Intro: What happened to the church?
1: What do we know today?
a) Romans 8:28 and we know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.
Example: Genesis 50:20 Joseph and his brothers
b) he had a coat of many colors, and he was a dreamer of dreams, Genesis 37:3 Jacob loved Joseph more than all his children
c) he had favor, and his brothers hated him for it
d) so they threw him in a pit and sold him into slavery
Point: look at Romans 8:28, what’s the key to that? To those that love God. Not love self, or love the world but too those that love God. Joseph loved God and through all his trails and tribulations he still loved God. And God took care of Joseph and his entire family. He dreamed dreams and he never gave up on his dreams, because had a purpose for him and his life!!!!
2: Love the Lord
a) all your heart
b) all your soul
c) all your mind
Point: Matt 22:37, the Great Commandment, love God first with everything and love your neighbor as yourself.
3: His purpose
a) great Commission
b) go ye therefore
c) teaching all nations
Point: take the Gospel out into the world carry it in your hearts and minds. Seek to share and give good news to any you encounter. Purpose with passion and compassion, gospel with grace and mercy, a Savior risen and alive!!!!
2Peter 3:9 the Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
1Timothy 2:3-4 for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Body: If God be for us who can be against us? Rom 8:31
1: We have the supplies
a) he spared not his own Son
b) delivered him up for us ALL
c) for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son
d) we have Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit, we have the Word of God
Point: justify, God made me free from sin, who is it that shall lay anything to the charge of those saved and born again into the family of God?
2: Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ
a) tribulation/ nope
b) distress/ nope
c) persecution/ nope
d) famine/ not a chance
e) nakedness or peril/ never
Point: hardship mental suffering unfair treatment hunger lack of covering or even dangerous exposure can’t separate us from the Lord.
3: we are more
a) all the setbacks
b) all the failures
c) through Christ Jesus we are more than our past
d) we have a future sealed in heaven
e) we have blessings in store
Point: we serve the king of kings, the prince of peace and through him and his love for us we are more than what this world and satan tries to convince we are. We’re saved, born again we have salvation not religion but salvation!!!!
Closing: There is nothing that can separate us from the love of Christ; we know all things work together for good to those that love God. Do you really know?
