7 Wonders of Christendom
Places we all have visited or are making plans to visit.
Jude 3
3 ¶ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (KJV)
(RVG04)
Wonder #1-----THE CROSS
The first Adam was put to sleep by God and He reached into his side and took a rib from which He made Eve; a helpmeet for man.
The second Adam went to the cross to die for our sins. At one point, a soldier lifted his spear and pierced the side of Jesus. Out of His side flowed water and blood. But that is not all. God reached in and pulled out the beginnings of the church.
The church was birthed at Calvary, then empowered at Pentecost.
Some, only briefly ventured near the cross, and then rushed on their way.
Mark 15:29
29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, (KJV)
Those who stayed a while at the cross had much more profound experiences.
Mark 15:39
39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. (KJV)
(RVG04)
Wonder #2-----THE ALTAR
It is a place that we construct. The physical location may change but the purpose remains the same. It is a very real place where we meet God face to face. If we have been to the cross in a life changing way, then we will surely be visiting the altar on a regular basis.
The altar is a place to leave your burden.
It is a place to bring your sacrifice.
Wonder #3-----IN THE WORD
No a geographical location, but a place we need to frequent often.
Psalm 119:105
105 ¶ NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. {lamp: or, candle} (KJV)
105 NUN. Lámpara es a mis pies tu palabra, y lumbrera a mi camino. (RVG04)
Wonder #4-----THE UPPER ROOM
The place where believers tarried (waited) for the outpouring and infilling of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:4
The Comforter came and took residence in their lives.
There was the initial, physical evidence of them speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
They were filled with boldness to witness for the Lord.
Wonder #5-----THE TEMPLE
Acts 3:1-8
This beggar had spent years just outside the front door of the temple, but on this day he received his healing and immediately went inside the temple.
Healing is still for us today.
1 P. 2:24
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. {on: or, to} (KJV)
(RVG04)
Healing is the children's bread.
Wonder #6-----THE SKY
The next great event on God's calendar is the Rapture.
1 Thes. 4:17
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (KJV)
(RVG04)
This will truly be a wonder to behold. It is only going to happen one time. Get ready and stay ready.
1 Co. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump
Wonder #7-----NEW JERUSALEM
Not only do I plan to visit this wonderful place, but I am determined to live there for all eternity.
Rev. 21:2
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (KJV)
(RVG04)
It is a fancy name for Heaven.
The Lord is preparing us mansions to enjoy for all the endless ages.
