in the prime of His life…died on a cross and shed His blood for you and me….Wayne and Nellie Hardy.
To pay that debt of sin …that must be paid before anyone can stand in His presents.
Paul said in Phil 2:8
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross
*****Jesus is God Himself who paid the price for our sins once and for all for those that He said Luke 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock
****But, what happens to those that don’t put your trust in Him?.....Jesus said in verse 49 of Luke chapter 6….
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat (violently) , and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Jesus said …like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth.
What happens when you try to build a house upon the earth without a foundation?
What would Wayne Hardy have told me if I said I was going to build my house myself and just start the block on a level spot on the ground…..he would have probably laughed and said go ahead but, it won’t stand!
Jesus said the ruin of that house was great….
There is no foundation folks without Jesus…..there is no hope without Jesus because He also said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
**********
You might ask….what if I do the things Jesus ask me to do and ask Him into my life and be my Lord and Saviour and turn from my sin just like Wayne Hardy did?
Apostal Paul said it like this in….
Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Fellowcitizens with the saints…..Wayne and Nellie Hardy are fellowcitizens with the saints now.
Because the Bible also says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord……this old body of ours when it takes its last breath like Wayne did Saturday evening is not the end….it’s only the beginning of eternal life.
**************************************
What a great reunion Wayne must have had when Nellie was there to meet him at those gates of Heaven…think about the joy….think about the smiles and laughter.
And if there is any fishing going on in Heaven then Nellie has already found the best place for them to go. What a reunion day.
What a great reunion when we are with the household of God for all eternity.
What a great reunion when we see our Saviour face to face……we see those nail scared hands and feet because the Bible says when we see Him …..we shall see Him as He is… and we shall be like Him.
Its because of Jesus that we can have a joyous reunion …because Jesus not only paid for our sins but, rose again in a glorified body and so will all of those who come to Him.
Our Rock.our Cornerstone.our Foundation..our Saviour..Jesus..Lets pray

1co 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
1co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
1co 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
1co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit
1co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1co 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Love in Christ Jesus, Ronnie Miller
