“In the Right Now Time, Mean Time or the Now Time”
2 Corinthians 5:6-17
1. Paul begins by talking about looking forward, to a certain day coming.
A. There is coming a Day when the Tent will be destroyed
51Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God,
an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
B. There s coming a Day that God will Judge
5:10A. We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.,
C. There is coming a Day that each will receive a Reward
vs. 10b.that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body,
whether good or bad.
2. After Paul has looked forward to that day, although he has been waiting and excited about that day, yet he understands that day is distant and in order to make it to that blessed place the believer must live in the mean time or now time. How one lives in the, “right this moment time” will determine the believer’s ability to please God. While Paul is in the right now time he believes the believers should do what pleases God.
A. In The Right Now Time Paul feels we should Live a Life that Pleases God, so he comments in vs 9.
9So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
Proverbs says it Please God when the upright Pray
Ecclesiastes says "if we please God, God gives us wisdom
Timothy claims if we live peaceful and quiet lives in goodness
and holiness this pleases God
B. In The Right Now Time Paul believes one Pleases God by walking by Faith
. 7We live by faith, not by sight. This is a great way to live life
C. In The Right Now Time Paul feels it is vital we try to Persuade People to acknowledge Christ and that pleases God
11Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is
plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience
.
D. In The Right Now Time Paul believes what pleases God is Love for Christ.
. 14For Christ's love compels us, This love controls his actions
E. In The Right Now Time Paul believes believers should live as a New Creation
.
17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
F. In The Right Now Time Paul wants us to beg you, plead with you earnestly or to implore
vs 19 God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins
against them vs. 20 We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. . 21God made him who had no sin to be sin A for us, so that in him we might
become the righteousness of God.
In conclusion, I pray today all have peace and reconciliation with Jesus.
Remember right now is the time to accept Jesus as Lord and if we do, then we can look forward for a greater day. Amen
