Message Point: In Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have forgiveness of sins and the hope of eternal salvation.
Focus Passage: Luke 24:1-12
Supplemental Passage: (1 Corinthians 15:55) "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?"
Introduction:
I. No expectations
a. If the women had understood, they wouldn’t have gone to the expense and trouble of going to the tomb.
II. No understanding
a. When they got to the tomb and it was empty, they didn’t “connect the dots”.
III. No doubt
a. The angels had to bring them into reality.
b. They believed so that they went and obeyed.
Invitation: What do we expect of God? What do we understand about His salvation through Jesus?
