Message Point: We must be patient and allow God to work in and through us, entirely depending on the power of the Holy Spirit.
Focus Passage: Galatians 6:6-10
Supplemental Passage: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Introduction: Sir Robert Watson Watt, the inventor of the radar was arrested himself for speeding. He had been caught in a radar trap. Shortly after this irony he wrote this poem:
Pity Sir Robert Watson Watt
Strange target of his radar plot,
And this, with others I could mention,
A victim of his own invention.

I. Deception
a. The world seeks to deceive us that that we can get something different than what we sow.
b. God is not mocked. We might deceive ourselves and others, but God is not deceived.
c. We buy our own excuses, and the excuses of others, but God doesn’t buy our excuses. He knows the truth.
II. Production
a. If you invest (sow) in eternity things of the flesh, you will only reap destruction.
i. Being “good enough” to get to Heaven is sowing in the flesh.
b. If you invest (sow) in eternity things of the Spirit, you will reap eternal life.
i. Calling on Jesus for Salvation is sowing in the Spirit.
III. Motivation
a. Do not grow weary in doing good.
b. We may not see the results right way, or even on this side of glory.
c. Do not give up or give in just because things don’t happen fast.
Invitation:
You can’t sow hatred and reap love.
You can’t sow grudges and reap forgiveness.
You can’t sow bitterness and reap joy.
You can’t sow adultery and reap fidelity.
You can’t sow curses and reap blessings.
You can’t sow legalism and reap grace.
You can’t sow lawlessness and reap obedience.
You can’t sow filthiness and reap purity.
You can’t sow immorality and reap holiness.
You can’t sow conflict and reap peace.
You can’t sow complacency and reap excellence.
You can’t sow wild oats and reap a good reputation.
You can’t sow Hell and reap Heaven.
