VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Highlights:
1. Use the seed money to take care of the sanctuary - give our heart's treasure not our surplus (Mark 12:44, Matthew 6:21)
Mark 12:44
For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.
Matthew 6:21
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be
2. It will bring us to the LORD's attention
a. Giving from the heart catches the LORD's attention (Mark 12:44)
Mark 12:44
For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.
b. Great faith catches the LORD's attention (Matthew 15:28, Luke 7:9)
Matthew 15:28
“Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.
Luke 7:9
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to the crowd that was following him, he said, “I tell you, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!”
c. Least in GOD's kingdom catches the LORD's attention (Luke 7:28)
Luke 7:28
I tell you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of God is greater than he is!”
3. It is atonement for our lives:
a. The LORD JESUS is our atonement for our sins (Romans 3:25)
Romans 3:25
For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past,
b. The Blood of the LORD JESUS made atonement for our sins (Leviticus 17:11, Hebrews 2:17)
Leviticus 17:11
for the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the Lord. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible.
Hebrews 2:17
Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people.
c. Atonement is = at "one" with GOD, or reconciled with GOD.
IX. CONCLUSION:
Pray that GOD's attention will always be on us.
