Leviticus 26:18 “And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.”
The above scripture opens with the words, ‘after all this’, which set me thinking! The Lord said: ‘AFTER ALL THIS, if you continue to sin then I will do this to you:
19 ‘I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze. 20-And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.’
Are you shocked? Do you still want to continue reading? Good! Choice is yours! The Sunday school teacher after teaching several lessons on Heaven and Hell, enthusiastically asked her class kids, ‘what does one have to do, to go to heaven?’, there was silence, she repeats, ’come on, what is essential in order to enter Heaven?’ Bang came the reply: ‘one has to necessarily die to go to Heaven.’ I bet she fainted!
God has a point in crying, ‘after all this’; He has given us 66 books of the Bible, with several repetitions of rules and regulations, He keeps reiterating certain facts over and over again in order for us to understand, and when we throw all this to the wind and continue to walk in our ways; then we need to face the final wrath of God! Before I delve deeper into the subject, I want to scoop out certain important scriptures which would form a strong foundation for this message. Listen friends, the Word has to be the instruction manual of our life; any decision outside the Word of God is not correct. We need to have a Holy fear for God and His Word!
Proverbs 29:1-‘He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.’ Mark the word suddenly! You will never get a phone call cautioning you of the sudden calamity that might strike you, your family, your kids, your job, your health; it would just engulf you, because you failed to give heed to the umpteen cautioning that came to you in the form of DEVOTIONS (mine, especially) sermon or counsel!
Proverbs 6:12 ‘A worthless person, a wicked man, Walks with a perverse mouth;
13 He winks with his eyes, He shuffles his feet, He points with his fingers;
14 Perversity is in his heart, He devises evil continually, He sows discord.
15 Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.” Again observe the word suddenly here!
We need to hear His Word and keep our life from getting tarnished by this sin-corroded society. In July a two year ban was slapped on Indian athletes and Gold medalist Sini Jose, Tiana Mary Thomas and Jauna Murumu who were found guilty of taking anabolic steroids. It is not only just the doping scandal, but more and more skeletons seem to fall out of the cupboard each day; the reason being: greed for fame, money, power and position. Corruption is fuelled by greed and not by need! These sins are ubiquitous! Sin crept into the attitudes of the people and began to whittle away at the morality of the people. Child of God, stay away from all this! God keeps over and over again sending His prophets and His Word to caution, but if we still persist to remain in sin; then the sword is hanging over our head. Beware!
If you have managed to read thus far, I guess God has a reason to send this across to you! I really can't stop here- because there's just SO MUCH! The point I would like to state here in this message is that, God gives us a long rope to repent and change our life; however, there comes a day when He can take it no more. Beware! Never ever can we ignore His Word that He had painstakingly prepared for us! God is against presumptuous sinners; what God means by presumptuous sinners is: when you disobey Him even though you know His will in the matter, when you daringly live an unrighteous life, when you choose to do your will and overlook God’s verdict on the matter.
Proverbs 11:21”…..the wicked will not go unpunished; But the posterity of the righteous will be delivered. “
A young Christian businessman answered me,’ I know it is wrong to use pirated soft wares for my business purpose; however, I have no other choice since it involves huge investment.’ Such answers though mildly said are direct rebellion to God’s Word: Deuteronomy 25:”16 For all who do such things, all who behave unrighteous, are an abomination to the LORD your God.” Observe the word abomination here! It means He is disgusted with such sins and sinners. I am just expounding the Word to you, it might hurt some of you but I’m sorry; I have to preach His Word today.
Too many of us are living atrocious lives! In this chapter God speaks about having a ‘perfect and just weight!’ Deuteronomy 25:15’…You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure…’ What is the perfect and just weight?
It is your ration card, your passport, you bank pass book, the income tax return documents, your property papers, your educational certificates, your experience and technical qualification certificates, your gas connections (is it in your name or are you cheating?)Everything inside your house and business premises should be ‘perfect and just!’ Even your handset has to be perfect. A hindu dealing with materials relating with worship of idols (pooja materials) accepted Jesus Christ in our meeting, he told me, ‘sister, one day I sat and deleted all the distributors names from my mobile, I don’t want any remembrance of that business anymore. ‘ I was deeply touched by his commitment. A father of two children, he walked out of the family business and is now waiting on the Lord bravely for further guidance. That’s the spirit! God would never, never let him down.
Friend, this is not a choice left to us, but we are commanded by God to come out of a sinful life, which we have knowingly or unknowingly entangled ourselves with. Now, I preach this message with an ‘emergency’ because wrong doctrines, soft methods are corroding and eating away the Truth. GOD’S WORD IS FINAL! We cannot alter it! Let me explain: I instructed a woman who lived with a married man, and also had a kid out of this relationship, to come out of the relationship and allow God to decide about the kid and future, but there were many spiritual leaders who cajoled the woman to stay in the relationship, saying God would understand. We have taken God’s mercy for granted! Agree? Some of the famous statements: ‘God would understand, He knows my situation, He is a God of mercy.’ Don’t ever fall for such statements! Now, let me give you certain scriptures where God clearly expects repentance and change of life, rather than rebelliously continuing in sin:

Isaiah 55:7 ‘Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.’ Don’t miss even a word as you read this scripture, okay? Note:
a)the wicked has to forsake his way
b)the unrighteous man his thoughts
c)return to the Lord
d)only then will he receive mercy.
Pause and study!
Let me give you another scripture, Jesus warns that a servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. (Luke 12:47)
Today people join a huge battalion who deal in unrighteous ways and we say, ‘everybody is doing it’; there is a comfort level among people who cheat the Government on tax, when people daringly underestimate the true value of their property and income, because everybody seems to do it; the Bible has a warning for such people: “…Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.”(Proverbs 16:5)
When Belshazzar drank wine from the holy utensil of the temple of the house of God and partied with his girl friends, we read in Daniel chapter five, that ‘in the same hour’, the fingers of God wrote on the wall his destiny. The king who never feared to touch the holy things of God, was now shaking with fear; he was terrified. Yes, SUDDENLY you will find your destiny written on the wall! There would be no forewarning for rebellious sinners and people who mock at prophets and servants of God. You may guffaw at the Word of God today; but there would be a day of Judgment, when none can stand against His wrath.
Young people! Hear me! Party, booze, porn, sex, drugs would drive you high but one day, you would be thrown from a height that may prove fatal. Alas, there would be no redemption! God wants none to perish, but to repent and change. The Lord says: Ezekiel 33:11: Say to them: 'As I live,' says the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?'
Belshazzar, the grandson of Nebuchadnezzar knew everything that happened to his grandfather: his pride, the punishment that he received from the Hands of the Holy God, his loss of power, his exile to the forest and finally only after he repented was he brought back to power - we read about these facts in Daniel chapter four- however, despite the knowledge of all these facts, Belshazzar chose to disobey the Lord and act proudly. Bang came the judgment through Daniel: Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin; which means: your days are numbered, you are weighted and found wanting and your kingdom has been divided. While Belshazzar feasted, he did not know that his palace was surrounded by enemies. While many of you are partying and watching movies in the theatre and dancing with the devils( to the film tunes), the devil has raised his fort around your life. Did you know that? A group of college students were partying, drinking and dancing on the terrace on the last day of their study tour after 10.30 pm in the dark, while the other students went to sleep; one student missed his step and fell from the terrace and died on the spot. The party that leads to death! Pop King Michael Jackson, the man who did the moonwalk and charmed the world, unfortunately died suddenly while preparing for his next mega event, which never happened. He chose his gold platted coffin, changed his skin color umpteen times and lived life to his style but alas , never did He pause to think of God! Devastating consequences would surely follow disobedience to God and His Word! Friend, we cannot hoodwink God at any cost, His eyes are forever watching over us!
I write never, never to scare you, but to warn you of the catastrophic consequences that would surely come on you when you CONTINUE to live and walk in sin. This Word comes prophetically to your table: pause, listen, study the word for yourself and obey.
Dear friends, God’s will in any matter should be found only in HIS WORD. Please hear me carefully here, the devil is trying to deceive people to believe the wrong things. Be it for business, marriage, foreign travel, job decisions, whatever, look into His Word for guidance. A hindu convert girl said that she felt peace in marrying a non-believer because she was in love with Him and God would understand her feelings and would surely change his heart. These are presumptions. You are misled dear friend; at times, the devil also quotes scriptures and tries to convince you, just because a scripture comes to your mind that seems to be convincing you, check it out with good believers and ask them for their opinion.
Proverbs 15:22 ‘Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.’
Proverbs 19:20 ‘Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days. ‘
You are disobeying God’s Word in making a decision to marry a non-believer, the Word says: 2 Corinthians 6:14 ‘Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?’
Friend, when we submit/surrender our life completely into His Hands, we should be ready to take whatever He gives or instructs. Even if the path may look hard, tough and difficult, a true Christian would obey the Lord whole-heartedly. I want to quote author Wesley Duewel here: ‘An uncommitted situation leaves you with a bias. This bias may be unconscious, but it can easily mislead nevertheless. You are not truly ‘open’ to God in any situation, if you have not fully committed to Him.’
Never justify your sins, mistakes and wrongdoings and never quote scriptures to prove your cause; this would be more wicked and leading other new converts and people weak in faith to sin. God looks at us and says, ‘after all this……after shedding my blood for y
