Intro: The devices (modus operandi) of the devil are those ways in which he works in our lives in order to lead us astray from God and into sin. We should be very familiar with his devices and the defenses we can make when he attacks us.

3. He Deceives the World with Lies (Rev. 12:9);
4. He Accuses the Brethren (Rev. 12:10);
5. He Teaches Damnable Heresies (I Tim. 4:1);
6. He Corrupts the Minds of Believers (II Cor. 11:3);
7. He Steals the Word of God from the Heart (Mark 4:15).
B. OPPOSING SATAN’S DEVICES
1. With Knowledge (II Cor. 2:11);
2. With Preparation (Eph. 6:11);
3. With Resistance (Jas. 4:7; Eph. 4:27);
4. With Faith (Eph. 6:16);
5. With the Word of God (Eph. 6:17; Matt. 4:3-4);

CONCLUSION: Are you learning from your mistakes so that you can be a better soldier for Christ in the future? Satan is more powerful than we are, but we have One greater than him in us. Will you ask God for help to reveal Satan’s devices against you? Will you ask God to guard you in your weak areas? Fight back when you are attacked. Trust the Lord to win the battle. Get back up when you are beaten and press on!
