All Things Become New
2 Cor. 5:11-21
Every year there are new aspirations believing that things will be different and better. We set new goals, establish new vows and seek even a new direction for our lives.
In all this we find ourselves oftentimes caught in the vicious cycle of doing this year by year without seeing any positive results. Why is this? What are we doing wrong? How can we get off this merry-go-round?
The answer lies within the scriptures if we would only get serious about what it says. Our lives can and will be different and we can truly experience the new of the New Years daily.
Mention: 2 Cor. 5:17 God says to you and I can make all things become new
Mention: Isaiah 48:6 Thou hast heard, see all this and will ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things, and thou didst not know them.
The New Things: Song, Earth, beginnings etc..,
1. A New Plan
If any man be in Christ…
God had a new plan from the beginning and this plan is in Jesus the Christ! The new begins with Him.
See: Hebrews 8:7-8, 13 The Old Testament was not with fault, but yet instead you and I was the fault.
Mention: 2 Cor. 5:21for He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him
See: Hebrews 9:16-17 In this plan Jesus the testator had to die for us to inherit these promises such as salvation etc.,
Then: Hebrews 12:24 Jesus the mediator…
Mention: 1 Tim. 2:5 One mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus
2. A New Person
“If any man be in Christ he is a new creature”
Mention: Gal. 6:15 A new creature
Also: Eph. 4:24
And: Col. 3:10 renewed in the knowledge after Him that created him
Mention: “A new name” I believe it is because of a new character!
See: Mark 2:21-22 New wine must be put in new bottles. God does not want to do a patch up work on us, but instead He wants us to completely yield ourselves to Him.
See: Matt. 12:43-45 Self reformation does no good it is He that bring about real change.
Question:
• Can God make that which crooked straight?
• Are there any sins and addictions God can not heal?
“Behold all things (not some) are become new”
Listen, only He can make the new if you will just let Him!
I believe we need to ask ourselves this question; who are you living for?
3. A New Purpose
See: Vs.14-15 We should live unto Him which died for us
Mention: Phil 1:21 For me to live is Christ…
Or: Phil 2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s
Ask yourselves these questions:
• Where is God glorified in the plan for my life?
• Do I faithfully acknowledge Him in my actions?
• Am I certain that this is God’s will and not mine for life?
Key Point: In this liberty God gives us, He wants us to choose Him
Mention: 2 Cor. 5:20 in this state of newness we are ambassadors for Christ
4. A New Place
Mention: Rev. 21:1-2, 5
See: Rev. 21:27 Certain people will not be permitted to enter into this new place. One must have put on the righteousness of Christ by accepting Him as thier Lord and Savior.
