The five reward crowns of the NT.
We have 5 promises of crowns, to be given to believers for specific qualities or accomplishment in their lives. These crowns are given to the believer as rewards, and are given within the Resurrection / Judgement.
(1) THE CROWN INCORRUPTIBLE -- is received for exercising self-control in all disciplined training.
1 Corinthians 9:25, And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
(2) THE CROWN OF LIFE -- is received for standing approved before God by rightly dividing his Word in our lives
James 1:12, Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
1 Corinthians 9:25, And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
(3) THE CROWN OF REJOICING -- is received for winning people to the Lord Jesus Christ after we have rightly divided the Word
1 Thessalonians 2:19, For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? [ Philippians 4:1, Therefore, my brethren, dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. ]
(4) THE CROWN OF GLORY -- is received by leaders in the body for feeding God's people with His Word
2 Timothy 4:8, Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
(5) THE CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS -- is available to all born-again believers who love his appearing.
1 Peter 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: [ 5:2 ] Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; [ 5:3 ] Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. [ 5:4 ] And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
