PULLING DOWN SATANIC ALTERS
Study Text: 1 Kings 13: 1 – 5
1 Kings 13:1-5: And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.
2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee.
3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.
4 And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.
5 The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.
- We can see several emphases on the altar:
1. Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense: Sacrifice is offered at the alter to Satan or God depending on who is offering and what and how is being offered.
2. The man of God cried against the altar: It is possible to speak against satanic altars in the name of the Lord. I pray that the word of God will pull down all satanic altars raised against you in Jesus name.
3. The king stretches forth his hand from the altar against the man of God: Evil can be programmed against the people of God from satanic altars.
4. The altar was rent and the ashes poured out from the altar: Satanic altar can be completely destroyed through a prophetic utterance in the name of the Lord. I prophesy against all satanic altars raised against the purpose of God in your life in Jesus name.
We shall be looking into this study under three subheadings:
1. The Purposes of Satanic Altars
2. The Processes at Satanic Altars
3. The Power to pull down Satanic Altars
1. The Purposes of Satanic Altars: Satanic altars, whether they exist in the physical or spiritual are raised to fulfill one or more of the following purposes:
1. It is a place designed for offering sacrifices to Satan and his demons in order to appease them or to make a request for their assistance
2. It is a place where blood is shed, either of animals or of human, and because the life of anything is in its blood, there is blood crying at satanic altars..
3. It is a satanic dinning table where evil spirits and demons are served food. They can be served their usual food in order to attract their blessings upon the person offering the sacrifice, or they gave a wrong type of food on behalf of someone so that the demons can punish the person.
4. It is a place of spiritual exchange: At the satanic altars, they can exchange people’s glory and destiny to turn them to nonentity. I met a young lady whose brain was exchanged with stones, and she was sent out of a University due to poor academic performance. The lady was delivered by the power of God, and she was able to graduate with good result from another University. There was a case of another young man, that the enemy was able to see his shinning glory and exchange it for a man in search of fortunes. All these kind of exchanges take place at satanic altars.
5. It is a place of spiritual fellowship for demonic spirits and their agents. At satanic altars, people who consult evil priests and demonic people are in fellowship with demons whether they are aware of it or not. This is the same way the people of God at the altar of God are having the spiritual fellowship with the Spirit of God and the angels.
6. It is a place of making satanic covenants, or sealing a spiritual contract, either the people concerned are conscious of it or not. The only covenant we are allowed to enter into as children of God apart from the covenant with the blood of Jesus is the covenant of marriage that is done in God’s way and according to His principles. Any other covenant is at the satanic altars and will have evil consequences. A young lady entered into a blood covenant with a young man by taking each other’s blood as a means of assuring their loyalty to each other in marriage. The lady later met with Christ, and renounced this covenant. As soon as she did that, she fell down and died, but was raised back to life by the power oh the Holy Ghost.
7. It is a seat of power, a place of making decisions and taking deliberations by satanic spirits and demons. At satanic altars, demons and their agents take decisions over the lives of people and deliberate on what to do against or in support of their subjects. They also have their power demonstrated from the altar.
8. It is a place of evil spiritual transactions. Many lives and destinies are traded and bought at satanic altars. Joseph was sold to Egypt so that the purpose of God for him will not come to pass, in a similar way many have been sold or being sold at satanic altars, and their God-given visions and dreams could no longer be realized.
9. It is a place of spiritual monitoring and control of people and events in the spirit realm. There are people who are being monitored and their lives are being teleguided by satanic agents, such people can never be successful in life unless by the intervention of the almighty God. Such monitoring took place at satanic altars.
10. It is a place of spiritual communication, reinforcements and evaluation of satanic activities. At satanic altars communication goes on among the spirits and forces of darkness, they can also reinforce themselves in attacking their subjects, and carry out an evaluation of their activities all at satanic altars.
2. The Processes at Satanic Altars:
- Apart from altars of idols, shrines and family occults that are seen physically, other satanic altars exist spiritually. The following are the processes that take place at satanic altars.
1. Placing sacrifices at T-junction: Sacrifices are placed at T-junction in the mid-night with the intention of transferring evil thing to the first person that will see the sacrifice after it has been placed. I pray that the power of the Holy Spirit will liberate you from any satanic bondage in your life due to satanic sacrifices in Jesus name.
2. Praying with Candles, Incense and Perfumes: People that pray or carry out any religious activities with such materials are operating at satanic altars, and they can only attract the presence of demons and evil spirits rather that the presence of the Holy Spirit. If you still have any of such materials in your house, you have to destroy them without delay and plead the blood of Jesus upon your self for deliverance and cleansing.
3. Reading of satanic books or using the Bible in a wrong way: Any form of books that is occultic or demonic in nature and content should not be read or handled by children of God, because they constitute activities on satanic altars. Similarly, the Bible which is the word of God should only be read, meditated upon and put into practice. Any other use may raise a satanic altar. For instance, reading psalms into water to drink or bath, putting the Bible under the pillow with the mind of chasing away demons, using the Bible to swear or curse, or using it as a magical book to reveal secrete, and so on.
4. Having a special bath at the river or using special prayer water in bathing: In the new covenant, the river is only meant to conduct water baptism and not for any other spiritual activities. False prophet prescribe stream bath to give people out in covenant with water spirits. Sometimes they ask you to rub your body with a candle and throw the candle and the sponge into the river backward without looking back. Only demons can attend to you in such practices. If you have been entangled and you desired to be free, I pray that the power in the blood of Jesus will set you free in Jesus name.
5. Consulting trees, or hanging something on trees or keeping something by the trees. People go into the bush and consult trees in the name of special prayers. God is not found in the bush nor in the tree, any where you are, if you can call on the name of God out of a pure heart, He will answer you and deliver you out of your troubles. By consulting trees you are operating on a satanic altar, which will make heaven to be locked up against you.
6. Making images with wood or mud to represent people and influencing them spiritually: These activities are common at satanic altars. They make images to represent someone or make use of the person’s photograph, and they control their lives from the satanic altars. Pray violently that any image the devil is using to represent you to be set ablaze under the fire of the Holy Ghost in Jesus name.
7. Sharing food, money or gifts after making some satanic utterances: A lot of people have been initiated into the spirit world because of food they ate in real life or in dreams or because of money or gifts they received. A lady was presented a fish which was served at her birthday ceremony, by a fetish and satanic person, and all the people that ate the fish unprotected were initiated to the marine world and had their lives controlled by Satan. But she met with Jesus and the power of God set her free from the satanic bondage. I prophesied that any satanic food or a gift you have received that is a trouble in your life will be destroyed by fire in Jesus name.
8. Spreading something on the floor for others to tread upon so as to gain access into their lives: Certain satanic agents are fond of spreading some things outside very early in the morning with the hope of taking the glory or the fortunes of people that tread on them. They may bath in a big bowl and pour the water on the floor where people pass, or spread corn, salt, etc on the floor. So I encourage you as a child of God never to go out carelessly without praying and securing your life with the blood of Jesus. If you are suffering already from this kind of attack, the fire of the Holy Ghost will destroy that yoke upon your life in Jesus name.
9. Taking somebody’s materials or body parts to use for rituals or for other satanic activities: Materials such as clothing, under wears, shoes, bags, tooth brushes etc can be taken by satanic agents to do you evil at the satanic altars, they may later return some of those materials for you to use them and get afflicted. So when any of such materials got missing and reappeared again, you should pray on them before use. Body parts like placenta, hair, nails etc may also be taken to satanic alters by wicked people.
10. Doing something to read and control somebody’s mind: There is a lot of spiritual activities going on in the kingdom of darkness to manipulate and control the mind of their subjects. Judas was so controlled to betray Jesus. The devil put it into his mind and later entered into him. You should pray regularly for your mind to be free from all satanic influences by the power in the blood of Jesus
3. The Power to pull down Satanic Altars:
- Only the power of the Holy Spirit can pull down satanic alters, human power, knowledgr or ability will not be able to do that. Zech 4:6-7:
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
- The power of the Holy Ghost comes after you have experience the new birth, and you are baptized in the Holy Ghost. So if you are reading this message and you are yet to give your life to Jesus Christ, I want to tell you that you can not succeed in pulling down satanic altars in your life until you can take a step for your salvation.
- Once you are born again, the power of the Holy Spirit is able to destroy all satanic altars raised against you, and after that He can destroy all the priests and prophets of the satanic altars.
- You also need to maintain a godly living in order to enjoy continuous support of the Holy Spirit in praying with you and for you. All kind of behaviors and attitude that will grieve the Holy Spirit must be avoided.
- As you pray, you need to renounce all covenants with the devil known or unknown, and make sure that no property of the devil is within your custody.
- The word of God must be taken as the only standard for all actions and behaviors you embark upon and observe to do all that is written therein.
